Lotta tasty smoked meat in that photo. No reason to travel to Montreal from this hemisphere. So what does one call it? Hot spiced prosciubasa/kielsciutto ?

Tom, I have to admit I am a bit disappointed. Over the years, most likely you have used most if not all of the rooms at Meio Mundo. One of the boys joked to me that I knew that numbers for the different rooms better than he did. So, I think it is either in 11 or 13, as well as a couple of others that have a cavalette(little horse) as part of decorations. I (am ashamed to?) admit to having used it for more than a few one-on-ones in about four different positions. But I have yet to see you and your carefully selected groupings ever display photographs of the varied possibilities with multiple boys. Could be mind-boggling. Could be an addendum to the Joy og Gay Sex, Carioca Edition with you being able to claim an author/photographer credit. IHOP aka FavellaDweller

FavelaDweller Made It (kind of) To The New York Times
ihpguy replied to ihpguy's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Well, the NY Times is the talk of the island here. While going down the boarding ramp after exiting the ferry this afternoon, a very hot evangelical pastor who definitely knows my "persuasion", just said loudly to me, "otimo comentario" or "great commentary" that I posted to the paper. My friend who rents bikes and quadricycles was quite proud to see Seth exiting his shop during the video. Fun to at times be remembered in this northermost point of the city of Rio de Janeiro. However, more fun to have a hot Carioca in the sack. -
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/11/10/travel/in-rio-and-sao-paulo-go-north.html?smid=pl-share If you watch the video, mocoto, which they neglected to translate, is actually a specialty here - marrow. At the 2:20 mark, the food market here makes their own ice cream which is quite nice At the 3:34 mark, Seth gets saved by a guy in a sunga who offered himself up to me one afternoon after gaining entrance to my yard by some subterfuge about comparing our lawncare regimens. He is currently married to quite a cute little dyke.

Another reminder from today's SP CNN news

Thanks for the props, riosul77. These militias are made up of retired firemen, police officers and ex-military. Besides recently occupying the vacuum left by the expulsion of the drug trafficers from the favelas, they have more many more years had this established racket in various neighborhoods of the city. Without question, there would be no way for them to control high-rise neighborhoods such as Flamengo, Botafog, Ipa and Copa. However, I have acquaintances who live in two western suburbs, Taquara and Barra da Guaratiba who have been paying 100Reais/month for at least 6 or 7 years, if not longer. Interestingly, I met someone on BADOO as possible boyfriend material, whose father is a retired army officer living in Barra da Guaratiba. Now the dad is fairly young and doesn't need to work. It didn't work out with the son. A simpleton. Really he is. And he hasn't worked in about five years. Live in a very nice house. Do not seem to have money troubles. Wonder why? So this goes back to the murder of Joao Rodrigo. Of course, without question, this can be a very violent place. Could be any number of reasons why he was murder. But one that wasn't mentioned was not paying off his store for protection. This is something no one here really talks about. Except when statistics are studied and publicized as to who actually controls the favelas after their "pacification"by the UPP. -

I have been posting on a certain matter here for quite some time, whether anyone here chooses to read and consider is something else. Here in Rio, where police, fire and military wages and pensions are often only a little above the minimum wage and not enough to survive on, and where any retire needs two pensions to actually live above starvation level, the malicia protection rackets have taken over the favelas as the UPP have"pacified" them by evicting the traficantes from them. I have read reports that the malicia now control about 60 percent of all of the favelas and poorer neighborhoods. They demand and get small amounts of monthly tribute from the residents and larger amounts from the business owners to be kept "safe." I have been told that Acyr and Jorge at Meio Mundo, as well as Monik at 117 have to pay much large sums for "protection"of their businesses. It is possible that Joao Rodrigo Silva Santos chose not to pay, figuring that since his wife worked as some type of social worker for the UPP, that was "good enough." -
Try the Brasilian dating sight, disponivel.com and post a profile. There are lots of guys looking from this area of Brasil at badoo.com. Neither charge any money to register. Funny, but after I had been to Foz in 2012, I had 3 guys contact me via BADOO. A friend swears by gayromeo. Me, not so much. For more sex and less relationship-type meeting, which seems to be your case, manhunt is very, very popular here.

I've been twice for a total of about ten days. Tons to do. Each park/side is different. The Argentine side definitely has better food. Much cheaper to stay in the city of Porto Iguazu and not in the park .Do go inside the dam. Great tour. Fun little zoo in Foz. Both times traveled with someone I was sleeping with so never tried the saunas.

Adam Smith: You are needed. There is a great headline waiting to be written on the order of "headless body found in topless bar but don't have much of a clue. Something to do with two eyes and a tongue missing, besides the head, along with the wrest of the corpse's remains. But on a serious note, the G1 website of Globo mentioned that the wife was only a social worker with the UPP and along with a few other killings over the last month, this might be the pledge of the traficantes to disrupt thought of visitors deciding to come for the World Cup next year with a huge wave of violence.

Back in the day, even then having the chance to dot the "i" was tough to achieve. And now, most likely, the Art Schlichter option, a hell of a lot easier now I would assume. Lots of practice in prison, after all. Here's something cute by the band who makes the person who gets to dot the "i" one of the luckiest folks in Ohio. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNe0ZUD19EE

Meio Mundo - Slower Than ...?
ihpguy replied to ihpguy's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Tonight had a reasonable number of clients and boys, not as well-attended as last Monday. There was a plumber working on connections on the first floor, the steam sauna on arrival was not working and some of the showers had reduced flow. I had a session with someone fairly new that I was with last week and then left before seven. Did not recheck the wet sauna once more before departing. -

One message board here has people in neighborhoods ranging from Flamingo and Botafogo all of the way to Barra da Tijuca and Vila Isabel without the wet stuff. -

NO H2O. LOL at the responses. Depending on the neighborhood in Rio, since Thursday. Still none depending on location. Me, I get it from the other side of Guanabara Bay. http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rio_Guandu -

I'm surprised that neither Rio de Janeiro nor Sao Paulo made the list. The boyfriend had moved into a favela temporarily in the Complexo de Salgueiro to the west of Sao Goncalo. He has told me some scary stories about the drug trafficers that would make your toes curl and your balls shrink about life in there. Weird that Vitoria is on the list as of it and its neighbor Vilha Velha, I have only heard good things. For a big city, quite special I've been told. And don't trust the whole story too much as to their desccriptions, as they got the spelling wrong for Macelo. It is actually Maceio. Yours, IHOP akaFavelaDweller

There's something quite disturbing about imagining La Sondheim dressed in chaps, codpiece(?), leather vest, biker's cap and maybe some cute chromed tittie clamps and whipping his sub, restrained in a sling, while whipping him in time to "Ladies Who Lunch" Yours, IHOP akaFavelaDweller

I'm kind of out of it. From the little that I have read, isn't this a bit more for the players in the area like Turkey, Russia and Iran? What is BO even contemplating? Why don't the Qatari's spend some of their billions in sovereign wealth like they have on the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt? Yours, IHOP aka FavelaDweller

By the way, totally off-topic, and someone can slap my hiney even a few times more than my hottie Thiago did over the past few weeks, but I've read infrequently that Mr. Sondheim is or was quite the down n'dirty leatherman. Any truth to the rumours? Yours, IHOP aka FavelaDweller

O Globo had a long interview with the chief trader for monetary policy of the Central Bank of Brasil. The plan is through the end of the year to auction of 500million US in currency swaps Mondays though Thursdays with 1 billion US on Friday. This is to continue through the end of the year. I didn't quite understand why the swaps are preferable to out right currency sales, but that is what they are doing. Yesterday the Real closed at just under 2.35 to the dollar. A while back they lowered some of the consumption taxes here to help stimulate the economy as well as interest rates that the country/banks are paying. This lowered the spread with the inflation rate here and caused outflows of spec currency looking for the next place to invest. At least my take as the economy cools here. Bigger mystery to me is why the QE in the USA has caused the collapse of the Rupee and whatever funny money the use in Indonesia is now something that I really don't understand. Supposedly the next to drop are the Malaysian, Thai and Filipino currencies. Anyone for a cheaper ladyboy in Phuket? Yours, IHOP akaFavelaDweller
