  1. I just flew from Salvador to São Paulo on Tam and from São Paulo to Rio on Gol, round trip in each case. I checked one back of 25 kilos on each trip and had no excess baggage fee on any of the four flights.
  2. That is a damned shame! the photos added a great deal to the overall experience of the site.
  3. [quote name="mvan1" post="142576" timestamp= All in all, for your first trip to Brazil, you seem to be weathering Brazil as a "first timer" fairly well. True indeed. It has been a blast, thanks largely to the generosity of people like you. I do however sometimes wish I had taken the advice of the person who pointed me to this forum. " Read but don't participate. They are knowledgeable but not welcoming" While that doesn't fairly represent my experience, I can tell where it comes from.
  4. Different poster- same bitchy disrespect on your part though. The way social media works is that we each express our view and later readers decide for themselves which to believe and which to discard. A forum that consists of identical reviews ultimately has little value. And when new posters are discouraged, the site becomes a conversation between old friends who reinforce each other's opinions. This site has potential to be an open, honest informative exchange rather than a front porch knitting circle.
  5. I entered with high expectations, fed by the years of positive reviews. I left wishing they'd move the Olympics to Salvador or São Paulo. Just a bunch of bored looking muscle guys standing around. I guess this sauna survives on the strength of what it used to be. This was, by far, the worst sauna experience of the trip. And, unless caipirinhas cost R$55, I was ripped off by the house too.
  6. I have to be in belgrade for a few days and was wondering what the scene is like there?
  7. I have found the "strictly top" rule to much like that in Brazil... they bottom so long as there is no chance of others finding out. The biggest problemis the language barrier while negotiating such things.
  8. while it has only been a few days, I most love th "live and let live" attitude I find here. Everyone here seems to be doing his own thing and content to let her do hers. It's refereshing after so much " I wonder what he is getting up to" in the states. And, of course, I love the way the typical person on the street is hotter than the global average. Thse are some goodlooking people!

  10. "And how can one go to Salvador de Bahia -- the place with the largest concentration of people of African descent outside of the African continent, and the place where the majority of the African slaves were dropped off during the slave trade, a place where over 90% of its inhabitants have African blood in them -- and NOT notice or discuss color?" Not to mention that the historic city center is called Pelourinho. A pelourihno being a whipping post, like the huge one that used to be up the hill from the Church of the Black Rosary for 350 years. Lots of colonial towns had a designated place for the public torture of captive people. Only Salvador built the city AROUND it.
  11. ^^^^ What SoulSolace said! I'm a newby. so, I was unaware that I was supposed to tailor my posts to conform to a post- racial color blindness. Had I known, I never would have bothered to join in the conversation. Perhaps there are people who can go to Brazil and not see the racial element. I'm not one of them and have no desire to be.
  12. I didn't need a guide for the saunas. But I wasn't chasing boys 24/7. The guide was an amazing and economical way to get to know a lot about the city in a very short time. I would have been delighted with his service even if we had never discussed the saunas. I went to Lagoa in SP tonight. And, while Diogo and Lucas made the evening memorable, I miss Salvador.
  13. From the dudes he was cruising during our tour, I can tell that Fernando has a type. In the USA we might call that type rough trade. I suspect that is why he prefers Persona. By the way, all of the whitest people I saw in Bahia were at Sauna Fox the night I went. These guys were "grandma is from Italy or Portugal' white, not " we dont talk about grandma" white....not that there's anything wrong with that. It was just startling in such a cafe con leche city. Rodrigo was the only garoto there who was my type..tall, fit mulato. The selection was clealy better at Planetario.
  14. I just returned from a pleasant visit to Sauna Fox and would like to share. Planetario 11, the other, larger garoto sauna in Salvador is like a San Francisco Bathhouse that also has rentboys. Sauna Fox, by comparison, is like the clubhouse of a suburban golf club that also has rentboys. The Facility: Sauna Fox is nicer, brighter and better maintained. Imagine a large one story ranch house, with a tented patio and surrounded by a high wall. You enter through the bar/restaurant, where decent drinks and clubhouse type food are available. There is just one locker room where clients and the guys all dress. There are legit massage tables and rooms. As you go deeper into the building, its real purpose becomes more apparent. There is a large communal shower ( with hot water unlike at P11) and stairs leading up to rooms with screens playing porn. Apparently the cabins are free. The Clients: Older, whiter and seemingly richer than at P11. The median age tonight had to be 60 with the typical client looking like he had just dropped off the grandkids. At P11, the locals were 30 and 40-somethings out to have a guaranteed good time. I may have been the only foreigner in the Fox building and was one of only 3 Black clients. Everyone seemed to know one another and greeted each arriving client cordially. altogether there were 30 or so clients. The Boys: The guys were younger, on average, than at P11 with a decidedly less muscle man, more twink feel. There were also many more white gorotos than at P11. There were a few past their prime garotos, apparently filling a niche for 40-something garotos among 60 or even 70 something clients. altogether, there were about a dozen boys. The prices: The entrance fee was R$33 and the suite rental was R$30. This compares to $25 for both at P11. Drinks were similar --R$5 for local beer R$10 or so for imports. the programa may be cheaper here. When I asked my chosen guy how much, he said 80. At P11 everybody started with R$100 My experience. When I walked in, it was clear that I wasnt a regular. The "legit" massuer attached himself to me and became my guide at the request of the front desk guy. After the brief tour, I sat down at a table in the bar/restarant to get a beer and take in the sights. the dude sat down with me and wouldnt go away. When he got up to go to the bathroom, I made a dash for the back of the building. While there, I ran into a tall, 23yo chocolate adonis named Rodrigo who was washing off in the communal shower. He sensed my appreciation and the dance began. Active, he says, but clarifies that he is liberally so when my face drops. He talks me into engaing the suite, making me think he is somehow incentivised to do so. Once inside, he was all over me with no holds or holes barred. A great time was had by all. Later, I met Angelo, one of the past his prime guys. he was nice and a year in Spain resulted in fluent Spanish. So, finally I could have a full conversation with someone. He isnt my type but I offered to cover his entry fee for giving me someone to talk to.
  15. P11 is three floors. You enter on the second floor which contains the locker rooms, the bar and the check in desk. The steam room, cold showers and a multipurpose room are on the bottom floor. The top floor contains a small, dark theater and 5-6 rooms and suites. The goarotos were nearly all as you describe for 117. Im told that there are two additional saunas in Salvador. sauna fox is noted for lighter skinned clientele and Thermas Persona is apparently even Blacker than P11. I will try to see at least one for mys of tomorrow and report back.
  16. My three were 33, not sure but late 20's to early 30's and 26. All were impressively hung and thick. The first and third were about 5'10 the last was easily 6'3 perhaps 6'5
  17. I just got in from an amazing time at P11 ( sometimes known as Planetario XI). I walked in around 6 pm, guided by the wisdom of others on this site who suggest that this timing is key for the local clientelle on the way home to the wife and kids. As soon as I walked in the door, I was identified as an American and the sharks were circling. One in particular appointed himself my guide to the club. He again, I had been warned by the veterans. It didnt help. I have a weakness for big-dicked mullatto bottoms and this guy, Neto, had been in my dream since I hit puberty. Careful not to get taken in as a rube, I bargained him down to 80 from the 100 he requested. And, I whispered, " are you sure?" in Spanish when he stated loudly in Portugeuse that he was "attivo only". As promised by the wisemen on this site, as soon as we were in the room, his legs were in the air and I had a great time. Having nothing else pllaned for the evening, I decided to hang a round the club a while longer, waiting for th promised show. Another dream come to life, Ricardo, spent an hour trying to get me to do a massage with him. The combination of the drinks and his persistence inspired me to forget my training. I wasnt precise about what I expected before we went into the room and was disappointed by his limited repertoir. I came anyway. By this point, I was two orgasms down in the space or two hours and could barely walk. As I nursed a beer at the bar, a tall guy, Fabio, who is a dead ringer for one of my secret crushes stateside came in. Do i even need to say that I was ready to go yet again and paid his R$100 fee and covered his entrance fee for teh night too. This was the best of all, though he wouldnt bottom. In summary, I spent R$400 for 3 hours with three men whom I wouldnt hessitate to pay $150 each stateside plus I got clean, cofortable rooms and a half dozen drinks as well. If you want Brazilian men who look Brazilian rather than Danish men who happen to work for reis, Salvador is the place to be.
  18. I will be there this coming weekend and using the guide axion2001 suggests above. I will be sure to post a review.
  19. I speak proficient Spanish, so Im hoping that will help.
  20. Boytoy friends- Im wondering if any of you has experimented, in Brazil, with a male/female couple? Given the apparently widespread bisexuality, surely such encounters are on offer. Aren't they? Do you start with the guy and ask if there is "uma mulher" with whom he is willing to work? Any experiences you care to share? Thanks for all the great advice so far Jay
  21. Thank you so much! Can you tell me more about getting around the prohibition on guests at hotels? I wasnt thinking about an overnight stay. Rather I had in mind a brief encounter in a more comfortable and controlled setting.
  22. You had a driver wait outside the whole time you visited a sauna? What did that cost? Im a big Black American. That usually means that I am not the easiest target available, though in most parts of the world, Im easily identifiable as a tourist.
  23. Thanks @Badboy81! Same advice for Sao Paulo and Salvador?
