I think it is a playful euphemism. I have mentioned boytoy several times without consequences. However, just as here, it is customary to say “the other site”.
-
What were you saying @AdamSmith about the quality here?
-
Preventable? The guy was his boyfriend. The only way to say this was preventable is if you believe in the "malos hombres" theory. You know, you should never trust a Mexican.
-
I’m doing what I can, look at the new folder Oz created for escorts reviews. At Daddys my adventures in DC hace immediate responses. Perhaps boytoy has an international appealing and Daddy’s a more local focus? I have commented about this before, based on the traffic I am getting in my blog. Boytoy gave me a lot of hits for my post about Joel from Buenos Aires, but not do many from my DC boys.
-
That is slightly better. So you are saying the reviews give them traffic. We do have traffic here, the question is why it is silent. A friend reached out to me through PM at Daddy's suggesting his explanation, aligned to @Suckrates's theory. He says he visits this site and read the messages but he does not want to post because does not want to be associated with a place called boytoy. It is just one case, but perhaps it is something to consider.
-
Yes, I did notice over there a preference for the older gentlemen, and I do remember pejorative comments made in the other site about boytoy's name. It would not be bad to have two places targeting different niches. But the question remains, why do people here do not want to share? We had this conversation before and you think people into twinks is ashamed and afraid of the pedophile stigma, but it does not make sense to me. Internet is supposed to be the place where marginalized people come out hidden behind fantasy avatars.
-
So you are telling me there is more participation because there is more participation. Not a wise reasoning path.
-
@unicorn, I am not into beating Daddy, but I do take your first point. Let's accept the only advantage of the other site is participation, even when I disagree. My new question would then be, why do people participate so actively under Daddy's soulless tyranny and do not open their sexy mouths under Oz's democratic paradise?
-
One more thing, that someone else posted I do not remember who or where. Another factor to consider is the software here. It is not as user friendly as the interface over there, and it has plenty of glitches, at least for me (I used a Mac and Safari).

I think I get your point, just try to understand the points I am making. You are pretty literate on psychology and self reflection, so you should concede that an argument that places mediocrity somewhere else and leaves you in the side of the insightful contributors is suspicious. And you know I think you are a insightful contributor, my problem is not about you but about your argument. You would have a strongest point if we had a higher quality participation here. Out of this short time I have been participating in both sites, I do not think so. I see a diverse quality in both websites. Yes, here you have less examples of blatant stupidity, but It is easier not to sound stupid when you do not say anything, and things here are pretty quite when we are not discussing the other site. I have no certainty about anything I am saying. You may be right. I am just suggesting that perhaps you are wrong, that perhaps there are other reasons to explain the high level of participation over there, that perhaps have to do with something useful people do not find here. I am not sure what, I am just posing a possibility. Perhaps what you see as a decline in quality is a generational shift. After a couple of decades of Digital Age language and communication are changing. Perhaps, maybe, you are still evaluating quality with standards from the Gutenberg Age instead of the Digital Age. I have no firm convictions about any of the possible reasons to explain the live exchange over there and the silence here. I do have a deep distrust for explanations that place somewhere else the problem and leave me feeling better than others. I am not saying they are not valid and possible explanations, I am just sharing my natural distrust for them and the comfort they bring.

Thank you @TotallyOz, I agree the idea is to foster diversity. I do not have to choose and I do not choose, I like having more than one place to enjoy and contribute to. @AdamSmithI love you even when you address me condescendingly. I thought I had already addressed before your argument about quality. Let me repeat myself. If you want a place with high traffic and participation you have to learn to accept and be able to productively interact with all kind of participants. Besides, when you state your superiority over others you are often communicating more about you than about the others. My concern since I started participating here has never been a competition to establish which one is the best place or service. My concern has been bringing more traffic to boytoy because I do highly value the input of people who is here and not in the other site, Adam amongst them. The pity bitching against each other is not my thing, I want to understand I do not want to win any quarrel.

I do want to know, the problem is that a line of reasoning like "we are few but we are better" sounds like self reinforcing bull shit. If you have anything better, I am willing to read.

The use of WhatsApp in Argentina is massive. I am not sure about the phone numbers system. I know they have different prefixes for land lines or for cell phones, but they have changed the system already three times since I left, so I am not sure where it stands now. I am surprised the numbers stated in soytuyo do not work. Did you try to reach their customer service? Perhaps they can help you.
-
Really Adam? You are not the only one, it looks like many are picking reasons to explain the other site success that make you feel better, rather than actually trying to assess reality. So I let you feel better.
-
Unicorn discard as unimportant the very biggest advantage of the other site: participation.
-
I spoke too soon. We are back to dead silence.
-
Hey, I may be on my way to become a classic in the other site, but in here I am a newbie. I started participating just a few weeks ago, may be a month? I am too lazy to check.
-
Besides the fact that the hot thread right now is about the other site (because I think it is clearly established that wether or not @TotallyOz likes it, Drama from the other Kingdom is often the major source of traffic here), do you not notice an increase in the participation during the last week or so? Is BoyToy resuscitating? Is BoyToy going to be to Daddy's what I hope Rentboy.pro will be for Rentmen: competition? Am I wishful-thinking?
-
Fluffy, be careful coming in into a new place.
-
No sir, what I said is that when you have a lot of people participating, some of those people are going to display ignorance, mediocrity, and stupidity. Actually, it looks like you do not have to be a very crowded discussion board to deal with ignorance, mediocrity, and stupidity.
-
Why he deservs respect is obvious to me, but I would be wasting my time explaining what is obvious to me to a group of people who have made their minds and are not likely to consider any reasons that may challenge their opinions. So I am not going to waist my time. Let me add that to be a group as sophisticated as you think you are, you show an extraordinary lack of ability to move beyond personal quarrels and contemplate the whole picture. Measured on traffic and influence, the other site is way more successful than this one. When you have that level of participation you should put aside your elitist aspirations and enjoy diversity. If you cannot deal with mediocrity, ignorance, and stupidity you are doomed to interact with a few like minded people.

I may be wrong, I probably ma considering my relationship with him is the shortest one compared to you all, but I respect him more than you all do. I have questioned him before and did not suffer any consequence. Time will tell.
-
I disagree, Fluffy. I think I brought the issue in a way that was not defiant. When I call B at the beginning of my post it is, I understand, a sign of respect. Also, when you do things in the open, it brings more traffic.
-
I agree. I believe in full disclosure. Only when your intentions are not honest you need to hide.
