Ian Thorpe, Australian Olympic Swimmer, Comes Out As Gay
ihpguy replied to TotallyOz's topic in The Beer Bar
Finally. That took longer than.....Paul Lynde? Rip Taylor? Richard Simmons? -
Bite your tongue. Today's match between th Oranje and Messi's Rangers should be a goodie. And followed last night's record-setting whitewash between Germany and Brasil was the best example of a Blitzkrieg since Hitler went marching through Europe.

...and in every interview they are sure to thank their plastic surgeons and related attendant inserters of REJUVEBOTOXINOL

Where's Anita Hill and her fur pie when we really need her?

It's called football. They kick the ball with their feet. They don't play carry the ball in your hands. And if the American viewing public could see the world's best players more often, like the Champion's League, UEFA Cup, etc. more easily, the "BEAUTIFUL GAME" might gain even more in popularity stateside.

Meio Mundo now costs 40Reais entry. And Clube 117 is now up to 50Reais. Both saunas have a Cavalete in some of the rooms/suites. MM bar has vinyl covered banquets that run the length of the room. Haven't been to 117 since last year. But when last there, part of the bar had been built out with more suites with part left as a second TV room with the bar at times staffed, more often not. There is a round bed in the center of the space, chairs and tables, sofa along the walls, all of which is fairly private and a good place to get to know the boy even more intimately before deciding to actually get a suite. Have not been to 202 since 2007. MM does not have wifi.

Nobody excited on this board?
ihpguy replied to ihpguy's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
What a supper last night. Started an ended with great desserts. Along with hummus as an appetizer and a main course of codfish. One minute less and we might have missed the apple pie. What a cock-up, huh? -
Yesterday's matches were really thrilling. Lionel Messi scoring with 3 minutes left in extra time and winning 1-0 against Iran. In Tehran, they were cheering with excitement at coming so close to a tie with one of the best sides in the world. Bosnia & Herzegovinia getting jobbed by the umpire on an offside and losing to Nigeria And who ever imagined Ghana and Germany ending tied in giving the US almost a free entry into the knockouts. And today, who or what do you prefer to eat. Creme fraiche Belgian truffles or Caviar Blinis? Dog-Ka-Bobs or Hummus? And finally, Mom's Apple Pie or Bacalhau?

We used to have the Pekin Chinks back in the day. So what's so wrong with calling a kike a kike, a redskin a redskin and a chink and chink. I read so much about da bruthas and sistas. Where is Artchie Bunker when we need him now, more than ever?

I can't help it. I miss Chiefs Illiniwek and Nokahoma. Classless is as class does.

Okay. Not sure for the reason. Maybe Cariocas really do love sushi; served in enough por quilos after all. Or maybe there are a lot more people here that like their sex the Greek way? But tonight's match from Natal between Greece and Japan is being broadcast live on three over-the-air channels, four cable channels and no kidding, 10 different HiDef channels.

I have a friend here who used to announce Futebol/soccer in Southern California on the radio. He is very knowledgable. His favorites to win are Germany from Europe and Argentina and Brasil, of course. His dark horse picks are Belgium and Colombia. Glaring weakness for the Selecao this time is the striker, Fred.

Spain died. Chile killed them 2-0 with even 6 minutes of stoppage time in the second half. One of the biggest shockers in WC history in the opinion of the announcers. La Furia Roja were more tranquil and calm than a fury. And as far as the red, the must be the figurative blood of their side that they left on the green pitch of the Maracana. Fireworks here as one of Brasil's prime challengers is out of the competition with 2 straight losses. I think Germany still has the strongest team in the Cup, but we'll see.

Americans Try Brazilian Snacks
ihpguy replied to JKane's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Think like unusual AMerican sweets, but the Brasil version. Not savory shit, Lurker. Green River soda. Saltwater taffy. Necco wafers. Animal Crackers. That powdery sweet stuff kids pour in their mouths? -
For those not sure what "Crustaceos" are? Crustaceans (Crustacea) form a very large group of arthropods, usually treated as a subphylum, which includes such familiar animals as crabs, lobsters, crayfish, shrimp, krill and barnacles. The 67,000 described species range in size from Stygotantulus stocki at 0.1 mm (0.004 in), to the Japanese spider crab with a leg span of up to 3.8 m (12.5 ft) and a mass of 20 kg (44 lb). Like other arthropods, crustaceans have an exoskeleton, which they moult to grow. Pretty positive this leaves out salmon, tuna, sea bass and hake.

Federal Police Threaten World Cup Strike
ihpguy replied to ihpguy's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Dilma was in town to celebrate the opening of the TransCarioca BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) line, one of four planned or underconstruction, the second to be opened, mostly completed. New quick way to get to Barra and Recreio from the airport. Only cost 2.2billion Reias for two dedicated bus lanes. Went past City Hall today and they have security fencing erected, just in case any protesters want to do a Brasilian-style Storming Of The Bastile. Something is rotten here, just to let you know, when this whatever sized newly emerging or already emerged economic power cannot even educate and supply their own health care professionals. Last week I was attended to at the local hospital by a very nice cubana, Doutora Janelis. Interesting to see what happens next. -
Federal Police Threaten World Cup Strike
ihpguy replied to ihpguy's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Some demonstrations on Friday afternoon and evening in front of City Hall. What is really surprising is that the bank guards strike continues. As well as the teachers. Some of the branches in the center of the city have closed for now. They have no guards to protect the branches or their clients from robbery. And besides that problem, the bank cashiers have no cash for transaction. And they are not allowed to take cash deposits. And function that involved cash has to be at the unprotected cash machines. Even crazier is on a couple of occasions I have attempted to enter a branch to talk about one of my accounts and one of a limited number of guards supplied from a firm not on strike has physically pushed against me pushing against him on the other side of the door. It is something from an "I LOVE LUCY" episode, or maybe "Carole Burnett" with us pushing against its other. It is all so absurd when one thinks about it. Guards not permitting a client from entering a bank branch to transact business where one maintains a bank account. I still have fears for more strikes in the next 2 weeks or even while tourists are here. A couple of friends who work for COMLURB - the garbage company - are more than ready to strike. They struck during Carnaval and were looking for a 40% raise. They only settled at a 10% raise. And with hundreds of thousands of foreigners entering the country for the World Cup, this is the absolute perfect moment for the Federal Police to stage a slowdown or strike. The only positive thing is that Dilma has put the federal security forces on duty all over the city. I was In Copacabana and Ipanema on Tuesday, Tijuca on Wednesday and Friday. And Centro every day. The troops are out and on guard at least in these neighborhoods. And they are guaranteed for Sao Cristovao and Maracana. And so many of these army guys are so, so, so hot. I have to admit they are much hotter than either the Navy or Air Force guys you see jogging along the bay of the air force and naval bases. -
So...please explain, Is the Thailand Tourism Authority now promoting raping and pillaging tours?

Hey, Amazonas might be remote but it is quite interesting the general level of unrest over this World Cup https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SdA4gWDrKU#t=77
