Brazil reopened to tourists
Latbear4blk replied to Riobard's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
And you know what, @sluttino? My mood is changing as often as Brazilian boys change their phone numbers. Very often. I have time to change my mind until November, and get a 100% refund from my current booking. I may end in.a nearby beach house, who knows. -
It's official: Trump Is History, Says The Prediction Professor

We could find a lot of wrongs to point out in the Dems and their anti Trump coalition. Trump allies are doing a very good job about it in this forum. I would rather focus on making sure EVERYONE you can reach to goes to vote or submit a vote via email. Once the election is over, if Biden wins, we will have a lot of lobbying to do to fight the moralists and the Conservative in the winning coalition. -

Thank you, that's good advice. Before you shared I had researched both, Buzios and Angra dos Reis, and intermediate locations. There are many very interesting houses. I just feel too new to rent a house in Brazil, still developing my knowledge, and my decision was for Recreo dos Bandeirantes. The place is already booked. -

Who knows, I may actually end going to the saunas in November. In the Brazilian Amazon, a sharp drop in coronavirus sparks questions over collective immunity -

@floridarob, I am not sure whether or not we can team up for hunting without trying to steal each other preys, but if I were in SP, I would be reaching out to this guy: https://twitter.com/kevinnurff -
Oh, I agree. We have men and women with almost adult functional metabolisms, and the character and emotional needs of little children. If you do not believe me, look at Tasso. LOL.

Do no diminish it, please. It is a whole Fucksgiving WEEK. -
I understand and makes sense. Reading the books in the 12th grade doesn't surprise me. I do not see teens at that age as children, but in that weird no one's land adolescence is.

Done. I just booked a 2 BRs apartment with a small terrace right by Posto 9 of Praia do Recreo. I am bringing a beauty from Porto Alegre to stay the whole week with me. I am negotiating for a few more visitors, a few days each. Now let's hope Bolsonaro or Trump do not get between Paradise and me. -
You were reading Faulkner in your childhood, @AdamSmith?

It's official: Trump Is History, Says The Prediction Professor
Latbear4blk replied to stevenkesslar's topic in Politics
I am not sure we are comparing apples to apples here. 40% of Americans support a mysoginist, xenophobic, nationalist, homophobic, scandalously ignorant man. Perhaps we all believe in imaginary people and places. The places and the people we imagine, though, are radically different. -

Yes! I had just read the translated article in a conservative Argentine newspaper I check every morning. Coronavirus. Allan Lichtman: "La respuesta de Trump a la pandemia condenó su reelección" I agree with Meacham. It is very clear. My political distance from Biden and the Democrats is absolutely irrelevant in front of such a clear, easy option to make. However, I do not have confidence in the outcome of the election. Although polls and social scientists predictions seem to be very encouraging, I am afraid of sentient people becoming over confident and giving another win to the loonies. Even if Biden wins, I am still concerned. What does it say of America that Donald Trump has the support he has, even after everything he has done? It is not only White Supremacy, but also a core selfish individualism incapable of empathy and socio economic cooperativism. Let's see. Right now, let's work on expanding the anti-trump coalition. We can discuss our differences once Biden-Harris are on charge. -

Yes, sir. But here, he is almost always in the screen, and almost always showing his beautiful upper torso shirtless, or very lightly dressed. -

Definitely, I am planning my expedition in November, moving away from fantasy territory. It is going to be very different to my previous experiences. Usually, I would stay in Copacabana to be closer to my favorite sauna, but I am not planning to hang out in indoors places this trip. I am exploring airbnbs in Recreio dos Bandeirantes and close to Praia Grumari. It is an area I have not explored much, but liked a lot in my few visits. Hopefully, I will find a roomy an open apartment with a terrace, as I am going to hang out there with the boys more than usual. I am aware than November may deliver a rainy week for me, so I want a place that does not feel crowded with 3/4 people. Ideally, I would prefer to find a place at walking distance to go to Grumari and the protected area over there, without calling an Uber, but there is always the chance to rent a car to travel with my party, as most of the places I am checking include free parking. I have a question for those with more experience and knowledge of Rio. Besides Praia Grumari, what other interesting places can you visit in the area? I am looking for nature, and I do not like heights (I have never visited the Pão de Açúcar, or the Cristo, and I am not planning to). I do love water, if anyone knows of a port or marina where I could rent equipment for superficial scuba diving. We will probably cook and call deliveries mostly, but tips on good restaurants would also be appreciated. I have been in a few posts on Avenida Estado da Guanabara where the food was quite good. I am not high maintenance, I prefer to eat what the locals eat and avoid the Brazilian experience adapted for international tourism as much as possible. I know it is challenging in areas nearby the beaches, but if anyone knows of any places, please let me know. -

I just watched the first episode of this new HBO series. Very promising. Just drooling for Jonathan Majors makes it worthy to watch, but it is a very well written, performed, and produced TV. I wish HBO followed Netflix model and released the whole series at once. -

Just follow floridarob and numazu1, they are reporting right now from YOLO Land. -
Biden surprised me. The last times I had seen him he looked and sounded decrepit. Not last night, though. I wonder what enhancer he was high on. Anyway, it was the speech you can expect from a Center Right candidate. Now let's hope the tensions inside the anti Trump coalition and the idiots playing around them do not ruin everything. We have work to do.

I just had a flash back and called my siblings to help me up to reconstruct this memory. Many years before I read The Little Prince, I was fascinated with Monteiro Lobato's stories. It is a blurred memory from the 60's. My family was living in Buenos Aires, but both of my parents were from a small town in Corrientes, in the Argentinean Mesopotamia. In the 60s there was not paved highway and no bridges to travel to Corrientes. We would board a huge steam boat in Buenos Aires and sail three days up the Paraná river. Then we would switch to a smaller boat to sail the Corriente river (not deep enough for the big steam boat) and in a few hours would arrive to our destination, Esquina. The name of the town comes from being right in the corner where two huge rivers meet. Esquina was a small town with two parallel main avenues and two major squares. Phone numbers were up to three digits, and you had to call the operator to connect you. The milk man would walk the town early in the morning, and deliver his still warm, just milked fresh product. Everybody had chickens in the backyard, and the first thing you would do in the morning was opening the house front door, to keep it wide open all day long. My grandfather (a dark skinned Uruguyan that I like to imagine gifted me with a few African gens, besides being a man slut with many women and illegitimate children, hell yes I feel identified) was one of the town butchers, with a stand in the local Central Market. I will never forget his fresh pork chorizos. There was one main church, one movie theater, one bar/cafe (una "confitería"), and yet many. many "panaderías". Back then it was the golden age for the traveling vendors. The town had una "Escuela Normal", the kind of high schools that educated K-7 teachers, and a population very fond of reading. Traveling vendors from different publishers would arrive and suddenly in all living rooms you would find the same new books collections. All families had the same edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica, the same dictionary in three fat volumes with dark green covers, the same cooking book by Doña Petrona de Gandulfo. All my relatives also had a collection of light green books by Monteiro Lobato, translated from the original Portuguese. "El Rancho del Pájaro Amarillo". I spent so many hours reading those books and dreaming about traveling around the world and across time! I had completely forgotten this sweet memory. Thanks for this thread, @TotallyOz.

This site is indeed the "Enciclopedia Putánica". Joke for the Romance language proficient.
