‘The Best Way to Deal With Russia: Wait for It to Implode’
tassojunior replied to AdamSmith's topic in Politics
YES And 3 things: 1. Almost all the money we borrow for wars and tax cuts for the rich is borrowed from Chinese. We have no leverage to threaten them. 2. China is becoming number 1 in category after category rapidly. But their natural enemy and buffer, European Russia, is being attacked by the US more and more harshly. Instead of allying with Russia to contain China, we are forcing Russia to ally with China. 3. Biden scares the bejesus out of me with all the money he's taken from China and what a puppet he is for China. -
Because we really don't have to speculate on Big Dummy, we see his foreign policy every day. He did oppose Iraq after seeming to vaguely support it beforehand. He has hired Bolton, Pompeo and even criminal Abrams to appease the neo-cons and neo-libs and maybe scare other countries with their daily threats. So far this hasn't escalated into hot war (even though we killed 200 Russians one day in Syria) and Hillary probably would have killed many more people in Syria. But Trump continues the Obama support for Saudi genocide in Yemen and has even escalated it. The threats and bullying Trump does in Iran is dangerous as it could easily turn into hot war with a mistaken move. But for now Trump seems to have a policy of killing people in Iran and Venezuela through escalating economic embargoes and blockades of food and medicine. (Obama did too). Those are legally acts of war but we get away with them all the time. (And of course, these fail because it makes the people there hate us more.) Ultimately though, much of Trump's family is right-wing Orthodox Jewish and Trump has streets named after him in Israel. The GOP has always coveted getting American Jews away from the Dems (in the UK Jews are mostly Conservatives). And the right wing that controls Israel and AIPAC is adamant that they want an American invasion of Iran and war with Russia in Syria. Trump has been bluffing them off with things like the symbolic move of the embassy and increasing the Israeli subsidy from the US. But Israel has lurched far far to the right recently and the most racist and violent faction looks to be ascending to power rapidly. They may well start an invasion to force the US to support it. And if a Neo-Lib is the Democratic nominee in the US, that nominee may try to out-AIPAC Trump forcing him to take military action. But for now at least, Trump seems to think that an expensive foreign hot war would be very unpopular, as Iraq became, and it's more effective to defeat countries economically with blockades. He's still killing many people, especially children, in Iran and Venezuela with embargoes. So he would fit in between the Neo-lib crowd of the Dems and the anti-war crowd of the Dems in how many he's now killing. But if a mistake happens his threats and embargo policy could turn into a real war the same as with the neo-lib Dems, although Trump seems less inclined to war with Russia than the neo-libs are.

Do you really not understand that the Neo-libs who want foreign interventions and wars kill more people than those who are against foreign interventions and invasions? That those who supported the Iraq invasion killed more than those who opposed it? That was one million Iraqis we killed. Granted they had brown skin but they still count as people. Kamala and Buttgieg are clearly unquestioning puppets of AIPAC eager to kill as many dark skins as AIPAC wants. Biden is not only an AIPAC puppet but also a Chinese puppet, although the Chinese aren't currently on the genocide fad. Yet. Any of these three would have been willing to have an extra 1 million dead in Syria to help AIPAC and Israel. And these three are the most likely to actually go to war with Iran an advanced country of 80 million whose destruction would require killing maybe 10 million people. ( and thousands of American deaths, but not a single Saudi or Israeli death even though that war would be fought for them at their insistence). To some people killing 10 million people is bad, even if they are brown. They still count as people. Bernie, Tulsi, Yang and pretty much Warren are anti-war and foreign invasions and I don't see them ever converting to pro-war/invasions. All the others are more pro-war but are minor candidates. I wouldn't have been for Hitler even though he was great on social security or Mussolini even though he made the trains work well. But today killing millions of people is just another factor we consider along with other issues. So, Kamala, Buttigieg or Biden probably mean 1 to ten million more people we kill over Bernie, Yang, Warren or Tulsi.

First, I am in the USA, in the heart of the beast in DC. Almost a life-long resident. But it's Silicon Valley that should be most scared by this law. No one has been charged under the law yet and we were hoping they would have been by now to get a Supreme Court review. The law is retro-active, which is clearly unconstitutional, and the court can either take out that clause or overturn the law totally. Overturning would be nice if it died a quiet death but unfortunately it's more a "moral crusade" championed as much by Democrats as Republicans. Sen. Kamala Harris and Sen. Richard Blumenthal, both D's, are the chief authors and proponents. I'm surprised also that offshore sites like RentMan haven't been charged. My suspicion is that the government knows the law is unconstitutional from being retroactive and so doesn't want to use it. But it's just being there has transformed Google, Apple, Masseurfinder, Tumbler, Facebook etc into being very strict censors. It has the potential, if upheld, to get not just escort talk off the internet but porn.

Saudi Arabia's Bitch Hard to beat Tulsi when it comes to attacking Trump.

SESTA does not limit to underage. That is already very illegal. And it actually does not limit to blatant prostitution as that is also illegal. Backpage is a harsh example and it was before SESTA. The idea of SESTA is to curtail porn as well as escorting online as much as possible because the thinking is the more porn, the more prostitution (not my idea).Right after it's passage Google cleansed a lot of sites, including taking my nude photos of my #1 (35 yr old) off my Google Photos, to be lost forever. SESTA overcomes the foreign server problem with charges against anyone in the US and also by allowing civil suits. Why it hasn't been used yet is a mystery.

To me, how many people a candidate will likely kill, especially when we're talking huge numbers, is the most important issue way over any other. I can't comprehend it being just another factor to a person.
-
Those numbers are diminishing rapidly as the above breakdown shows. And the banners on top of Kos show only 30% of Americans approve of the GOP, and only 38% of the Democratic party. The parties are relics that still de facto control our government.

I've had healthcare in Germany and I was super impressed. A real doctor for a good hour for something non-emergency. At Kaiser here I'm lucky if my doc is allowed more than 5 minutes with me per visit. Insulin was developed by the government and the patent sold for $1. It's now $1000/month in the US, $100/month in Canada, and $50/month or free in Europe. A lot of drugs are in fact government research developed or assisted. I understand the incentive to develop for privates but the US patent has been extended way too long past what is needed to make them profitable. But the non-drug inflation in the US healthcare is even worse. Hospitals, doctors, tests, etc. Soon to be 20% of an average person's income. I'd say rationing in Europe is nothing like our rationing by cost in the US. People are dying every day from not affording insulin.

As of October 2017, Gallup polling found that 31% of Americans identified as Democrat, 24% identified as Republican, and 42% as Independent. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_party_strength_in_U.S._states If you think getting only all 31% will win the election, you must be counting on a lot of 3rd party candidates. Whoever wins the independents, wins. There are some candidates that will do poorly in the "blue wall" midwest states of "deplorables" and blue collar workers who are Reagan/Nixon/Trump Democrats, much less independents. If murdering a million people is ok so long as you get someone you can't stand out, then we have different moral values.
-
It's pretty clear as an independent I would vote for Bernie, Tulsi, Yang and maybe Warren. As an anti-war voter and independent there is no way I would ever vote for Harris, Buttigieg, Booker, Beto or Biden.
-
What you're asking has been polled hundreds of times to see who appeals most to independents and Republican crossovers. The answer isn't what you assume. The most Democratic-party insiders are abhorred by independents and GOP. The more independent a candidate is and seems, the more attractive to the general electorate. Bernie, Tulsi, and Yang poll the best with independents and crossover Republicans who hear them by a huge margin. Biden does just OK (now) as he's a DNC insider. Warren is also just OK. Harris, and Booker poll the worst. Almost zero crossovers. Buttigieg only gets gay independents and GOP, no others. All 3 are very DNC insiders. Americans detest both political parties and the further a candidate is from their party, the better. How Trump won, how Obama got in, and how Hillary lost.

Every other major country does it for less than half our cost. Most for much less than half. We have no cost control and costs are outrageous. Insulin costs 10 times here what it does in Canada and 20 times what it does in Europe. Americans pay $1000/month. Surgeries are astronomical. If you really get sick you have to declare bankruptcy and go on Medicaid. There was a graph I saw yesterday that insurance company CEO's in 2011 made $35,000.........per day. Doctors are multi-millionaires and care more about their investments than seeing patients. It's gotten awful and spiraling downward fast. We have to have cost controls and only single--payer does that.

The counter-argument is that the corporate welfare in our system is what we cannot afford and is seriously putting us in hock, largely to the Chinese. From the outrageously expensive American healthcare system that will soon take 20% of a family's income, to the military-industrial complex that demands half our discretionary spending. We have to cut the costs of healthcare and we have to stop being the world's policeman.

St P has the best-looking guys online at least in the world. But from comments here and other places, it's very hard to meet them even though there is a bar in central St P for that. It seems to be that the ordinary people live far out in suburbs and aren't very mobile into town. Moscow seems to have more of a scene. I cancelled my trip when I read all this and the visa was a PITA too.

Bogota and Brazil July August 2019
tassojunior replied to pauleiro's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
I think the Prague thread is excellent because it is just one thread. That's why we tried to centralize Columbia into one thread. Otherwise we will go back to getting "Does anyone know anything about Columbia?" threads x100 again. -
And I'm sort of disappointed no progressive anti-war candidate, Bernie or otherwise, has really gotten the groundswell of support it will take to wrest the nomination away from the DNC's chosen Kamala and go on to defeat Trump. From a moral standpoint I could never support the number of brown people Kamala or Buttigieg would murder as puppets of AIPAC and Biden is a totally bought-and-paid-for puppet of China. As awful and vile as Trump is, so far he hasn't started any foreign invasions, while I'm sure there would be a lot of extra dead Syrians if Hillary had won. A million dead Iraqis made her smile and destroying Libya made her laugh. I know they're brown people and we're supposed to get used to killing them in masse but for some of us genocide is not a factor, it's a total disqualifier. I've never voted GOP in my life but any of those 3 would make me at least stay home like Hillary did. I think the DNC again underestimates how many Democrats will walk to stop genocide.

Colombia: full list of hot spots
tassojunior replied to Tartegogo's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
57a and Oriental with the gay hustler bars, is the east side of the cathedral and safe since it's the main street. The scarey area is the west side of the cathedral. There are supposed to be a couple gay bars there but I went there twice and was robbed there twice (I keep most money hidden in my shoe). I can't get over how people are having disappointments at Club Tobi. I found it to be one of the world's top escort saunas. Either it's gone down or people are visiting on bad days. Medellin is very sexy and cheap but hard to crack on the ground. That's why linking up with Chaterbate guys there before a trip is really a must. Plenty of guys are there but you're not going to meet the nice ones at the hustler bars and many online ads are scams. -

Sorry Club Tobi wasn't good the night you went. Maybe I was just lucky that every day I went there were several really hot massuers. Maybe Adrian doesn't work there anymore. He was always reliable and hot. In spite of the rough hustler bars, Medellin is a harder town to crack than Bogota, but the guys are so good-looking and "friendly". -
