  1. Fashionable lesbians, perhaps. Not so much the masculine-looking militants. America is too large and too diverse to compare to anything in France, which is smaller than the state of Texas. Also, the French have a distinct, historical culture, steeped in tradition. Not really sure where gays fit into that, male or female. The average French man is slender and effeminate or androgynous. Kind of reminds me of certain Asian cultures. Most French gays are not attracted to hyper-masculinity or roid-types.
  2. What a silly supposition. Perhaps it was an attempt at humor? Our straight male culture may love a girl-on-girl fantasy, but the girls better be pretty, buxom, and slender, and they better love sucking cock. I don't know many lesbians who fall into that category. In many ways, lesbians get more public disdain than gay males. Lesbians do not have an easy time assimilating into hetero culture, especially conservative communities. Unlike gay males, I don't know many lesbian hairdressers.
  3. Not just Trump. With Hannity and Kimmel swinging "ignorant asshole" at each other over Caitlyn Jenner, I'm afraid the future will be nothing but cheap shots from every corner of life. Once the slingshots are swung so low and becomes normalized by famous and powerful people, I don't see how civility ever comes back.
  4. LOL. It's a cheap shot, but I love it.
  5. People do tell me I stand out in a crowd. Perhaps it's the dresses I wear?
  6. LOL. Yes, exactly...a tall, handsome, masculine White guy, whom most strangers think is straight. Yes, he's got plenty of reason to be embarrassed. The closet is rarely pretty, no matter what your skin color.
  7. If an openly gay actor presents himself as queeny or fem, and the gay role calls for butch and masculine, is the I-didn't-get-the-job really discrimination? If the part calls for a blond and the gay actor is brunette, same thing. The word discrimination is often used as a scapegoat and a red herring. So many actors who audition are simply not right for the part. Only one actor gets the job. I've never understood homophobia in Hollywood, except for the fact that straight men do dominate the industry. However, gays are everywhere in this industry, too, and they've been here since the beginning. There are many gay men (and women) who wield a lot of power in show business. Being accepted and supported by the gatekeepers is another story. And we all know, sometimes acting talent does not matter, especially if you have that certain look. Casting is a business that most people outside of show business don't understand. Great casting directors and great A&R talents share a similar sensibility and sensitivity that is very difficult to explain. I'm not sure these special talents are teachable. Generally speaking; chemistry, appearance, and actual "acting" talent play the most dominant role when casting an actor, but appearance usually sits at the top of the list. Most creators have a specific vision of what a character should look like. If the writer has not spelled those details out, the producer/director most likely will have the strongest opinion and input. Unless you present yourself as an "OUT actor," no one is going to actually know what an actor does in his private life. Even in the presence of rumors, no one will know for sure unless you have personal, intimate experience with the actor. Or the actor speaks his truth to you privately. Everything else is assumption. And you could very easily be dead WRONG.
  8. Ellen’s Relatability Was Her Downfall
  9. The group that finds such hiring not cool may be loud, but I suspect they are small in number. Actors are hired to "act." IMO, an actor's talent to perform a role should have no correlation to their personal sexual identity. If a gay guy can win a gay character part, more power to him. Otherwise, most directors are going to be looking at other things, and those "things" may have absolutely nothing to do with one's sexual preferences.
  10. When you care about the people who work hard for you, especially after putting in all those years, it's very difficult to tell them it's over. After all, when her show closes, a lot of people will be out of a job. Employers like Ellen are not a dime a dozen. I'm sure many felt the job was a dream come true.
  11. I agree. For politicians, law enforcement, and perhaps sexual abusers, outing should be open season. For everyone else, it's none of our business. However, in this age of the internet, especially with the profiteering of social media, I don't see how anyone can reasonably expect to keep sexual secrets anymore. The marketplace is way too hungry for information, especially if the scent of scandal exists. If anyone has dreams of being famous, they need to consider every aspect of their life being scrutinized, possibly to the day they die. I don't see this changing moving forward.
  12. Looks like Ellen decided to hang up the towel. I'm not surprised. Too bad her show has to go out with a stain attached. Can't fault her for wanting to do something more challenging. IMO, she just should have come straight with that from the get-go. Ellen DeGeneres Will End Her Talk Show Next Year
  13. LOL. Tell that to the guy who sucked my cock in the steam room but asked me not to acknowledge him on the gym floor. Another LOL. Perhaps the phrase "went out" when Craigslist stopped posting guy-meets-guy personals. Every other BBC ad had DL in it.
  14. Especially when it's true.
  15. LOL. What uber-chic, uber-woke queen in his right mind would ever be caught on Facebook?
  16. It's not surprising to me, either. However, the Obama administration was notorious for coming down hard on leakers to the media. The media made a big deal out of it at the time. Obama was very respected, so his minions were much more loyal. Trump could only dream, so he relied on Humpty Dumpty Barr.
  17. It's too bad some of you don't appreciate JKane's humor. I love the fact that he finds some of the funniest screenshots I've ever seen, and is brave enough to post them here where the copyright rules are ill-defined and hypocritical. I know plenty of Kissinger haters who would love this one. It made me chuckle. Lighten up guys. Humor is the best food for the tired, angry soul.
  18. Especially in America. I definitely see a path. I know several researchers who work at the NIH. The path to herd immunity will take much longer than necessary, and a lot more people will need to get sick and die from the virus. Hospitals will taking necessary precautions for many years to come. Eventually, Covid will become one more deadly virus we will have to guard against, until enough vaccinations take place. Trump and his history related to the virus will eventually die. The politics around Covid will die, too. However, this complication is a serious mark against America. Our country is much too divided now, and the division does not bode well for the future.
  19. There were certainly plenty of gays in the early 80's willing to die for their right to spread HIV. Bath house closings were just one controversy that many gays foolishly fought against at the time. Nothing, not even AIDS, could keep a gay sex addict down. Until it did. We sure do. Speaking of mandatory, here's another fact most Trump voters don't know. If a production team wants to take a crew to Giuliani's offices to do an interview, the producer has to prove he has a multi-million-dollar insurance policy that protects every member of the guest production team before any member of the team can enter the building's service elevator. Proof of possessing the multi-million-dollar insurance policy is mandatory. If you can't prove you have it, you will not be allowed to enter the building to do your work. There are many jobs that have mandatory requirements. I'm completely in favor of businesses telling their employees: If you aren't vaccinated for Covid, DO NOT come to work. I'm also in favor of vaccine travel passports. Just tell me where the line is to board First Class.
  20. When it comes to public health and safety, I'm all for mandatory requirements. This is the only way to protect non-infected people from the idiots of our world. You can't step foot onto a film set without mandatory Covid testing. How about multiple tests. The union rules are astounding, all there to protect their members. Unfortunately, Trump politicized the virus, which is the very worst thing any leader could do. Trump was never a leader. Just a liar and a manipulator. His followers will avoid getting the vaccine, which may end up keeping Covid around for a very long time for the rest of us to deal with. I view this behavior as a crime, and I wish he could be charged. All Trump has to do to fix the problem: go on Fox TV and tell his cult following to get vaccinated. But he won't do that, even though his entire family has been vaccinated. I wish Biden would privately and then publicly ask him anyway, just so his refusal would bury him further in the annals of history.
  21. My goodness. Had I known Lookin's thoughtful intentions expressed elsewhere, my snark would have been tamed. Hooboy had family, albeit suffering from the shock of his closeted life. Not sure they ever had the chance, ability, or desire to wrap their brains around the value concept of an x-rated "gay escort" website. Behavior after death is never predictable under normal conditions. Oz can speak for himself, but I suspect he's long past throwing money at Hooboy's legacy. Furthermore, what value do OLD reviews really have? Other than feeding old men's fantasy reading, I'm not seeing much. What value does old queen-chat have? Who is using these boards to plan anything that resembles current sexual behavior/practice? I suspect the numbers are extremely small. Reviewing sex falls very much into the "instant gratification" category. Everything else is just last year's news, especially with Covid. But then again, so many years are knocked off escort's lives as they age, many horny men look at the info foolishly believing it was just written yesterday. IMO, there is no question Oz is capable of merging the boards, but at this point, given the state of porn, sex-for-money, and copyright in America, why would he (anyone) want to take on more work for less money? I'm not that smart, but it never hurts to consult an estate lawyer when attempting to acquire unclaimed personal property after a death. I've hired a few estate lawyers in my day. I've been the executor of too many estates, thanks to AIDS. The laws differ from state to state, which makes finding info (and a good lawyer) more complicated. In general, it can take a year or longer, to determine if no blood relatives exist. The courts move very slowly in these matters. If property is stolen and found out later, lawsuits can be filed. Any fool wanting to put his foot and wallet into this pool is nothing more than a fool. But it seems there is no shortage of gay men willing to donate money to something or someone, all to feed a fantasy or a horny indulgence. Good luck to them all. I've been known to do crazy things to satisfy an itch. The lessons I've learned...
  22. Good luck with that.
  23. LOL. Buying it from whom? Silly queens.
  24. I am definitely in mourning over this one. Olympia and I go way back. She was an amazing talent, a delicious friend, a witty intellect, and I know very few in Hollywood with hearts and souls as big as hers. I loved her. This is a very sad time for those whose lives she touched.
  25. Your arrogant rudeness is noted. Probably not. I simply find the entire event interesting, along with the behavior of certain gay men. I remember well how Bill was accused of stealing Hooboy's property after Hooboy's sudden and unexpected death. Except, Bill had volunteered for Hooboy for many years, so several of us defended Bill's actions, feeling he was due a little latitude. As I mentioned earlier, I remember Bill writing on his board after Hooboy's death that he thought he might have IT access to some older reviews. He said he did not have access to the entire archive, but he was hoping to salvage some of it. If my memory is correct, and Bill followed through on retrieval, in essence, he may have stolen some of Hooboy's archives to build his own review site, possibly without Hooboy's family knowing or caring. But, I have no idea what details make up the truth. Personally, I don't care what happens to Bill's stuff. Anyone who has no will and no beneficiaries pretty much says all that needs to be said. Those of us who have serious love in our life do what we have to do to protect that love once we are gone.
