Recent reports have inspired me to see for myself if the scene in Havana has deteriorated as far as others suggest. I have a sneaking suspicion that the Havana-hating might be inspired by a preference for a very specific kind of guy. My own tastes run to well-hung, muscular, mulatto bottoms. When I used to app to hail a ride at the airport, I received a text telling me to meet the driver at departures, to sit in the front seat and to tell anyone who asked that we were friends and that he was simply picking me up at the airport. I did so, happily. As, taxis in Colombia seem sketchy to me and I am willing to endure the slight inconvenience for the security afforded by knowing who is picking me up and Uber keeping track of where we are going.

I have done a combination of the VPN and taking the conversations to WhatsApp. You are right, many of the ones who work in studios are, or think they are, being monitored. The studio operators are careful to make sure that the transactions stay in the form of tips within the system. All the camboys, indeed the whole country it seems, have whatsapp. either pass your number to them and encourage them to reach out to you or ask for theirs. While not all the camboys are open to in person performances, enough are that its a viable strategy.

I love both cities. Most would immediately say go to Rio. I say, it depends on which experience you want. The Rio sauna scene is the world's most amazing all you can eat buffet. He is Lazo, a veteran of the Cuban revolution and the one and only Black member of the Cuban high command in 50 years. This is country that is 35% Black if you use Latin American definitions of Black and 67% Blck if you apply north American definitions. Barack Obama is not Black in Cuba or in Brazil.
