Oh wow, I do remember WNCR 99.5. It was a great station and very popular in the early 70s here. If I recall correctly it was a shooting star and was only around for a few years. Here's an air check vid on Youtube I found, in case you hadn't seen (heard) it before:

lol, great story. I wouldn't be surprised if I listened to you on the radio as I was born and raised in Cleveland. Remember WIXY 1260? Small world

love that song....sorry to hear of his passing. RIP

Probably any combination of the three in a sequence make sense and has happened to someone at some point

Glad to hear that things are progressing in a positive way for your dad. Hope the trip back home allows you some time to relax. Safe travels.

Continuing with our English language as a conundrum.... Let's face it - English is a crazy language. There is no egg in eggplant, nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple. English muffins weren't invented in England or French fries in France . Sweetmeats are candies while sweetbreads, which aren't sweet, are meat. We take English for granted. But if we explore its paradoxes, we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig.. If the plural of tooth is teeth, why isn't the plural of booth, beeth? One goose, 2 geese. So one moose, 2 meese? If teachers taught, why didn't preachers praught? If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat? Sometimes I think all the English speakers should be committed to an asylum for the verbally insane. In what language do people recite at a play and play at a recital? Ship by truck and send cargo by ship? Have noses that run and feet that smell? How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man and a wise guy are opposites? You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which your house can burn up as it burns down, in which you fill in a form by filling it out and in which, an alarm goes off by going on.

You think English is easy? I think a retired English teacher was bored... 1) The bandage was wound around the wound. 2) The farm was used to produce produce. 3) The dump was so full that it had to refuse more refuse. 4) We must polish the Polish furniture.. 5) He could lead if he would get the lead out. 6) The soldier decided to desert his dessert in the desert.. 7) Since there is no time like the present, he thought it was time to present the present. 8) A bass was painted on the head of the bass drum. 9) When shot at, the dove dove into the bushes. 10) I did not object to the object. 11) The insurance was invalid for the invalid. 12) There was a row among the oarsmen about how to row. 13) They were too close to the door to close it. 14) The buck does funny things when the does are present. 15) A seamstress and a sewer fell down into a sewer line. 16) To help with planting, the farmer taught his sow to sow. 17) The wind was too strong to wind the sail. 18) Upon seeing the tear in the painting I shed a tear.. 19) I had to subject the subject to a series of tests. 20) How can I intimate this to my most intimate friend?

Mission accomplished for today...thanks AS

I'll share my secret for always having a successful meal....cook with wine.

That's great and well done....to paraphrase a well known saying: A journey of a thousand home cooked feasts begins with a single meal. If all else fails, get yourself a nice houseboy to do the cooking for you: or

Well there you go. Too gay or not gay enough? lol Thanks for the post AS, I found that very informative. The comparison with Brokeback Mountain was interesting. Both movies had very big star power but perhaps the difference is that Brokeback was more for a younger audience and as such the topic was more acceptable to them? Just speculating but I do find it fascinating. In any case, I am glad it did find a home at HBO, even though I won't be able to watch it unless it somehow comes out on Demand TV, NetFlix or DVD at some point.

I was surprised to see that this was a film for HBO and not theater release. I just assumed that with two stars of the stature of Michael Douglas and Matt Damon that it would be. Perhaps the audience who would be interested in seeing this isn't that big for theatrical release? Just found it interesting and was wondering why.

Good question. Not sure how the views are counted but if it adds one view for each time I come back to check comments and to gaze on these lovely lads then that would account for about 100 views It could also be guests who can't vote but can check it out. (although I am never sure if guests can actually view the pics in a post or not). Other than that, perhaps the others that view it just aren't interested in any of the four presented so don't vote at all.

I don't have any written in stone rules for myself when it comes to length of time. While I prefer longer appointments, sometimes the hour ones work for me just fine. Typically the shorter ones happen for guys who haven't been reviewed but there are exceptions. I always get rates for the hour, multiple hours/evening and for an overnight. Often the marginal cost between those three will influence my choice. I hire mostly when I travel and typically budget a certain amount of money for extracurricular activities. If I go to a city with a great deal of choices that interest me (like London), then to stay in budget I tend to hire for shorter times and hire more guys. Other places only have one or two at most that interest me so then the appointments tend to be longer. For me, the last year or two have been less hiring due to less travel but when I do hire they are for longer periods (at least an evening but often an overnight) because of the places I am traveling to and selection available.

Number 1, then number 3 a close runner up for me.

Well hi, the nature of a secret code is that it is a secret so I can't divulge it.....however I can give you the decoder ring, or better yet a link to a site that allows you to copy FourAces code and paste it in the binary section and decode it that way: http://home.paulschou.net/tools/xlate/

I hate when that happens. A decent footman is so hard to find these days. As I start to gain more confidence in the kitchen I am slowly starting to make fresh fish, always baked so far, rather than those dreadful fish sticks from the freezer. I found that a butcher near me flies in fresh salmon and scrod every Thursday so I often go up there first thing Friday to get some. However, for some reason I find cooking fresh fish to be a bit of a challenge for me and still searching for that foolproof method so your tips are much appreciated..

I didn't realize dogs would enjoy yolks. Made some hard boiled eggs after reading this and gave a yolk to our dog and she loved it. Thanks for this and you made my little girl a very happy doggie this evening

It is interesting to compare styles of Pope Francis with Pope Benedict, much of it provides some insight into differences in substance as well: 1. Changed the golden throne to a wooden chair ...something more appropriate for the son of a carpenter. 2. Did not want the gold-embroidered red stole, heir of the Roman Empire, nor the red cape... 3. Uses same old black shoes, not the classic red. 4. Uses a metal cross, not of rubies and diamonds. 5. His papal ring is silver, not gold. 6. Uses the same black pants under the cassock, to remember that he is just another priest. 7. Removed the red carpet ...He is not interested in fame and applause

This pope is different, in many ways, and much of it comes from being a Jesuit (Society of Jesus). An interesting article I read mentioned the following: "With their emphasis on missions work and intellectual pursuits, Jesuits often work on the margins of the church, sometimes overstepping boundaries set by Rome. It’s a point of pride among some Jesuits that they frequently challenge authority and seem to have a predisposition for coloring outside the lines." http://www.pcusa.org/news/2013/3/20/why-first-jesuit-pope-big-deal/ I hope Pope Francis does his best to "color outside the line" moving forward to help bring the Church into the 21st century, or at least the 20th

I love eggs (prepared in any and every way) and could eat them everyday for breakfast if it wasn't for cholesterol. I would try the steaming method but I don't have a steamer. My "recipe" for hard boiled eggs is pretty straightforward and works (for me) every time. 1. Take eggs out of fridge and allow to warm up some before cooking. 2. Put eggs in a pot (sized so the number of eggs you want to make so it covers the bottom in one layer). 3. Fill the pot with cold water to just cover eggs. 4. Add salt to the water. That is a critical step for making sure the hard boiled egg peels very easily. It works, believe me, but I have no idea why just having salt added to the water does it. 5. Turn on heat and bring to a slow boil. 6. Immediately turn off heat, cover and let sit for about 15 minutes. 7. Rinse eggs in cold water, refrigerate. 8. Peal and eat as the mood strikes.

Known quite a few people like that....usually happens after they've had a few drinks

Wow, absolutely amazing. I couldn't do anything half as good as that.
