  1. Much more expensive.
  2. This will someday be an interesting case study in how to let trolls ruin a message board.
  3. Thanks for the memories. Obviously, my time on this forum is coming to an end. I appreciated the OP BiLatin.
  4. Assuming that the strength of the dollar vs the real will hold until December may indicate an unfamiliarity with the currency markets in general and Brazilian economic history in particular. Im definitely going to benefit next week. Your benefiting in December is a toss up at best.
  5. Im going to be in Salvador for a week and was considering a side trip to Recife. I'm wondering if anyone has and advise on that plan. I've heard nice things about Recife as a town and was wondering about opportunities for play. Is there a sauna with garotos? I assume I should fly rather than drive or take a bus. Are there not-to-be-missed sights or experiences. Thanks.
  6. Anxiety is always toxic. Anxiety six months in advance is radioactive. Are you seriously worried about not being in touch with a tour guide you wont even meet until December?
  7. I am certain that you did not offend him and that his lack of responsiveness will ultimately be explained by being busy with clients who are visiting now or soon. For example, I will be in Salvador in a couple of weeks and have spoken to him twice, since Wednesday.
  8. No. Its more of a straightforward whorehouse. You choose from among those available and retire to a room with him. The emailed menu is about arranging for one you like to be there when you arrive or for the house to present a similar substitute. The selection wasn't great when I was there. But I was in an "any port in a storm" mood after Club Tobi proved underwhelming for me. Perhaps things have improved.
  9. A big-dicked mulato bottom twink form Barranquilla and a more euro-Colombian who sucked dick like he thought there might be gold in it.
  10. I remember paying $120,000COP a couple of years ago.
  11. Care to share any info on Salvador, Bahia? Im looking for an AirBnB near the beach. Any recommendations?

  12. Can anyone recommend an AirBnB? I'm looking for comfort, air conditioning, wifi and beachfront. Open to hotel suggestions as well. The flexibility to bring a guest back is a plus but not a necessity as I intend to leave the drama at the sauna.
  13. As another African American who has traveled widely in Latin America and Europe, with a little Asia and Africa on the side, I cosign everything BadBoy81 has written in this thread.
  14. In the USA, Black is an ethnic group generally characterized by darker skin and/or a family experience of multi-generational forced labor. I say generally, because there are those with extremely light skin, see Obama aid Valerie Jarrett who considers herself Black and people with no family history of being worked to death, see Barack Obama, who also considers himself Black. Moreover, in the USA, by law in half the country, for centuries, anyone with any perceptible or provable genetic connection to an African was considered Black no matter what they looked like or how remote the connection. This meant that the condition of Blackness was permanent and permanently heritable. Thus, it was impossible to simultaneously believe in the inferiority of Blacks and yet think yourself better than an animal if you were visibly or provably Black. In Latin America, this was/is not the case. It is possible to "mejor la sangre" (improve the blood) by copulating with a European and producing offspring who were not Black. Thus, it was intellectually possible both to internalize the racist lies and yet love your children because they were not Black. Hence, national movements for civil rights came much later to places like Brazil and Cuba. My Brazilian and Cuban friends often say to me that Pardos/Mulatos are doing well in the USA because we have had a pardo potus, Obama, two pardo secretaries of state ( Powell and Rice), a pardo attorney general ( Holder) Pardo governors of Virginia ( Wilder) and Massachusetts ( Patrick). They say, then, perhaps things will be looking up for Blacks someday too. In an American context, each of those people would be horrified by the idea that they are not Black while in Brazil, or Cuba, or Panama, or Colombia or the DR, none of them is Black.
  15. Too right Paris!! Hence my earlier assertion that Obama is not Black in Brazil. Neymar has been known to OBJECT to being called Black. The Iberian slaveocracy was built on the foundation of Blacks as subhumans just as the northern European versions were. The difference is that the Portuguese and the Spanish provided an escape hatch from the benighted class in the form of an intermediate class, mulatto or mestizo in the Spanish context and Pardo in Brazil. That way, even the higher access to resources that sometimes extended from European parentage could not be used to topple the whole system and threaten the forced labor camps. Americans like WEB DuBois, Booker T. Washington, Frederick Douglass, Thurgood Marshall,, Barack Obama, Doug Wilder, Maynard Jackson would, none of them, have been considered Black in Brazil which may be why Brazil has not ever had such leaders.
  16. Did you have any difficulty invited guys to you rroom?
  17. Im planning a quick trip to Cali, Colombia, in a few weeks. Anyone know of a nice hotel with particularly liberal policies about guests in the room? Im not aware of any saunas in Cali with rentboys. Are there any?
  18. I have NEVER had trouble with noise in a hotel in Poblado. And, I usually stay in hotels that are essentially attached to one of the malls. I find the security of the hotels to be essential and always rent one ($75-120/night for a good one) even if I arrange an AirBnB for privacy. I should note that I have only done the AirBNB thing once because there were lots of Americans in the hotel I was staying in and I didnt want to risk bumping into someone I knew with un chico in tow.
  19. I haven't posted my review yet. But, I went to Havana a few weeks ago. I went to Medellin ad Cali late last year. We should travel together as we seem to have remarkably similar taste.
  20. Papi- You should add CALI to your next Colombian journey. Ask your AfroColombian c0onquests and you will find that most of them are new to Medellina nd originate in Cali. Cali is to Medellin as Santiago de Cuba is to Havana. Glad you are having a blast!!
  21. Week of 4/17
  22. My plan is to get a sim card with a local telephone number as soon as I get there. SMS will be the primary communication venue. There is available wifi in certain locations including hotels. I will try to make do with that. I will let you know how it works out.
  23. That wasnt going to be my next question. But, now it is. Where did you find success solace? What were pricing expectations like?
