  1. Temperature's rising. Bright sun. Little rain. Bring some high SPF with you to get you started..
  2. There is a Banco do Brasil machine in Santos-Dumont airport in the new addition area that is open 24hours/day. The Extra at the Largo do Machado also has long hours and on the same block in the Galeria is a great cheap eats, Rotisseria Sirio-Libanesa.
  3. Espetinho is the whatever on a stick. Take your pick from fried cheese, beef pieces, chicken breast chunks or chicken hearts. I just missed you. Today I was really busy and by the times I got to Meio Mundo I was exhausted. So headed home.
  4. If you like twinks, definitely head over to Meio Mundo on Monday and Friday and check their website. If there are any announced parties, head over there as well on those nights. Two nights ago at MM, as well as two weejs earlier, there seemed to be a whole new group of youngish guys, 18, 19 and 20, and the older ones seemed to have moved out and moved on.
  5. I got back kast week after a month in the USA. One of the highlights at one of TomCal's favorite lunchspots in Laguna Beach, OC. Had a nice evening with the e-boyfriend and then Monday night hit Meio Mundo. The first garoto I was with happened to be a Sauna G the night I was there. He said that they had closed in under a month. Not sure of exact amount of days in existence. Not that it really mattered. But lack of a good layout, few clients, fewer boys and the same prices as the rest surely led to failure. A good indication of its chances certainly was zip on the computerized, client billing system.
  6. A starving man dying for dick could veritably crawl there from the Metro stop. Knees might be a bit messed up while sucking and fucking, but what's a little pain?
  7. Is she related to Maria Chickaboomskaya?
  8. He used to write, or maybe still does, for one of the automotive mags.
  9. In the past at Meio Mundo, they started the entertainment eariler with a stripper show, a break and then the drag show. I thought this was a good idea as it kept the early-arriving customers interested in staying for the show and most likely a second programa. Now they start the show no earlier than 9PM. So for the clients that arrive between 5:30PM to 7:00PM and have a session, there is not much of interest to keep them there until the show starts and some more boys arrive later for the clients who stay for the show. Whether it is drag, strip, bingo or karaoke, the saunas used to do more to keep the clients in the house and not leave after one programa.
  10. It is a viscious circle. The same thing happens at Meio Mundo with the busy nights being on Mondays and lesser on Fridays. It seems none of the owners are very creative at keeping garotos there to attend to clients with any kind of promotions from what I've been told. Like paying 15 or 20Reais on a good night and then free entry on the next night. One garoto was telling me about the failed opening of the new sauna and the lack of both clients and boys, not even mentioning the poor layout of the place. The owners had to be loosing their shirts and needed to think creatively but were not.
  11. I killed Sam. I rammed that fucking statue up his ass for cheating on my Viola before crushing in his skull.
  12. I fear they've jumped the shark
  13. Nauseating? Far from it. Quite enjoyable dish.
  14. AS, please, please. Just don't give me nightmare and post a photo of Ms. Ball doing her Roz impersonation with that gel-covered lens.
  15. I went there last night after a programa at MM. Had a couple of hours to kill before going home. I should have stayed at MM for another instead. When I gather my thoughts, I'll post another thread about the establishment or maybe TomCal might. But I already mentioned to him not to waste any time here. One word of warning: Leaving the sauna later at night is definitely not safe in comparison to Meio Mundo. Last week I walked through the Mangueira favela(admittedly during daylight hours) and I was not anywhere as worried as leaving this sauna at 9:30PM last night.
  16. Maybe a half-mile, maybe less.
  17. My niece discovered that the local St. Vincent DePaul resale outlet took basically everything and gave you a slip with a more-than-reasonable valuation for tax purposes. When Mom first went into assisted living and then from there died four months later, we had to get rid of almost everything, it took us only a few hours. The three surviving kids each took things that had special remembrances for them and the rest all went in a three van loads to St. Vincent's. Not many of the family in the following generation cares about the treasured things with a history from 2 or 3 generations previously. I treasure my Mom's hand-knitted afghans and the favorite artwork of "her lady." And I really wanted this incredible strange bottle opener. I've never seen another before or since. My brother took our grandmother's bread knife brought over from eastern Europe on the boat. My sister has the single silver-plated single used to feed us as kids and the hand-painted plate that our father's nanny gave my parents as a wedding present. That is what ended up being really important Once it is gone, it really is forgotten. Out of sight, out of mind.
  18. But that was only five words and I thought it was said by Rosalind Russell tp Patrick Dennis?
  19. Or perhaps coprophagic, Calliopeon?
  20. Just went through this with my Mom's death in February. Not fun, But necessary. The reality is that they are things that represent your memories and very few others. Few have real monetart value. And after you're gone, no one else really cares about them.
  21. Over in Paris, restocking his closet with the 2015 collection from Christian Louboutain....dontcha know?
  22. Thanks. Those photos just about say it all.
  23. Except that here in Brasil dearie, the only people not afraid to show that kind of cash are the crooked politicians. Banco do Brasil has a 1000Reais limit per day, which might even be enough for a nightlong extravaganza. It used to be called a "suruba" but the boys now call it a "TomCal."
  24. A new sauna with boys opened here in Rio de Janeiro. I went to Meio Mundo last night and one of the guys there told me. Haven't been myself, so this info is only third-hand as the boy who told me had heard from someone else. 5 floors. Open 6 days/week - closed Sundays They have an elevator but it only stops on the 5th floor and the 1st. Small locker area, but then Meio Mundo, the old Spa 73 and Roger's weren't large. The cheapest room foes for 30Reais, so not as cheap as 117 but a bit more than Meio Mundo. Location is on Rua da Quitanda which runs parallel and is halfway between Avenida Rio Branco and Rua Primeiro de Marco. Closest Metro stop is Largo do Carioca There is a Banco do Brasil basically right next door to pull out money. (and for TomCal- There are two Citibank branches on the walk from the Metro stop) www.galaxyclubg.com.br http://netgay.com.br/flyers/flyer1408.jpg And Meio Mundo is open next Sunday afternoon for a drag show, feijoada and sex.
  25. I had to check the calendar and make sure it wasn't 30 March or perhaps a day or two later.
