The hotel you mentioned, Hotel Scheuble, seems to be only a short distance from Paragonya. In fact, based on the map, it is less than two short blocks away from Paragonya. When you consider that the once famous and wonderful Carousel Bar of Zurich is now gone forever and that the Paragonya sauna is often filled with loud lady boys and pick pocketing Romanians, why would anyone want to visit Zurich and pay $300 to $400 daily for a hotel that is only equal to about a 3 or 4 star? Furthermore, the hustlers from Paragonya ask three times (at least) the price of hustlers in sauna Thermas in Barcelona. Zurich had its day and that day is gone. There are other places close to Zurich that one can enjoy.

If you notice when you go to Paragonya, there are usually tables with four to six local Swiss clients just sitting around talking and reading and drinking. while ignoring the hustlers. I think that Paragonya, although it is still a sauna, gets a good portion of its revenue from the "regulars" who are Swiss clients who use the sauna as a social club rather than as a place to meet hustlers. Without the "regulars" paying admission and buying drinks and snacks, the sauna could not stay open for long considering the few hustlers who now visit the sauna. Like many things in life, places close and/or go out of business. Who would have thought the nearby famous bar Carousel Bar would have gone out of business? Don't forget, there is no charge to use the so-called rooms in the sauna. Therefore, the number of hustlers does not materially impact revenue. While it is true it is still possible to meet hustlers there, the quantity of good quality hustlers has diminished markedly.

Yes, this was an incredibly great place. Every night after the sauna Pointe 202 got less busy (around 10 o'clock or so in the evening) many of us gringos walked the short distance from Pointe down Siqueira Campos to this semi outdoor restaurant. Almost every night the place was busy and had a countless number of garotos available. Most garotos stood in the street in front of the restaurant or close by on the sidewalk waiting or hoping for a signal from one of us to join them at a table we had. Those were the days that we thought and hoped would never end - but they did!

Many are quite handsome and charming. However, they will turn on you in a heart beat. That, plus the loud lady boys, are why Paragonya is no longer the great sauna it once was. The sauna and bar facilities at Paragonya are excellent and clean. It is some of the people who visit there that make it less desirable.

If you can convince some Prague guys you know to come to Zurich and to Paragonya, you could have a great time. As it is now, Paragonya has changed for the worse unless it improved this year. I have not been there recently. I stopped going there because it was no longer a fun place for me. The facility is wonderful and clean and is located in an excellent area of Zurich. My last few times I was there were dismal. The available escorts were loud lady boys and/or Romanians.
