  1. He just did something to his hair that I think is very unflattering. I prefer the curly locks in these dated pro photos.
  2. The two in Fortaleza are Dragon and California, 1.7 kms apart. California is small and simpler, in a residential neighbourhood, trade more regular-looking locals. During a few visits over about a week I did not hook up there. Think New Meio Mundo (Rio) types. Dragon has relatively upscale facilities and the hookup suites are surprisingly high in quality. It was very quiet at Dragon the week I was there (on the city beach in Meireles), but a few connections. Certainly not blown away. Frustrated GdePs seeking dates in a large but empty space. It may have been an 'off' February week. My impression is that Fortaleza is suited to beach lovers, adding various excursions to Canoa Quebrada and/or Jericoacoara, and those comfortable curating their trade through ads and apps. ------- You can use the search function here for Recife. There is a chance I will take a side trip there during my long-stay visit later in the winter. I think I will target the venue in Boa Viagem and visit historical Olinda. -----
  3. It may be that some of these guys plan to return to Europe in cycles and do not want punters there to detect a substantial geographic differential in price-points.
  4. Back in Rio and asking European rates (4x the typical club fee) ... good luck with that. Once bitten, two times twice not shy. Another well-known has also returned and advertising. And a third just OK-looking Brazilian asking 300USD! Are there that many visitors unaware of local options and local sites?
  5. He is Leopardo on the site Sexyservidores if you want to see a little more info.
  6. Looks like a fantastic menu. If you are dining solo there also seems to be a half dozen barstool sittings. That is another sign of a thoughtful flourish if the place is full.
  7. Instagram accounts for Gigolo Erotic House and Saint Moritz Baños are removed again. I wonder if they break content restrictions. Or is it flailing, who knows? But what I really want to add is that I believe there is a cover entrance charge for GEH (open only Fri/Sat) at a certain hour. However, admission to Saint Moritz will grant free entrance to GEH. There was an overlap 20:00-22:00 and after clearing out of the bathhouse I was able to go upstairs to the strip club. This info was provided by other helpful clients ... don't count on the venue to tip you off. If I recall correctly, the baths admission was paid on arrival and then the bar and service tab was paid on departure.
  8. Somebody mentioned a favourite burger place by Fragata, 2 blocks west at R dos Pinheiros 320. Meats BTW for shuttling between Fragata and Lagoa, the Über fare estimate is about R$10.
  9. Bacio di Latte wagons, a favourite gelato outlet, a small flavour card but seasonal specialities such as gingerbread.
  10. Motels formally listed that happen to be in or around a major Sampa gaybourhood, or may be candidates for dates sourced at various establishments ... 1 Savoy Palace Hotel, Augusta 1272 2 Luver Hotel, Frei Caneca 963 3 The Place Hotel, da Consolação 767 4 Madeira Palace Hotel, Nove de Julho 729 There are others, including Hotel Shack on R Augusta that definitely does shorter-term lets. The rainbow flag is Lagoa.
  11. I think that forecasting a shitty trip, a week out, is not a great idea and I hope that the OP does not feel compelled to go back to the drawing board unless it is possible and convenient. I had essentially 6 full days in Bogotá. I would definitely return. I do understand that Medellín has some appealing features. Much has to do with the "luck" of scores. A guy in Chapinero pushed all the right buttons to the level of (my) obsession). But yes, Bogotá is chilly weather-wise. I followed the temperature months ahead and packed accordingly. I had a gas firepit on the terrace and was happy as a clam sitting out there with coffee. However, I walk for hours and prefer cooler weather to keep up energy and stamina. I think that I always had enough small bills to pay for drinks without depending on accurate change returned. Otherwise, I cannot comment on getting rooked. Yeah, the private dance space is one square meter and after one sample I determined was a lost cause. I forgot to mention that ATM withdrawal was exactly at formal exchange points, 0 markup compared to 15% markup at Calforex outlets in Canada. I used BBVA or some other local bank I cannot remember on Carrera 13 just north of Calle 63 (across from the open space Plaza Lourdes), but then discovered a Scotiabank right next door that allowed far greater withdrawal limit.
  12. Ah, OK, found some listings on this site for Bela Vista and Consolação (both considered south zone) ... will list them later. TBC There are some more not listed but that exist, at least on R Augusta which is the only street I assessed due to its ‘red zone’ rep. The national association managing the directory cherry-picks those that lean towards upscale, or perhaps those that want to be affiliated with the Paulista motel sub-association. The director indicated there are hundreds in São Paulo.
  13. The first time I went to Lagoa a sociable local took me up north to this eatery for a late night meal. I was staying in Jardins not far away. It was wildly popular and busy. Hearty fare, decadent desserts. It is open 24 hours! You can access online a ‘read’ of real time relative to average degree of busyness. Bon appetit.
  14. I suggest opening a simple, focused collaborative thread on dining in the vicinity of where many of us will be trekking. Have at it.
  15. The new Lagoa space, rent listed at R$18.000, is about .59PSF monthly (current USD conversion), approximate commercial space comparisons: Atlanta $1.74, Dallas 1.92, SanFran 5.43, NYC 6.16 Based on a 6-day week, an average of about 15 client entries per operating day should cover that part of the overhead, perhaps half that number predicated on one programa suite uptake per entrant. However, I expect that cost recovery for the extensive retrofitting done would take considerable time.
  16. Apparently has now been cancelled, where it existed, starting November for the usual approximate 3.5 months. I think this means a new time difference (from Eastern) range of 1-2 hours, formerly 1-3 hours. In Rio de Janeiro in January, for example, this will mean earlier sunset, in the 18:40 range compared to 19:40 last (our) winter. It will not affect Carnival weekend daylight this year because it falls shortly after when DST customarily ended. Porto Alegre sunset, then, contemporaneously shifts from about 20:30 to 19:30 hours. Salvador has not observed DST since 2012. Sunset will remain about 18:00 hours in January. Granted, this news is irrelevant to those who dash to the moldy cummy corners of local hoo-casa suites directly following midday meal.
  17. I belong to Bains Scandinave where I reside in historical Old Montreal. I go about every second day, and its counterpart in the Laurentian Mountains when I can get away to ski. It is not inexpensive. Properly outfitted water and temp contrast features, as well as the cultural salutary benefits, are ingrained in my lived experience. At this spa there is a frigid dipping pool following various hot exposure components, including powerful jets that have helped spare me the discomfort of borderline yet non-debilitating sciatic discomfort that commenced in my 30’s. There are also code-of-silence relaxation zones. I grew up my first 3 decades (1950s thru 70s) as a 9th generation French Canadian in the northern boreal. Like most families we were blessed with an off-grid summer lake “camp” with a natural fire hot-rock sauna with a water ladle for heat blasts and joyous repeated leaps into pristine freshwater off the adjacent dock, roughly mid-May to mid-October This tradition was, I eventually realized, at least in part, appropriated from the early 20th century Finnish diaspora in northern Ontario. My Finnish-Canadian friends tended to have sauna features at home as well as the ‘cottage’. All this, of course, makes me a spa snob with marvellous memories of idyllic early extended family life. I don’t think I am hydrophobic. Au contraire, perhaps a hydrophilic aficionado. The brothel facilities/features are like (analogously) taking a sponge bath in a drought or detention camp as compared to a decent bathe. No point whatsoever other than a functional wash. We all have our own particular backdrop that influences our take on quality and value. The thematic area in which, in contrast, I hadn’t truly lived, was obviously in the unbridled access to delicious trade. I don’t expect to have the environmental expectations match up perfectly, but please ... Just give me a drink and some pleasant company without cacophonous racket. If someone has their nose out of joint about what I am wearing, they can approach me with their idiosyncratic complaint and I might consider a change if they are going to be so irreversibly rattled by an apparent “assault” on their tunnel-vision conformism hall-monitoring. I don’t like people to suffer unnecessarily and I have fashionable sliders and thongs available anyway. I have had hundreds of great encounters in my lifetime that did not hinge on the arbitrary rituals of bathhouse dynamics. There is more than one way to skin a gato and none is necessarily a cut above any other. Everyone should just autonomously do it the way they want. Don’t get distracted by pedantic arguments about how to present yourself. Absorb the experience at your comfort level. If there were something tangible to embrace about the practical features of Brazil venues, other than the hot stud availability that transcends all, I would consider embracing it. Otherwise, I don’t have a ‘beggars can’t be choosers’ default on this.
  18. Of course, with apologies to Dragula Carrie, but there could be some wriggle room for loud displays of whatever ...
  19. The fly in the ointment regarding the exposure/discretion topic is that online ads “out” the provider. Heck, the ferveção site, a gossip blog, even tracks known gogos branching out into escorting (some are flagged internationally!) and uploads their ads. Wannabe providers are put in a bind. Just brainstorming here, but the business model I would like to see, or that might fly, is a “hustler bar” concept with a satellite love/sex motel. Separate components, but they might be linked in terms of proprietorship. There could be a rotation of staff among the components to help in identifying “bad apples”. There might even be two watering holes: one called Twinkles, the other Studs. Joking aside, I don’t need or typically use any spa features and bathing can occur in the motel room. I douche in privacy, prn, at home anyway before going out. The bar(s) need not be huge with expensive overhead, the problem of large spaces sitting empty the majority of time reduced. The motel need not be contiguous, but should be accessible. The motel date-space profit margins might inflate because the hours of business are not confined to the 6 hour window in current brothel establishments. Like most love hotels, there could be 24-hour booking options for punters if business is slow. The absence of complete site integration might add some flexibility to space procurement complexities. A pipe dream, I realize. But it is so much more work and time to curate programas independently. I prefer to pay to more to have the infrastructure in place and the options laid out with minimal homework required. It is really simply the streetwalker and linked facility model, but providers off the thoroughfare.
  20. He is available. Just message him on his Facebook account.
  21. Erm, drivers do rate you, so careful ... not too much on the nose. Perhaps just ask, in redeeming the coupon, if he doubles as Eats and what does it mean if you need someone to fill in the missing ingredient between the bun halves.
  22. Awwww ... parroting content out of context without grasping the nuances of sarcasm ... there, there, good boy. Keep at it but keep it simple.
  23. Yes, please do reveal what spirits we will be encountering there, Nançylasole ... stranded without your mad gumshoe skills.
  24. I visited and took a few shots last September. Worth a visit in daylight if you are in the vicinity, ie, in transit to Lagoa 2.0, as you are likely passing a cemetery entrance. The Consolação side seemed accessed only at either the extreme east and west ends, otherwise walled. Oddly, there was minimal foot traffic on a Friday afternoon walking from Metro Republica, past Hig-Mack and thru to Paulista, but it was practical to walk north from Sé and then loop westerly to capture many notable sights. However, I do not know if this is an indicator of safety, eg, do locals prefer the underground or other vehicular transport in this section of town? I do recall the sun beating down out in the open, though the cemetery offers considerable deciduous canopy shade. The cemetery is vast but I recall seeing only 2 other visitors during my hour there. The walking distance for underground transfer at Paulista-Consolação is isconsiderably extensive, as the Yellow and Green line access points are rather far apart and and do not share station designation.
  25. I see the site is retooled and added the app function since I researched for motels near Lions a few months ago. However, Alameda only comes up if typed into the search box. Lovetime only came up when clicking a particular coupon box. In the past, it showed in the main list. Similarly, Challon is not delineated in the main list but can be searched. Anyhow, the site is finicky. I cannot seem to access the full listings. Perhaps I will install the app later and see how that works.
