Prior to 2015, when I used to be regularly at Lagoa (by that I mean 4 trips to SP a year, visiting the place several times on each visit), it was a recurring scene, nowadays it seems it has been tamed to a certain point, still the dressed Lagoa boy (on designer labels of course) with a snotty attitude to anyone who doesn't belong to his clique still can be found on the premises. I never noticed anything similar in Rio. There are no model types (not a model city to begin with), the patrons don't have anywhere the money paulistas do (the richest city in the Americas out of US and Canada-by far) and neither 202 or 117 has the ambience for a demi-monde situation. By the way, for many years towels are mandatory at 117, unless the boy in on it's way out and decides briefly talk to someone. Important: Foreigners and non-paulistas are a major no-no!. What use daddy has if he might not be around when you need him the most?

There is a rarefied class of garotos that don't even go up to suites, they just go out with certain clients, I'm talking about a time when Lagoa had another owner (now deceased), I don't know if this kind of thing still goes, but the boys didn't pay an entrance fee, they wouldn't be caught dead wearing a towel and would be very selective with who they would make eye contact. So, one might ask, how the place would make money on them? They were the ones that brought the loaded clients, not uncommon to see 3 or 4 middle age guys in a table surrounded by pretty boys downing bottles of very expensive scotch and champagne. At the end everybody went their way, usually out to fancier surroundings, the guys with the hottest boys, the boys dreaming of a potential sugar and the owners happy for having unloaded some very expensive bottles. In the golden days, that was what Lagoa was about. Possibly, some of it still lingers.

Chili Peppers in Sao Paulo is a gay hotel/sauna with private suites with Jacuzzis. You can find a boy on premises (not rent boys), or, more wisely, bring your own. Of course is more expensive than a regular suite at other saunas.

About tips: tips are an American thing, where you supposed to tip everybody, is very moderate in Europe and non-existent in Asia. In Brazil, which is obviously the case here, you tip the waiter that serves you food and the hotel worker that carries your bags, that's about it. If you are in a bar, sat on a table for drinks, an additional 10% will be included on your bill anyway, you should no go any further than that. If you are in a bar and you go to the counter order a beer or whatever, you pay exclusively for the cost of the drink, bartenders don't get tipped by Brazilians, unlike they get tipped by Europeans and definitely not by Asians. In a sauna, for example, if you tip the help, you are being very gracious, they are not counting on it. I've worked for tips in NYC for many years and me and my co-workers knew in advance if we would get a tip or not. In a crowded disco, for example, Asians, included the many ones that were born in the States and were aware of the culture, would be served last, regardless of time they reached the bar counter, because the staff knew that tips would not happen. If you are in Brazil, if food is not involved, tip if you feel like. Important: cab drivers are not tipped by Brazilians ever!

I suggested avoid complaining or refusing to pay because of the quality of the performance, in case of the boy asking for substantially more than was the deal, I would notify the management, they have a good idea of what the boys are charging and in the case of something outlandish they will do something about it. Is not in their best interest to have workers robbing the clients and the possibility of the police coming in is the thing they fear the most.

I agree, the guy is a natural born model, he can look anything he or anybody wants from an Italian station to a dumb Canadian singer, I've seen him looking like Bieber even during Bieber brunette look, my least favorite look is the blonde one, cause it looks the fakest, but of course is a matter of personal taste, although the photo of that crotch on the boat is entirely disturbing (in a good way of course). I hear he has been hired by a major model agency, hopefully they will get him better work than an extra at a stupid music video. Regarding Anitta, I think she doesn't even have talent to write catchy pop songs, like Madonna for example, her whole thing is a very basic beat, supplied by professional DJs, like the American Diplo, including the current song, and she just add some double entendre lyrics to make them appealing. Like everybody that uses this kind of trick, she can only go so far. Better enjoy her 15 minutes.

I agree that the location is a concern, hopefully I'm wrong, but walking around in that area after 10 PM is not that secure, specially considering that the competition, in both cases, is pretty close to the subway. I also agree that promotion/special offers are gonna be key for a successful run. Free suites on week nights will be a challenge, bound to overlap with the others, maybe a free suite combined with a "boys nus" will have a chance. Is there a space for 3 major saunas with garotos in Rio? Hopefully there is.

This is regarding Tomcal reply to the "naked boys" post: Another era another trial! Plus is a way to differentiate from the others. Can anyone stand to the same 5 drag-queens rotating from one sauna to the next? There are those who feel that the sight of boys wandering around in the buff is akin to paradise. An idea for now that the sauna scene in Rio will again be a cut- throat business: somebody should bring back the "boys nus" nights, the once legendary and heavenly night of totally naked garotos at 117. Some 202 boys already do it on occasion, just have to make it mandatory, once a week, either there or elsewhere, competition will be fierce. Survival of the fittest, pun intended.
