On a side note, the last two chat bubbles from the Niteroi boy on Grindr would translate like : "I can't wait to start my english lessons so I will be able to leave this country back, even more so if Bolsonaro is elected". He only wants to flee from the homophobia Bolsonaro will bring. PS. Loved your report as always Numazu, keep them coming!

SALVADOR, BAHIA, Dec 22 to Jan 3
docbr replied to Latbear4blk's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
On notice, there are many gay guys (or at least gay friendly muscle guys) going to porto da barra ... If you look like a foreign tourist some guys (or girls) may insinuate to you they are available to a programa. Just keep your smarts on, keep the minimum with you. I always remember the first time I stepped on Porto da Barra and a ripped hot capoeirista immediately came up to me to shake hands and asked in english "where are you from? USA? europe? want Marihuana? Girls?"... I was so timid and nervous that I just answered in portuguese... "no thats not the kind of fun I like" and walked away. He made a face to make me sure he got what I was meaning and said "what you need just come up to me". I regret not coming back that day... but had my fun at the saunas anyway. On a side note, Salvador is a super early city... I had the best time when arriving early at the beachs and at the saunas. Planetarium 11 was less busy last time I was there, but always had someone of my liking. Fox is a bit more upscale, have fewer options, but I've met gorgeous guys there. Go early in the afternoon... like 4 pm. -
Went to Blue Thermas and Thermas Boa Vista at Recife on 3 occasions in the last 15 days... always went to Blue Thermas earlier (around 6-7 pm) and after one or two hours left to Thermas Boa Vista. Not once found someone I liked on Blue Thermas and only found a ripped thin guy (construction worker body) on thermas Boa Vista once... had a average programa. I had more luck with Grindr/Tinder here, with the free guys.

In my experience, Recife and Salvador are hit or miss - at least about saunas. You can find a gorgeous athletic model like stud like the top stars of Lagoa/SP in Salvador or Recife, but in some travels you can find not one boy you like a given weekend (or travel). I would go Rio on your dates if you have the budget. The saunas are almost empty on 23-25 dec and 31-1 Jan (in all cities), make sure to make arrangements with a boy you like if not planning to stay alone in Christmas or New Year's Eve.

Rio and nearby sights: what's fun? What's boring?
docbr replied to caeron's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
This one is tricky... If you feel inclined to do so make sure you have built a safe network around you... knowing where you are going to stay, knowing if he shares his home with somebody else and letting other people know you are staying with Gabriel there. Unfortunately São Gonçalo is one of the most dangerous parts of the metropolitan area. I would not advice any tourist going there if not with someone he really trust. -
Ow sorry for the iPad loss, the moment you wrote that you played porn for the boy on it I knew something bad was going to happen. Golden rule is to not have anything valuable, including eletronics, on sight. About the scam of alleged rape, never heard about someone convicted or imprisoned here in Brazil for raping another adult male. Police would never believe the rape accusations, but It would be a hassle to clarify everything. I'm pretty sure tho, that the grindr boy would never want any police involved. Grindr encounters are more dangerous than the saunas, and not for the unexperienced. Boys, including the sauna ones, will likely try to take advantage of you if you show any sort of uneasy or insecurity. The saunas are safer, and the risk is only discussing about a fee with the reception staff if a boy try to get more money off you. Hope you ended you trip well after the incident.

Glad to hear about your resolution to keep the reports going numazu1. Count me on those who love your way on telling your stories and those long and detailed reports. -
Nice to hear that Jacqueline is there, she worked very well. In my first visits on 117 she always asked me if I had any problem and even asked a couple of times how the boy had behaved (maybe a new boy on the staff or anyone under her vigilant eyes...)

Wow numazu1!! Great tale, thank you for sharing it! Gabriel was a find on your trip, and I'm glad he treated you really well! It's funny (and sometimes tragic) how easy it is to make small mistakes and expose ourselves to danger when dealing with the boys, but fortunately most of the time the boys from the saunas were honest and nothing happened. Hope your next travel is a blast too and you can share again it with us! -
I was with the Rafael of the picture in my mind when you wrote your tale Riobard, as he is one of the tallest guys in the saunas. Now you have me wondering who this Rafael is that is even hulkier than him rsrsrs

Visa question: getting a garoto to come to the US
docbr replied to Tartegogo's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Well, I know at least one garoto from sauna 117 that got a US visa (tourist probably) to see a rich patron there in California for sometime. Don't know the details, but I'm pretty sure he is unemployed, not a student and didn't own property (he was 26 I think). Brazil being Brazil, heard the easiest way to get a Visa is contacting a "despachante" or a travel agency (like CVC) that will help with the documentation and with orientation for the interview, paying a small extra fee. I guess that a visa application in the middle of several ones from a travel agency may raise less suspicion (or maybe the consulate officials in Brazil are doing the brazilian way and receiving fees to facilitate the process, who knows). Anyway, although its a bit harder now than it was before to get a visa, the success rate on application for the american visa for brazilians are higher than 80% now, down from a 97% success rate when the economy was booming. -

Amazing report numazu1, thank you so much ! Makes me want to spend all my savings and buy the first flight to Rio de Janeiro Waiting impatiently to read how was the rest of your night! -
Fair enough. Although it makes me sad that some of the information about the scene is now behind closed doors, the photo leak to the saunas guys was unacceptable and even this being internet that kind of exposure is unwanted for almost everybody here. That said I hope you will continue to post the more general info about Rio (and Mexico) in the open area Tomcal, as its always great to stay aware about some of the happenings there, even now that I'm unable to travel for some time.

I think you will love Belo Horizonte Tomcal... went once and met some boys on sauna Olympos, they were very friendly, and even went out with them to dinner (no, I was only paying my dinner) and to a club to have fun. Obvious that at saunas the boys were working, but out of there they were just having fun, so different from the professionalism of the boys on Rio and SP ... and fun we had over the next days, I even lost my plane back home and had to reschedule to a later day.

Nice post... I think a nice clue is how many followers they have. A garoto with 776.000 followers like the first one is likely only replying to offers that are many times worth a "programa"... like a modeling job, clothes offers, a nice travel with expenses $$$ paid... that kind of thing. I don't use instagram to get garotos de programa, but I have a friend that was a sauna boy for a couple of years and now is a somewhat know instagram boy with like 200.000 followers and says he makes his living from there and don't go to saunas anymore. He says he gets a lot of "gifts" from his followers, and many of those are for nothing or very little. My advice... avoid those with a high follower count, they tend to be busier. Or up a lot your proposals.
