Friends, after more than two years dodging the bug, I tested positive for COVID-19 last Monday. Fortunately, I had gotten the bivalent booster the weekend before, and the symptoms have been relatively mild. The worse was three days of a near unbearable pain (sore is not enough as a descriptor) in my throat. And an unexpected and quite welcomed side effect: I have lost my legendary and bottomless appetite. I did not lose any of my senses, just my appetite. I have lost 7 pounds, and a half slice of my favorite chocolate cake is still sitting in my fridge since yesterday! I do not recognize myself. If this lack of appetite is here to stay, this may be actually good news. I am glad I got it right now, the timing is perfect to guarantee a great fuckgiving trip to Rio in a few weeks. Now I fit in my old bikini.

Friends, will you ever learn? Do not feed the troll.

Lima Peru - candidate for longer stay
Latbear4blk replied to iendo's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Venezuelans are spread all over the continent, from Mexico to Argentina, including Brazil. He did not say that all Venezuelans moved to Peru or that none moved to Brazil. They are everywhere, specially in national capitals and big cities. -

Racism and classism logically overlap. I have never been to Peru, but the litany classism vs racism sounds very familiar. Argentines sing that song, and it is just denial. Racism is prevalent in all south of the USA cultures I know. It is not the same brand of Racism that is mainstream in the US, but it is perhaps even stronger as awareness in these issues have been raising only during the last two to three decades. As it is different than theirs, Americans (specially White Americans) often fail to recognize it, but Argentina's is a very Racist culture. I know that Uruguay, Paraguay, Colombia, and the South of Brazil are also cultures definitively Racist. I actually think that the focus on race is misleading, and hopefully globalization will not infect all our cultures with the American way. Rather than thinking it mainly from the point of view of race, and speaking of White Supremacy (where White means Anglo Saxon), I look at it from a more culture focused perspective. I look at it as European Supremacy, which is more comprehensive than White S, and gives more visibility to the Native American cultures suppressed by the invasion. I am unsure about Peru, Bolivia, and Mexico, because those are cultures that have built a bridge with their pre columbian history. Their native cultures form part of their national identities and histories, unlike the USA or the countries I listed in the first paragraph. Their fight against European Supremacy is older and more successful, to the point that Bolivia is nowadays a fascinating experiment of syncretism. But even in Bolivia Racism highlights the clash between the Europeist White Bolivians and their Indigenist brothers. -
You are in Rio. Order a caipirinha or a caipiroska.

Meh. Troubling, indeed. Interesting? I do not think so. It happens all the time, everywhere, and it has always happened all the time and everywhere.

Please, before reading the article posted above by one of the new racist forum members, take a read to this disclaimer available on the same webpage: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/about/disclaimer/ If you then read the article, it is easy to understand how a research that includes a 30 subjects sample and categories as not rigorous as "African American", "Caucasian", or "East Asian", is published there. The only valid conclusion for this research is that the Black guys they chose for their study (only 10) tended to sweat more. Racism, ignorance, and stupidity always parade together.

Remember, all the Paraná river region is Yerba Mate kingdom. Sharing saliva while sharing bombillas is mainstream. -
Cuba approves same sex marriage by a referendum
Latbear4blk replied to KYTOP's topic in The Beer Bar
LOL. I am running back to South America as soon as I can. But do not waste your time with this debate. When you are an ignorant self centered Gringo, you only see boats fleeing to your amazing democracy. -

Really? I have exactly the opposite impression. -
Cuba approves same sex marriage by a referendum
Latbear4blk replied to KYTOP's topic in The Beer Bar
Not really, I am just making a deduction from @floridarob's opinion. I do think the blockage is enforced and have dire consequences on Cuba's economy, and I do think that the world has much to work from Cuba's education and health systems. Finding American sodas in the island does not mean the sanctions are not working. -

I disagree. However, you are making a strong point against the sanctions. If they are economically ineffective and instead provide the Revolution with a propaganda tool, why to keep them? -
Am I just dumb or is this the most cryptic of yours posts ever?

I respectfully disagree. Patriotism is one of the most shameful and laziest values. Too many Gringos are quick to judge other nations flaws, while staying fully blind at their own miseries. Few things are more pathetic than someone not recognizing criticism and bringing up some lame excuse. -

So good to know that there is a sound safety plan in place! Otherwise, look at me in December:

I would love to connect. It would be such an honor that you'd change your plans! When you arrive on 30/31, I would already be a veteran, after almost a full week of runaway-slutting.

I suggest a theory with no scientific pretension. Just teasing you and @floridarob. Devil's breath may not be an urban myth. It may be real, although the possibilities of being a DB victim may be near zero. However, when you are a runaway international slut, your life experience surely involve samples of even de less probable incidents.
