  1. Im planning a 10 day trip to Colombia and I need more info on the Non-Medellin cities. What is the 2015 scene like in Cartagena? Cali? Bogota? Can anyone suggest a reliable tour guide in any of those cites. I speak Spanish but would still love to get the lay of the land from a local. Are there saunas or hustler bars of note in any of these cities? Any places to avoid? Thanks for the advice.
  2. RIO2015- If you insist on street trade DONT GO TO VENEZUELA. Try Cuba instead. The chances that we read of your unfortunate demise will go down 300%. In Cuba, the police keep a lid on any violence, especially involving a tourist. In Venezuela, when the cops show up, everything gets worse and they may be the ones to cause you harm. Since you are looking for "twinks", Mexico may be an option for you as well. One thing you may be doing is drawing analogies between SE Asia and SA. The only similarity is that men with money can buy sex cheaply. Beyond that, the levels of violent crime etc are night and day. I will add my voice to the "Go to the Brazilian Sauna" choir. Its the best way to get the best selection most safely. its also a great way to audition a friend you may hope to see outside the sauna.
  3. Even if MJD finds what he seeks in the old post, Im actually hoping that wheel has been reinvented since April and that it might now include suggestions in Cartagena. Anybody been recently? Care to update?
  4. Black and White was a bust too. Didn't even bother the drink my second prepaid drink. At least the Romanians there were younger than at Adan. Still, no dice.
  5. I prefer GOL as it is a member of SKYteam and my Delta status got me a free upgrade. It wasn't exactly first class but it wasn't crowded and at the front of the plane. I also got priority boarding and more liberal baggage rules.
  6. Im heading over to check out Black and White now. I will let you know.
  7. I'm tempted to use the phrase "fraco" to describe the complete bust that was Tuesday evening at Sauna Adan. But, applying a Brazilian phrase to this joke feels perverse, and not in the good way. What I expected to be a rentboy sauna was, today, the Bucharest Social Club for elderly and listless Romanian rent boys. I walked in with a pocket full of money and a dick full of hunger. I walked out an hour later, having spent 3 on a diet coke and having spoken to 4 of 8 guys lulling about the place. 3 were actually asleep. Perhaps it was the day of the week or perhaps there is a larger market for big- bellied Eastern European daddies than I had imagined. At any rate, based upon my experience, I would have to suggest that anyone who finds himself in Madrid in search of a sauna experience should take an 100 flight or 75 train to Barcelona!
  8. Tall, muscular but slim, cafe con leche colored skin, carefully coiffured hair. Moves like he's dancing to the earth's heartbeat.
  9. I went back on Monday around 6 pm. Less than half the boys I saw before but one of them was a mulato Cubano named Enrique, who usually lives in Madrid. It seems that Monday's crowd was more "normal", which seems to mean a more balanced mix of twinks, muscle boys and others. I had a very nice time. But, I must go now as Enrique is scheduled to arrive at my hotel momentarily.
  10. I seem to have inadvertently coincided my trip to Barcelona with The Circuit Party. Thermas was full of hot guys who are in town to meet a rich husband at the late circuit parties and paying for the trip by spending the late afternoon/early evening at Thermas. there were easily 40, perhaps 50 guys there. Most were pumped up muscle guys from Serbia, Cuba and especially Brazil. In other words, I was in heaven. I enjoyed the favors of Bruno from Rio, who usually lives in Madrid. And, I also enjoyed Enrique from Sao Paolo who usually lives in Milan. All agreed that the place empties after 8:30 or 9 after getting going between 5 and 6.
  11. Axiom- this guy actually handled the luggage for my flight from SP to Salvador. I saw him through the window of the plane. Then again later that night in a sauna.
  12. So sad. They are in a doom loop. Most large businesses borrow in USD. Their expenses are up 50% just from currency shifts. They lay off people to compensate and so on and so forth. I know many people who expect to see R$4:USD$1 in the next 6 months.
  13. Funny. so you think that's me? Lol
  14. I've had Salvador on my mind all day. I really want to return. Does this happen to the rest of you?
  15. I should have made clear that Uber cannot come to GIG to pick up a customer. I did use Uber from GRU though. No Uber in Salvador, yet.
  16. I don't travel quite as much as you do. But, i have had taxis refuse to pick me up in enough cities to get a special glee every time I open my Uber app. It's like giving the finger to every NY, Chicago, Paris, Brussels, Beijing cabbie who drove past me. I did summon Uber via an app and it worked in precisely the same way as it does in the states. I could put in the exact address or have them come to where the GPS indicated that the phone was. Keep in mind that I had a Brazilian simcard/phone while I was there. My average wait for a car in the middle of Agenda Atlantica was 5 minutes. More than one, the car as waiting for me before I could get downstairs. Several times, there were two or three Uber cars picking up other guests. Leaving Saunas in SP and Rio, I occasionally stood around for a few minutes after settling the bill to wait for the Uber to arrive. TomCal mentions Easy Taxi, which I also downloaded an used in SP a couple of times. I like the convenience of not having to exchange cash that Uber offers. So I only used Easy Taxi on the occasions in SP where the Uber was more than 10 minutes away.
  17. LOLOL your freshman left out the portion of the secret email that says that when the Reis hits 4 to the USD and unemployment 20% of employers start doing layoffs, they have decided to all return to the saunas.
  18. I did precisely as Tomcal suggested two weeks ago and it was fine. By the way, on the trip back and throughout RIO, I used Uber. It was great and cheaper than taxis.
  19. Agree. Thanks for sharing. Your experience will save the rest of us a lot of hassle.
  20. Haven't gone yet. Not finding any info though.
  21. The microsims are abundant in Brazil. But, the nano-SIM for my 6plus wasn't to be had for love or money anywhere except at a Claro store in a mall in downtown Sao Paulo.
