  1. As mentioned, currency is but one economic indicator. The Brasilian market index has been trending fine over a decade.
  2. Agree ... 3 years ago, at a similar trading low, the real began a one-year rally of about 30% in cost that subsequently held reasonably well for about 15 months. Squirreling away now is a good strategy.
  3. Within any given time frame high refers to the highest price that a commodity has traded at; low refers to the lowest price that a commodity has traded at. This means taking the view that one gets, in this case, the same static product for less, as opposed to getting more product for a static price. Though they are essentially both correct. From the perspective of a Brasilian purchasing our stronger currency, eg USD, the currency sold has traded high, based on recent trends. From the point of view of the majority of this board's members, purchasing reais, the currency sold has traded progressively lower of late. The original text in the thread might have more accurately been depicted as exchanging at its highest, ie, getting more for our fixed currency, though the meaning was clear in later strands. Perhaps there are subtle differences between a trade (buy/sell) as understood in the formal marketplace, and an exchange. ----- For the love of god, please nobody ask whether we are now getting more sex or cheaper sex. Either way, fcuked if I know, fcuked if I don't.
  4. I paid about $135USD (no meals) for Hotel Scheuble in May in the desirable area and a half block from Paragonya, modern sleek interior reno with attractive detail in a bldg with classic facade, immaculate and quiet. I thought it might end up being 'crummy' but adequate. It was far from substandard. Airbnb options in Zurich are few and I detected none in the Old Town for my dates. I wanted for nothing, in all respects, so I cannot imagine what the apparent defunct halycon days were like.
  5. The entrance is up the stairs one floor up from street-grade, as some know. It appears to be more in the centre bowel of the building and the space expanding northward. The upper level with cabins may extend as far as the front facade ... I cannot remember if there is a window on the south side of that upper floor. There are definitely some north facing windows on the entrance level, overlooking the minor lane street behind. In the photo, obscured by the tree trunk. I stayed next store and the pedestrian north-south street had all the food choices you could want.
  6. My take on its name is it loosely means "the pinnacle of quality, yes, of course", with paragon, and ya a derivative of jawohl. I hope unraveling the puzzle gets me a complimentary fuck next time.
  7. 1993 is rather meaningless because the modern real was introduced in 1994. Brasil is not the only nation to evolve currency iterations and power up the mint equipment. The more relevant key dates for our purposes are late 1990s when the value was "floated" and dropped to half (about 1:1 to 2:1), and in 2002 when its value reached a modern historic low at about 4:1, similar to the current exchange. Obviously, these figures are USD-centric.
  8. When he/she wakes up in the dark on a flight, does he/she still hear the screaming of the lambs? Me, I just hear the shrieking of unhappy youngsters.
  9. I suggest, redxs, that you summarize for us what you know and where the gaps are. I am a little suprised because you reported previously that you have visited in recent years, you in fact posted during your Rio trip in March, including being in person at 202, and in the Spring your contributions to at least one other poster's questions about muscular talent suggest a good working knowledge of the GdeP scene. For some reason I may fail to grasp, is their something that explains asking questions that one might just as easily pose to you based on your apparent experience? Perhaps you have a particular style of wanting confirmation about things with which you would already have some familiarity. Have you never been to 117 on previous trips? If not, my observation is that there are mesomorphic guys all the time. There are simply more of all body types due to it being a popular night with private space discounts. Following/tracking the discounts ... they are often FB posted ... also provides clues as to popular evenings and where your preferred type may be more in abundance.
  10. These ads of today (a Monday) confuse the question of whether it is a thermas com garotos de programa on weekdays as well as being such on Sundays and more nightclubby on Saturdays ...
  11. After 8,000 km getting there the challenge is being simultaneously in two essential places 8 km apart!
  12. Twunk. I knew there had to be an in-between.
  13. If your name is Ca$h you should have no problem finding any type in Brasil.
  14. To be clear, Dominicans, that is, citizens of Dominican Republic require a traveller's visa. Paper. Citizens of Dominica do not.
  15. I am pretty certain that at Lagoa you'd have to store it at reception due to limited locker size. You might jam-fit a softsided carry-on and personal item in the locker. Personally, I would leave a stowage bag at the hotel or try bagbnb.com ... there is at least one in Vila Mariana. Many bagbnb storages are in hotels anyway. For flights I usually only pack a checked suitcase that contains the most expendable items for a trip anyway. Going forward, I plan to start using bagbnb in Europe because I travel for at least a month and like to take more portable excursions here and there a few days at a time beyond the main landing destination.
  16. Stud on running track is longtime American, born in Venezuela. I am certain you'd have to clear a lot of hurdles to get this far:
  17. It's a dire wolf situation. They are extinct there ... or are they?
  18. Forget rumour ... here are the facts: The USA, Mexico, and Canada are the main countries of destination of recent Cuban emigration flows. However, all hot Cuban guys are prostitutes aiming for settlement in Spain.
  19. There are two nations in the Caribbean whose citizens are Dominican. I am drawing my data regarding Dominicanos from third-country Schengen (I originally misspelled) visa statistics. Alwaysrio, you may be referring to a residence permit or otherwise a long-stay visa application failure. 25% is quite a shitty 90-day visa rejection rate. Cubans' rejection rate is about 10%.
  20. Unlike most Spanish-speaking nations (and Brasil) in the Americas, permitted to enter for 90 of 180-day period, Dominican Republic citizens do require a Shengen visa. The acceptance rate is approximately 75%. Dominicans (emphasis 3rd syllable) are French-speaking and no longer require a visa. Tourist visa holders would need to cross Shengen borders with impunity within the 90 days. If they plan to overstay illegally they are pretty much confined to the country of position approaching visa expiry. (IMHO)
  21. Sorry ... I tried, but the only equine reference that comes is a cowpoke bridling me then greeking me with Trojans.
  22. Probably two different fellows ... the one I read about in an obscure review somewhere (cryptic, as they typically are) was a very tall drink of water. The guy you reference has possibly also been mentioned briefly in review, but I think last name "C" and more social media presence. Sure looks pretty with stand-out iris pigment, but perhaps macho-ish bearing as you describe. Then again, Léo not so scarce a name. Fortunately, compared to Adan, Thermas tends to have all the dating pool required without casting a net into apps. I will PM you about another guy.
  23. I would have no problem directing the driver to get there and would likely hop out at the Petrobras pumps across the road. You cannot pull a U-turn unless comfortable crossing the median curbs. However, it could be trickier having them pick you up to leave. Othon nearby is an easier landmark but the driver still has to manage the cloverleaf. Frankly, I am accustomed to public transit ... the VLT tram is just a few metres west of the club, Antônio Carlos stn, then one stop up to Cinelândia and Metro transfer. Unless it's Saturday Night Viver!
