Lookin, funny that you posted the photo. Taking the airport bus from Galeao into Rio, the drivers are not at all cautious matching claim checks when exiting the bus. But just the opposite with the long distance buses. They have multiple porters at each end passing out claim checks and loading the suitcases onto the correct bus and not permitting other passengers getting near the luggage. And ditto at the other end where there is a line-up of passengers and one doesn't get their suitcase until the claim check isn't presented and then matched against the luggage.

Probably my favorite part of the trip is passing Aparecida. It is the home to the Shrine of Our Lady(Nosso Senhora de) of Aparecida. The basilica is to Brasil's patron saint. It happens to be the second largest church building in the world after St. Peter's in Rome. The other highlight is passing through Sao Jose dos Campos, with the Embraer factory. A definite lowlight is the food stop with poor quality and high prices. I have tried to remember to get something tasty in the Tiete bus terminal or at the other end in Rodoviaria Novo Rio.

Unless you can't find a cheap air fare, try not to take the bus. It isn't bad actually. But the traffic jams on the Marginal expressway on the way to the bus station at Tiete can often be horrendous. There are also three levels of bus service. Not much difference between the two cheapest. The more expensive gives more leg room and from what I have read, at least one beverage. Best part of arriving at Tiete is the metro station is right in the bus station terminal complex. It is an interesting place to see at least once for the massive numbers of people transiting through going from one place to another in Brasil. Think of the masses of travel zombies hubbing in ATL, ORD or DFW.

Went to Meio Mundo last night. I was talking a bit with one of the guys who was there on Monday night, he told me that from about 9PM on, the place was packed until Midnight. Failry late-arriving crows. Also that there were quite a number of garotos from 117 and Pointe. So, good to know for when there are future parties.

Almost all would be thrilled with 500 - 600 weekly plus food, entertainment and incidentals.

117 is 50Reais entry on Tuesday night. Room for 30 minutes is free on Tuesdays other nights are at 25Reais, but then the entry is less except on Tuesday/Friday or Saturday and 120Reais for a boy. Maybe you can get one for 100Reais. + Plus the kit unless you remember to bring your own condoms/lube. Not many Brasilians would be willing to pay more. Just foreign tourists. Balcao/bar is going to be 5/6/7Reais for water, canned juice and H2OOO. Meio Mundo is a bit cheaper. 45Reais entry on Monday and Friday, other nights at 40. Cabines free (plus sheet/lencol and kit) and the rooms at 15,20 and 25 including the kit and sheet. Boys charge less at 50, 60, 70 and no more than 80 with uma gozada/cum.

Driver, Romario was even better than his reputation, I just happen to get into guys who are a little taller, a little lighter, a little younger and a little hairier. But he was really talented. Last Friday the overflow locker area had many more clients than on Monday. Not sure where the problem is in all of this. So I though I'd give 117 a try as I had some shopping to do downtown later in the afternoon. I got there right about 5:20PM. They had a Mr. Bum-Bum contest last night that began about 9PM or so. That should have been a good sign. However, Not so. The place was kind of empty, especially for a Tuesday. Most of the same guys. Nothing really special. 4 or 5 guys(including TomCal's Jefferson and Andre and his friend Goianias) from the previous night at Meio Mundo were there. Just not a ton of either clients or boys. Certainly not a normal Tuesday night. There was an American from Miami who visits here a lot and owns a condo in Copa. We were chatting and he kept on remarking on how ugly and old alot of the guys were or that they were straight trade who couldn't keep a hard-on if their life depended on it. And it was basically true for the majority of the garotos. I had quite the drama first the first time since I first visited in 2003. And I might not have travelled back and forth an incredible number of times. but I do live here and when not with a boyfriend, patronize the 2 saunas. When I declined the chance to go up with him, he then said that he wanted 50Reais for his time and having to kiss me for 1 minute, at the most. I just ignored him and walked to the outside bar to see if anyone interesting was out there. At this point he followed me outside an told me that he was going to go to the manager and get his 50Reais from me, one way or the other. So I went with him to the front counter where he talked to the manager and then went away. Then I went to the manager for an explanation in Portuguese. He said to me not to monopolize the boy's time. I said I know that. I as only with him a maximum 10 minutes in the bar chatting. I know better than that. And one minute at the most of kissing doesn't approximate a programma. He nodded his assent. This was the first time any boy had tried to scam me in this manner. F.Y.I. After this little bit of drama, I talked to a Brasilian friend who is a professional tour guide taking groups to Europe throughout the year. He happened to be there with a couple of tourists. So I asked him what the the current rate was at 117, He told me that the normal Brasilian pays 100. And only 50 at Meio Mundo. Last Friday a different Brasilian told me that he never pays more than 60 at Meio Mundo. So there is a base pay rate for everybody's edification. I stuck around until about 7:15PM to see if things would pick up for the Mr. Bum-Bum contest. No one really new came in that was interesting. The normal traffic jam on the stairs, the entry foyer or at the base of the stairs on the lower level. Even the shower room and saunas were empty. All a bit strange. My only thoughts are that many clients are doing the same as TomCal and arranging dates though Facebook. Ditto for the American from Miami. I have been with him in the past and he now always gets a least one phone number and a Facebook ID. The New Normal.

And can we talk about the set, chairs from Rent-A-Center and diminished florals?

My biggest problem was the lack of jokes that Joan told in the past. I missed that alot. Post-Joan, Kelly, Giuliana and Brad really stepped it up with more biting opinions, but there weren't the three or four bitchy jokes that Joan used to spout. But the ads on the homepage of netgay.com.br does have some of the upcoming events, although not updated often enough. They do have a Facebook page and you could try to message Wagner, the manager or the owners Acyr and Jorge for info. Christmas in Rio, pretty much everything is closed. For sure they will both be open today. As to how busy MM will be today or tomorrow, with businesses being closed in the center, who can say?
