  1. Wow PAULEIRO, more epic informative posts❗ Many thanks ❗ You get more reconnaissance done in a week than I do in a month. After your posts about FCK Party, I wanted to click 😱. Administrators here need to add that option! Sad, confused, and haha did not do it. Needed 😱 And FCK Party has a "Fisting Station"!? Had to laugh thinking about the omelette stations at brunch.

    Lagoa

Pixu seems to be a newbie and he asked about the two GP saunas. If he is indeed new to SP, I think Lagoa is the easiest and safest venue (and with clean beds). But sure, he can search for those other places too.

By the way, Lagoa is a frequent topic here, so just use the Search function. For 2024 so far, you'll get these 90 links for all sorts of recent details, tips, and viewpoints about Lagoa: https://www.gayguides.com/forums/search/?&q=Lagoa&search_and_or=or&start_after=year&updated_after=year

    Fortaleza

Thanks! Maybe I'll try Dragon again when I'm in Fortaleza in December.

    Fortaleza

So Dragon Sauna -- which is usually nearly empty according to numerous reports -- was actually quite busy on a Sunday afternoon (around 6pm)?! That is big news. Did you happen to hear about any other times when it is popular? Second question: You also went to Dragon on a Monday (guessing from your earlier post) at 5pm and there were "already a few GPs there." So, 4 or 5 GPs? Last question please: For at least a period of time a year or two ago, Dragon Sauna was requiring fingerprints for entry! Were fingerprints still demanded?
  8. I'll look forward to your next shagalogue, and, since you asked, I'll vote for a new thread. It's easy to get carried away with the many temptations of Rio, so be super careful if you are only halfway through recovery of your quad surgery, so many complications can arise!

    Fortaleza

Thanks for the Fortaleza update. I'll be returning there in seven weeks, so good to know the sauna scene is unchanged -- and to get the tip on the cinema. Other than the appealing blue skies and nice beach cafe, any significance to the Praia do Futuro photo?
  10. And this was the Copacabana Palace! Who knew that $500+ a night did not include reliable AC and electricity!?
  11. Wow, not many men would be willing to share such a brutal critique of themselves from a GP! Thanks for sharing. Still it surprises me that for 1,000 reals he would no longer accept a warm room without food, water, gel, condoms, or round-trip Uber, plus the client's extended non-ejaculating sex. Seems like this "very handsome" GP must be in high demand. May I ask, what has he been getting paid in the sauna?
  12. Yago, when I wrote about SP and PA, I meant SΓ£o Paulo and Porto Alegre. But you are right that the two letter abbreviation for ParΓ‘ is indeed PA. I did visit BelΓ©m, the capital of ParΓ‘, but that was 20 years ago. And since it was 20 years ago, I did OK at the GP-free sauna. But no recent ParΓ‘ news to contribute. Maybe somebody else can give us an update. Later this year I plan to visit Aracaju (in Sergipe) and MaceiΓ³ (in Alagoas) along the coast between Recife and Salvador. I'd love to get any tips or advice on those places.
  13. The definitive post on price variation, IMHO: https://www.gayguides.com/forums/topic/60821-lagoa/?do=findComment&comment=407388 To which I'll add: Portuguese fluency and random variation in small samples.
  14. Sauna sex only for me, plus the occasional Uber driver. Lagoa for 50 minutes, although sometimes I take one guy for half an hour and then grab a second for the final 20 minutes. Cabin times are shorter in Rio. Yes, if they are watching the clock that would be annoying. I set the alarm on the phone so I won't run over and have to pay for the room twice because of extra five minutes of cuddling. Hope you had fun at Point tonight!!! 🀞
  15. Sorry to hear that. I have not read all of your impressive thousands of posts (!!!) but the many hundreds I have read have always been informative and very interesting. It must be frustrating to actually be living in Rio and feeling as though "everything" now sucks. Sensitive guy that I am, I know how even a couple of disappointing experiences can sour my mood. However, I was in Brazil for seven weeks during June and July in Rio, SP, and PA, and never had a guy try to jack up the price after our agreement. And while Rio/SP saunas did have more toned "models" a decade ago, I still had good to great romps every night with enthusiastic GPs. Maybe I had a really lucky streak. The only GPs I've encountered post-pandemic who wanted to renegotiate were a few in Cartagena, Colombia in 2021. Β―\_(ツ)_/Β― Colombia is fun to explore but for me Brazil is still easily number one.
  16. I've visited Belo Horizonte four times over the past twenty years and usually found it interesting. However, I made the mistake once of visiting during its intense, nonstop, rainy season. Belo Horizonte has several gay saunas but only two that (to the best of my knowledge) have regular GPs. Sauna Olimpo BH Rua dos Timbiras, 2635 - Santo Agostinho, Belo Horizonte https://maps.app.goo.gl/VpAaetLLPUHtmaLm7 Yes, anywhere from five to 15 GPs, some quite hot, on the evenings I visited. An unexpected amount of client-client action that was fun. A thread here a year or two ago said Olimpo was experimenting with nonGP nights, but I do not have an update on that. Sauna 1097 Rua dos Guajajaras, 1097 - Centro, Belo Horizonte https://maps.app.goo.gl/ubWZgYacwTpENasn7 A few blocks away from Olimpo is 1097. Yes, seedy Sauna 1097 is, as XPaulo wrote, rundown with skinny rough GPs who he liked but were not for me. Ouro Preto is indeed the most famous colonial town in the state of Mina Gerais. It is about 60 miles away and definitely worth a day trip, IMHO. Hope your visit turns out to be enjoyable.
  17. In years past, yes. Have you been able to do this smoothly in the past few years in Brazil? Since about 2020, a Brazilian SIM for tourists has been a huge hassle with Claro, etc. in my experience. So that makes the five easy minutes needed to set up an e-SIM the clear choice for me.
  18. Agree. Excellent and identical experience with Airalo's e-SIM. It has worked beautifully for me in a dozen cities all around Brazil during my past two trips -- everywhere except in distant rural areas of the Pantanal. You do have to be careful to only stream videos with Wi-Fi of course, otherwise vids will rapidly devour your maximum prepaid e-SIM.

☝️ Some bold added! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is the definitive post on this topic! πŸ† Thank you, Mr. HornyFrog! I want to save this link to insert it each time these old issues are naively raised: https://www.gayguides.com/forums/topic/60821-lagoa/?do=findComment&comment=407388

A lot of clients seem to ask GPs to set the price. OK, I guess if you feel more comfortable doing that. I never ask their price. I offer 150 or 200 reals (depending on the city, the GP, and the situation). 150 = 100 (say-n) e 50 (seen-kwen-tah) 200 = duzentos (or just hold up two fingers) During my past two months in Brazil, only one guy (out of a hundred? who's counting?) countered with more. (To be fair, he was extremely cute.) A few have briefly hesitated before accepting. I suppose I could bargain and save US$8 once in a while (or perhaps miss the rare guy who would have accepted 100 reals), but my bar bill is next to zero so I prefer to make my offer, skip negotiations, and head "straight" to the sala.
  21. Yes, always reject the ATM's proposed awful conversion rate! Yes, always get a credit card that does not add a surcharge for foreign use -- and ideally refunds all foreign ATM fees (e.g., Charles Schwab's Visa debit card). And, yes, avoid Western Union and other money exchange offices. Standard conversions at Brazilian bank ATMs are consistently superior.
  22. In Porto Alegre, LUX is operating every day except Monday. Thursday-Sunday (esp. Saturday) are the best days. Lots of boy-next-door guys of surprisingly varied shades. It has a curious mix of guys who have been working (Plataforma then Mezzinino then Lux) for many years along with new guys like the very handsome "short king" 19 year old who just started working at Lux last Saturday and another handsome newbie who started on Sunday.

How quickly an innocent chat about endangered animals turns to dicks! (Thanks FloridaRob.) 🀣 OK, in that spirit, what about fellatio? πŸ˜› A giant anteater's sticky tongue is 2 feet long and can flick in and out of its mouth 150 times per minute!

    Campo Grande

Sweet! They look like creatures from another planet. Giant anteaters seem to be somewhat more common in the fields around Bonito and less common in the northern Pantanal. Along with waterfalls and caves, Bonito also has a crater (Buraco das Araras) with lots of spectacular red and green macaws (best seen at 8:00-8:30am). Yes, giant anteaters are vulnerable to extinction in Brazil due to habitat loss and being run over on the road. At least some new protection efforts are now underway.
