Lagoa, another disappointing "busy" night
SolaceSoul replied to mvan1's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
I was fully aware of the song. It was a hit before my time (1963 — I was a 70s baby), But strangely, it went #1 in several countries, including the USA in 1963. When I started French in the 9th grade, my teacher played the song and forced us to learn the lyrics. I prefer my nun tune (a cover of the 50s hit), especially because what those ladies are singing about fits what his ball-and-chain “Dominique” must be doing. He fancies himself on the high-end of GdPs in the BRA... he’s not like those other hoes! If he brought Dominique along, a Sugar Daddy could have financed his flight and he’s obligated to him for a day or two, and then he supplements his income at Thermas “working 3 to 9... what a way to make a livin’!” -

You may be onto something, Rioblather. She fits the mold of the titty dancer / plastic Barbie-type garotas that some of these “better boys” fuck / date / marry / have bambinos with — with that tacit wink-and-nod understanding that they both leave their GdP work at the front door when they get home. For all we know, “Catarina” The Singing Nun may have her own work to do in BCN, too — other than just following him wherever he may go. -

This particular high-end GdP brought along his live-in GF on this voyage to España. I’d bet dollars to donuts that he told the Clueless Cathy that he has to train a gym client every day from 3-9 pm. -

Coincidentally, one of my favorite sometimes GdPs in Brazil just posted a photo that he arrived in Barcelona for his “vacation”. One guess how this trip is being financed. Describing it as a “working vacation” would be more accurate! -
Trump Bans Most Travel To Cuba
SolaceSoul replied to sanddunes's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
It’s quite possible that it can be both. Putin pulls strings. Trump does things for his own self-preservation and self-gain. The two are not necessarily mutually exclusive. And of course, we know how Orange Foolius just wants o undo anything that Obama did, out of jealousy and spite. The older white Cubans in Florida are dying out, but they vote in strong numbers and they still vote for and donate to the GOP. The younger ones are less likely to do so. The Cubans on the island, many if not most who are brown and black, love Obama and hate Trump. -
Trump Bans Most Travel To Cuba
SolaceSoul replied to sanddunes's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
This move is Drumpf trying to lock in the South Florida Cuban-American GOP vote for 2020, with the help of that ratfucker Marco Rubio. ”For Trump, pleasing Rubio and his Miami base—a stronghold of conservative Latino voters—is key to a 2020 victory in the battleground state of Florida, where he beat Hillary Clinton by a mere 113,000 votes in 2016. Florida is home to some 1.2 million Cubans and 190,000 Venezuelans. “Trump doesn’t care about Latin America. It’s all about domestic politics,” said William LeoGrande, an expert in U.S.-Latin American relations at American University. “Trump thinks he won Florida because of the Cuban American vote. Rubio convinced him that that’s what made the big difference in Florida.” Rubio’s influence over Latin American policy is highly unusual for a senator. While Cuban-American members of Congress have long held outsized clout when it comes to foreign policy toward Cuba, Rubio’s reach extends further afield, in particular to Venezuela, which has served as a close ally and economic lifeline to Cuba for decades. On January 22, Rubio—flanked by Florida Governor Rick Scott and Florida Representative Mario Diaz-Balart, a fellow Cuban-American from Miami—went to the White House to call on Trump to support Juan Guaidó and the Venezuelan opposition. The next day the Florida politicians got their wish. The United States, followed by 20 other countries, recognized Guaidó as interim president. “I can’t think of another moment when such a crucial aspect of foreign policy was outsourced to a senator on such a critical decision as to recognize a dissident as the president of a country,” said Greg Grandin, author of Empire’s Workshop: Latin America, the United States, and Rise of New Imperialism and a professor of history at New York University. “It’s pretty audacious and it’s pretty unusual.”… .…In recent months, he has pressured the White House to put Cuba back on an international terrorism list, impose sanctions on Cuban officials, and end U.S. travel and academic exchanges to the island. Last year, at Rubio’s urging, the United States withdrew most of its diplomats from Cuba. The real feather in his cap will be if the Maduro government falls in Venezuela, which could have devastating effects on Cuba, since it relies on subsidized oil from Venezuela.” https://newrepublic.com/article/153115/marco-rubio-trumps-shadow-secretary-state -
Just like clockwork. A hit dog will holler. Nice try Jan, but this thread is not about debating the legality of consenting legal adults performing sex acts on each other, or even consenting legal adults buying / selling sex. Also, “bigotry and ageism”? I can easily argue that the real ageists are the old men who exclusively seek sex with barely legal young men. Why must they discriminate against men much closer to their own age?
-
@mvan1, I believe it is erroneous to compare same sex attraction to sexual attraction to significantly younger partners. You may not realize this, but you’re dangerously close to making the same arguments as the organization NAMBLA — which advocates to abolish age-of-consent laws criminalizing adult sexual involvement with minors, under the premise that men and boys of any age should be free to be in relationships that are mutually consensual — no matter the age of the boy or the age difference between the man and boy. Of course, @mvan1, I know that this is not your personal position and that you personally would not support such a platform or an insidious organization such as the North American Man/Boy Love Association. I dismiss this notion that a 25 year old man who is attracted to 21 year old young men (I’m purposely using an arbitrary age here, for discussion purposes) will always be exclusively attracted to 21 year old young men, even when that 25 year old becomes 45, 60 or 70 because he is “pre-wired” to be attracted to an age group. Perhaps it is like that for some (I would agree that is probably true for pedophiles and pederasts), but for the overwhelming number of mature, healthy adults, it is not. No, it is not common for emotionally mature adults to remain fixated on acquiring much younger partners. To answer your question about what age is permissible for a young man to engage in prostitution (which is a pliable trade that is legalized in certain countries like Brazil), of course, the answer for that is the legally pernissible age — which in Brazil is 18. Therefore, any client who is over 18, even if he is 118, has the legal right in that country to hire a consenting hooker who is any age above 18. However, I don’t think the legal right to do something like this (in Brazil) was ever up for debate here. What I found alarming (not simply singling out one poster here, as this can be a recurring theme on this forum) is an unhealthy fixation on youth in sex partners from significantly much older men that skirts the borders of pederasty. Bragging about seeking out a 45 year age difference between partners just set me off — but I am fully aware that there are quite a number of posters / readers here that are fond of that kind of thing — to the point of exclusion. Often times, one can read comments here from aged posters who like to tell readers that there are young, barely legal garotos who enjoy the company of elderly men and actively seek them out for sexual pleasure. There could be some truth to that, and some of it could be wishful thinking, fantasy and projection. I usually find such talk harmless and only remark when it seems like someone may be engaging in predatory-like behavior. I found Rio’s defense whataboutism regarding the scenario of a 40-something hooking up with a 21-25 year old when he is old enough to be his father as nothing but a diversionary tactic. The original topic was about Glenn Greenwald and David Miranda, who were reportedly 38 and 20 when they hooked up. That’s an 18 year age difference, and depending on the circumstances, would raise some eyebrows and in others, wouldn’t even make a shoulder shrug. Obviously, the scale slides as the age gap widens. A 20-year gap is less brow-furrowing than a 30-year, which is less than a 45-year, which is even less than a 50-year. I do not enjoy or entertain “slippery slope” arguments, as they often engage in fallacies that ignore the possibility of middle ground. His retort was also concerning to me, because it assumes that everyone is like him and only seeks out men who are fresh out of their teens. There are working men out there (in saunas, on the apps, on beaches, on apps) that are in their late 20s, 30s , and 40s. I’ve mentioned before that I have a preference for masculine men with muscular, athletic builds, who are preferably but not always men of color. A few of my favorite garotos have absolutely incredible builds and are not very far off from my own age (I’m in my mid to late 40s). Of course, in general, the more melanin in your skin, the more youthful your appearance remains as well. But to actively rule out men who are closer to one’s age and exclusively seek out young garotos who are fresh out of their teens, especially when you yourself came of age during the Truman or Eisenhower administrations, to me, seems problematic. Call me crazy.

You just bragged about a 45 year age difference between you and your pursuits. That’s not “aging”, that’s “aged”. That train has already left the station. Since we’ve gotten into memes as a viable communication method, there are some pretty funny but true memes posted by those crazy kids on the interwebz that state what kind of mature man they seek for pleasure and profit:

Trump Bans Most Travel To Cuba

That’s true. But I do. I keep very detailed records —- primarily because I don’t trust this fascist administration. Also, I have a list of the banned establishments. Basically, it’s anything that is not a private establishment. It includes many popular tourist spots, like the rooftop of the Ambos Mundos Hotel (where Ernest Hemingway stayed) and the Nacional Hotel. It’s beyond ridiculous -

I still see that one can still fly there commercially under the “support for the Cuban people” category. Which is how I went last year after his first ban. -
But a 45 year age difference? Come on! Isnt there a 50 year old, even a 40 year old. Hell, a 30-something! Not necessarily this poster, but what’s seriously icky are the posters who reject much younger garotos because of their age (too old, like in their 30s) —- and these fuckers are around 70 themselves!

In Brazil, it’s highly probable that he would not self-identify or be identified as black. In the USA, however, he would definitely fit under the umbrella of “black” (like most Afro-Latinos in America) — our “one-drop rule” here. And the circumstances not only of their age / class differences, but also of their meeting somehow strangely always seem to get glossed over and made to seem so romantic and magical. My conclusion is that my it’s because it’s two males. Had David been a barely 20 year old favela high school girl named Daniella, you just know that every reporter and gossip blogger would be commenting on it and investigating.

Great Minds Think Alike. Also, there’s the retired garotos, or the ones that refuse to or no longer work at the saunas in Brazil (for personal reasons), but will magically appear at these European saunas during a visit paid for by.a client / temporary sugar daddy. Personally, I would not finance a trip that results in others sampling the goods I that I imported / transported there, but to each his own. Viva le difference! -

Often, when talking to Brazilian garotos (whether in saunas or out), you’ll find some who have visited these places and more — usually either to work at the saunas and/or at the behest of a European sugar daddy who’s sponsored the trip in exchange for goodies. -
Curiosity killed the cat. You’re right. Hardly anyone can “live up to my incredibly high standards”. However, I have found a number of them to keep me company. Especially, but not necessarily limited to, Brazil. If we are never going to sleep together, why does it matter to you what I like? Are you a professional matchmaker? If you’re comfortable with your preferences, and I’m comfortable with mine, and neither of us have any issues landing what we like, then that’s all that should matter. Right?

You might appreciate this photo more. I wouldn’t exactly throw him out of bed if he ended up there, but I wouldn’t chase him down on the beach and offer to upgrade him, either. Face is A* but body is meh. I’m sure that’s the absolute best that Greenwald will ever get, though. I say, good for David, for working it. This is the kind of story that many posters here dream would happen to them. All it takes is some good luck, great timing, and the bank accounts of a senior partner in a litigation law firm that cashed out his millions, started blogging and moved to Rio!
-
That’s their story and they’re sticking to it! BTW, anyone who’s a semi-regular at the beaches along Posto 8 and 9 (especially the gay section) already knows that it would be almost logistically impossible for a volleyball game to interfere with where the beach dwellers are sitting / laying down having drinks. Unless that beach dweller is trolling really, really close to the volleyball net, cruising the players!

1. David Miranda is a handsome garoto, but he isn’t my physical type at all. Maybe he is yours. One could certainly do worse. 2. Greenwald looks like a toad that jumped out from under a pond rock. What you’ve mis-detected is disgust for his physical appearance and disdain for his role in politics. He (and David, and kids and dogs) have a nice place in Gavea, though.
