Our Mugging-Proof Game Plans
Riobard replied to Riobard's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Simple nylon wallet with worthless crap plus a few Metro fares, moderate cash, low-balance non-linked prepaid credit card. An old-ish photo of fake hetero me and fake wife (not shown). -
Our Mugging-Proof Game Plans

Small supply of disabled 'decoy' phones for outer pants pocket. -
Love my new GREGG HOMME swimsuit discovered this weekend, wearable as an undergarment. Two-sided 6-inch front pocket feature where my iPhone snuggles comfortably. Currency bills and cards insertable the other side. No rear-entry crotch opening, but you can't have everything.

In Portuguese, the distinction is less important. If you want to research general murder (noun) in the news you look for assassinato or homicídio ... assassinado for past tense. Using 'assassinate' was but mildly assaultive linguistically. Besides, so many politicians are made to take a dirt nap, they are scooped into the generic 86ed category.

Colombia: full list of hot spots

In terms of biblical carnal knowledge, you will not be able to actualize your tower to the heavens there. Hope you strike gold elsewhere locally, other than the museum. I have a CopaAir credit to use up. I cannot apply it to a higher cost flight but need to find an itinerary that approximates or deceeds its value. Bogota is, therefore, on my radar for a trip next year. -
BT is more appealing in being more globalist and less USofA-centric.

[had an interruption and missed the edit /add deadline] This theme was akin to a game hybrid: Russian Rock-Paper-Scissors Roulette. You want to all be on the same page thrusting out paper, no rock-slinging, no scissor-kick sprint. Calls for dress rehearsal. Well, OK, pull a Little Britain's Matt Lucas exclamation, if you must, over the policia lineup later: "Não, não ele, mas ele ė absolutamente LINDO!"

Is it safe to go to Guadalajara now

I heard that if you accidentally swallow the tequila worm it viloently hatches out of your belly button and relentlessly wreaks havoc everywhere. (Sorry ... couldn't resist). Exhausted and hungry diaspora is not likely going to zombify you. Maybe try to volunteer at an emergency Red Cross hydration station. -
Disagree, at least indirectly. Opportunistic felons with honey badger DNA put them in danger. Being an innocent mark put them in jeopardy. Understandably buying into the illusion of inviolability and not taking coordinated group precautions opened the vulnerability. Our lizard brain makes a snap decision. The split-second in-a-blink-think usually serves us well in most circumstances. Freeze, fight, flight ... all viable self-preservational impromptu responses. We have now had an inservice training, fortunately without casualities, on how to better engage our more complex reaction sets. I usually practise being the guy in my North American city that the retail security guard tracks with his eyes and flight path. And lock down valuables up against my sweaty mischief zones when out and about in crime-endemic environments. I will now add to my playbook a mock-up prep drill with any new fellow visitor joining me out in public. They balk? Bounce alone, bitch.

A corollary question: is Doug Stamper up to the required janitorial tasks?

True 'nuf, but johns also bone a part of them typically linked to ignominy.

Refused at checkin from Brazil to Cuba

Who wouldn't happily get poked with YF vaccine for this FG fellow? -

Swipe left to right for increasing freedom and safety ... Guyana is more Caribbean in values. Sodomy law technically remains on the books. Suriname more relaxed but do not expect Netherlands-level openness. No mixing of same-sex surnames. French Guiana law follows that of France. Gay marriage is legal. And imported champagne likely cheaper. -
It took me a whole week to get bounced there a while ago ... boomeranged back under a different address with my trenchcoat more buttoned up.

Maybe was a recently turned white suburban female who had been catfishing here?

Assuming the event is true, the relevant club's press secretary would likely be lodged between a rock and a hard place. On the one hand, a harsh lesson in the pros of keeping your play on the premises, thereby maintaining safety profit one side and profit margin other side. On the other hand, expanding the penumbra around the club-based sex trade enterprise and rousing far from dormant zombie-grade homonegativity among the fundamentalist rabble.

The D-K effect has been applicable to AIDS denialism and Vaccine conspiracy theory. A number of additional human tendencies help explain these illusions of confidence in knowledge and beliefs. For example, the WYSIATI rule: what you see is all there is. The human mind does not easily integrate new information when the previous story made the bare minimum of sense and was just comfortable enough. It has been adaptive and essential to human survival to rapidly and rigidly lock together a relatively small number of puzzle pieces. And Trump is relatable to so many supporters because he masterfully yet unwittingly mirrors the virtually limitless capacity to ignore one's own ignorance. His simplemindedness is, paradoxically, his greatest strength with many constituents. His developmental evolving to grasp what he does not know would be his unmaking ... he would not be able to drag his base along that learning curve and it would fragment the connective identification. What is a central catch phrase these days? ... It [he] is what it is ... Elegantly simplistic. Covers information and nonevents alike. There is little more to know about Trump. Everyone believes his/her own version. Nothing really much new, whereas, in contrast, people might be thrown off by information supporting that Hitler loved puppies and infants in swaddling clothes. Sadly, that is a more credible narrative. My personal narrative of Trump is that any apparent fondness for pooches and babies is self-serving.
