  2. My bad. Started to rain tonight.
  3. 90% chance of rain today. It didn't. Monday is calling for a 20% chance of AM showers. I think that is TomCal's normal rest time or perhaps the agenda is set for morning suruba action.
  4. More Paranguaya, of course. And what about the opposite. Have you all forgotten a female soldier who is looking to gain a set of balls and get rid of the ovaries she/he was born with? One must look at this situation from the other side as well. Since the military's position is that transgendered soldiers cannot serve, that means that they never should have enlisted Bradley/Chelsea, so he/she should be discharged and serve whatever term in a civilian prison where he/she will receive whatever care is needed, required and/or available. I might know a bit more about this than some. I had an employee for a years who ended up getting "snipped." Interestingly, an ex-PGA touring golf professional. Yep. After the surgery, I asked her if she was happy. She said that when the bandages came off and she looked in the mirror, she felt normal for the first time in her life. And this was just being without a penis. She did not have enough money to have labia or testicles fashioned during the first surgery. She only had enough funds to have her penis sliced open, turned inside out and fashioned into a vagina. But what was important was that she was happy. Satisfied. Wishes to Chelsea for the same. It tooks balls, that she no longer wants, to do what she and Edward have done. Neither an easy choice.
  5. Gov. Cabral, along with his vice and Beltrame, the state head of security, went to Brasilia yesterday to plead with Dilma for the assistance of the Federal Forces to help with security in already "pacified" favelas/comunidade is now the politically correct term. Dilma agreed to supply them and they have anounced they are to reoccupy the Complexos de Mare and Manguinhos. When going to the airport, on your left as you make the sharp right turn towards Ilha Fundao where the UFRJ is located then the Airport, that large concentration is the Mare favela. Fun times in the run-up for the next 3 months.
  6. Monday is looking sunny. With a low of 69. How does that number work for you?
  7. Russell Crowe left Rio de Janeiro yesterday after promoting "Noah" His farewell tweet was that the traffic here was terrible as it took him 2hours 20 minutes to transit Ipanema (most likely Hotel Fasano) to Galeao. Like sitting through Gladiator again with all of the blood, guts and violence, only this time when passing the favelas in Mare and Manguinhos.
  8. Or possibly both.
  9. Hey. But what do I know. I'm just an ignorant favela dweller who is totally out of the loop on what goes on down here. A broken down beach bum, if you will. But hey, I feel great post heart surgery. Haven't been this feisty in years. Not sure if it is due to my much-improved health(first time off heart medications in 17 years) or all of the great sex with the hot Brasilian boyfriend.
  10. So Simple. Combination of paranoia + paragon + paraguay (A term that Brasilians here use to describe two things = the pirated garbage that often is imported through the rump of a state that is a lousy excuse for a nation, as well as a slang expression for a garbage can. eg. When tossing something such as an empty beer can into a garbarge can and it swishes in, it is considered good form to exclaim "Paraguay" So put them all together and what do you have? Paranguaya.
  11. Not sure why I expect Minsk and Pinsk to be up next for reconquest by Putin.
  12. Yesterday the northside of Rio proper was pretty much one large transit mess. Not due to the Centro reconstructions, but to a new initiative to combat the drug trafficers in a favela already supposedly "pacificed" by the UPP. This time it was Manguinhos, not far from the Galeao International Airport. First link are to photos from the initial occupation in 2012 and the second are from yesterday. http://www.demotix.com/photo/1522621/police-occupy-one-most-dangerous-slums-r-o-de-janeiro http://oglobo.globo.com/rio/manguinhos-tem-noite-de-tiros-ataque-upp-11940193 Except for the language in the graffiti on the sides of the destroyed buildings, not much different from photos from the Middle East. Located southwest of the airport. Manguinhos is a lower-class neighborhood as well as unplanned favela. Many might have noticed the old headquarters building of the Fundacao Oswaldo Cruz, principal research hospital for Brasil, while going to the airport. Quite ornate. By the by, I used to date the assistant director of the place a few years back. Very pleasant grounds. Fountains, Food service. Nice place to visit. The surroundings, (insert gallows humor chuckle) not so much.
  13. I didn't know one thread had any connection to another. Except the author. But doubt all you want Ms. Paranguaya. The next time you think it might be starting to rain, better take a look at your foot, just to make sure a dog hasn't come up and peed on it.
  14. CNN is reporting that it is expected that his casket will float out of the cemetery, from everyone pissing on his grave.
  15. Responding to Paranoia and the comment on the need for shoe inspections I cannot tell you my source, but it is very reliable and someone in the US Federal Government, but Richard Reed, "The Shoe Bomber" who was caught, was not the first shoe bomber, there was one before him who was successful and who did bring down a plane although the reason for the downing was not due to a shoe bomb. The Feds never actually told the public the true story. You can't handle the truth!......You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall. You need me on that wall. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it! I'd rather you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to!
  16. Unlucky for them
  17. So fucked-up unlucky to have to be reminded.
  18. Jill ("Silver Streak", "An Unmarried Woman") Clayburgh - Mother - Actor David ("Boom Boom Room") Rabe - Father -Writer
  19. Imagine if Lily's Mama was still around to costar. That would be cool.
  20. Here is a photo of the new museum designed by Santiago Calatrava and jutting out into the bay from the Praca Maua, where the cruise ships dock.
  21. Here are a couple of photos of what is going on in Rio's great transformation and why the center of the city is such a mess transit-wise. Incredibly traffic isn't any worse than I expected, but that isn't saying much. Taxis are only allowed to pick up fares at designated stops, one-way streets have been changed to run the other way, one-way Avenida Rio Branco is now a two-road with a central lane going in only one direction for taxis and vans only, one thousand parking spaces were obliterated to force commuters out of their cars and every bus line transiting downtown has been altered, switched, canceled. And to top it all off, as you can see from these photos, the Perimetral elevated highway stretching from Airport Santos-Dumont all the way to the bus station and the beginning of Avenida Brasil is almost a distant memory. The white aluminum wall is the closing of the Mergulhao (The Big Dive) underpass of Praca XV where tons of bus lines transited the central district. In another thread there were a couple of comments concerning the lack of patience for our Mayor Paes. Well, it is one enormous headache when the major artery in the city is closed and 8-12 lanes of traffic availability disappear.
  22. Sadly it doesn't look like there is enough down there to floss with. And not enough to compete with the boyfriend's 20cm.
  23. I'm glad we have different tastes in Thiago's. Before I went to this thread and opened it, thought for a second that my guy had a second job.
  24. Little Toni must be crapping his pants. What next?
  25. But I believe that rinsing out with his ginger-flavored urine would be quite the tonic to any germs from his red crotch hairs. Come on, HITO, didn't you know that that is any ginge's secret attraction? Ginger-flavored dick and spooge as well?
