Ms. Coulter couldn't care less what the likes of Whoopi or Barbara think about her. I doubt she believes her nonsense any more than you do. She's just working the simple folk for her share of their cash. Reminds me of the Pentacostal preachers that have infested my section of the country for so long. The book royalties and speaking fees are her tent poles and collection plates.

At Mitt's urgent request, the regular refs will be back this Sunday, according to informed sources in Romney's entourage. Polling data is showing a drift to Democrats by white working class Midwestern swing state voters appalled at the spectacle of plutocrats mucking up their beloved sporting events. With the exception of Jerry Jones, the billionaires have agreed to refrain from collectively 'rubbing folks nose in it' until after November 6. Jerry is reliably reported to be thoroughly pissed at the political pressure stating that "Anybody that didn't like the way I run my team should just buy their own."

Rudiments of Posting on Invision Power Board
MsGuy replied to TampaYankee's topic in Comments and Suggestions
Apparently TY has no faith in our ability to randomly click on stuff until we find something that works. ==== Propellor heads! Ya gotta have 'em, but personally I'm of the opinion they should sit quietly in the back row until called upon. -
Possibly but, more likely, AS is attempting to give voice to your thought.
-
Just a guess, Expat, but inbreeding, maybe?.
-
Been there, done that. Except for the reel to reel tape player. Never could see the use of that.
-
Well, why didn't you say so in the first place, Hito? Good ole socialist realism, just the thing for what ails us!
-
I'm pretty sure that LBJ didn't resign from his Senate seat when he ran for V-P. I was only about 11 or 12 at the time, so maybe I'm mis-remembering.
-
Hito, I recall Plato as proposing to banish poetry and music from his Utopia because they promoted irrational thought.
-
Why fight it, lookin? The Singularity approaches; you will be assimilated. Resistence is futile! ==== LOL, I just realized that I've been reduced to posting on a tech thread! I must be out of my mind bored tonight.

Alternatively, friends of Dorothy infiltrated the Art Department of the ad agency and connived to slide this copy under the radar of a hopelessly naif brand manager. I am reliably informed that, in the olden days, many straight folks had such a narrow stereotype of homosexuality that they would have been blind to the homoeroticism of these ads. Just red blooded American soldier boys horsing around. Seriously, the ads are clearly aimed at the stay at home ladies of the home front who, one presumes, would not have been adverse to a bit of wholesome male American flesh being presented in their Ladies Home Journal.

The Iowa Electronic Market , an Iowa University Business School sponsered stock market that allows folks to buy & sell 'contracts' on Obama's or Romney's chances, currently (9/18) has Obama trading at $.728 and Romney at $.299. Basically you get paid $1.00/contract if the Dems (or Repubs) wins the popular vote and zip if they lose. Max investment is $500 and a total of $78,766 worth of contracts are currently outstanding. In plain English, people betting their own real life money are willing to pay 73 cents for a dollar's worth of Obama but only 30 cents for a buck's worth of Romney. Historically the IEM's predictive power has beaten the average for the experts and has been better than most polls (until 2 or 3 weeks before the election). Like any other stock market, it operates on a form of crowd wisdom.
-
LOL, I think you got it right the first time, Lucky.
-
Oh my fucking God, if the Dems actually carry the House in November, the Repubs will all be lining up for a circular firing squad.

If you can link it, I can stomach it, lookin. Please note, however, however sneaky and anonymously the API operated, at least it utilized attack ads featuring issues connected to the interests it sought to advance. I foresee, in the not too distant future, corporations will discard this artificial constraint. The ultimate stealth campaign: survey the target's district for random hot wire local issues and fire away from a multitude of false fronts. No way to connect 'Citizens Against the I10 Interchange' to Merc Pharmaceutical but another vote for generic drugs goes down all the same. Come to think about it, that's not all that much different from those 'independant' expenditures echoing Romney's "Times are hard and Obama, bless his heart, aint up to the job." Don't talk about what you'll be wanting from Romney, just take whacks at Obama. ==== Netanyahu delenda est! ===== Maybe I should change that to Citizens United delenda est! At least Netanyahu is out in the open about his goals.

Only thing I disagree with there is the we're seeing it in spades part. It's early days yet for the corporate plutocracy. They're still cautiously feeling out the new avenues that the Citizens United decision opened for them. They're experimenting with the best, most effective way to organize their spending. They're still leery of possible backlash if they're caught stuffing the ballot box with benjamins. They've yet to move decisively to take control of state legislatures (like Long said, you can buy 'em and sell 'em like sacks of potatoes). For instance, it's still a rarety for an industry to set up well funded false fronts and go after individual congresscritters and senators that persist in aggravating them. Wait until (say) the Bituminous Coal Association ponies up $30 million & has a flock of sock puppets take down some enviromentalist congresscritter from Delaware on locally controversial issues like ear-marking, abortion, gay marriage, the location of an interstate interchange, any old thing will do; BCA doesn't have to care one whit about the specific issues or be identified with the sock puppets any any way; they can just use material supplied by high end political consultants to get rid of the guy. How many other c-critters will be terrorised into silence after seeing good ole Joe go down in flames? LOL, the halo effect is a freebie! You and I may never know what the BCA was up to but Joe's surviving buddies in congress will sure as hell know who put the bullet through his skull.. Remember we're talking direct payments from the corporate treasury here; the executives don't even need to use their own money. $30 mil is chump change to a Fortune Five Hundred corporation. It's lost in the rounding off process in the P&L statement. ==== And Netanyahu delenda est!

An update from Brazil-told second hand
MsGuy replied to a topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Excellent report, Lurker. And a big thanks to Tomcal for allowing you to share. -
LOL, I know! You couldn't just pick one up and leaf through it w/o looking like like an old pervert. "Mmmmmm..."
-
Ahahahahaha...I guess Romney means he's standing by what he said but wishes he had found some way to say it w/o getting the peasants in an uproar. PS Yesterday I read that article you linked, IHP. It was the best schadenfreude orgasm I've had in a long time. Was it good for you too? ---- Netanyahu delenda est!
-
Hito, I found this article breaking down that 47%. Somehow it doesn't seem so astounding when you look at what that number actually represents. Personally I'm curious which of those government tits these six taxpayers are sucking: "...according to Internal Revenue Service studies, six of the 400 U.S. tax filers with the highest adjusted gross income (meaning AGI of at least $77 million) paid no U.S. income tax. " And I'm really curious why so much straight porn uses skanky looking models. It's a real puzzlement to me. Do str8 folks really find skank erotic? (AdamSmith, as our resident bi-sexual, we're looking to you to enlighten us. Oh and Netanyahu delende est! (almost forgot)

Thanks for the link, Hito. Food for thought. ====== NETANYAHU DELENDA EST!

The British government is thinking that it doesn't want Harry to resign his commission. Last time around, when they repeatedly refused to ship him to Afganistan when the rest of his classmates were going, the Prince presented his brass (and the government & his Gran) with an ultimatum: Either let him do his duty as a serving officer or they could all participate in the ancient and honorable ceremony of kissing his bare royal ass goodbye. Apparently young Harry does not find parading around in a pretty uniform to be a particularly rewarding career. Recall that his brother also flies real search and rescue chopper missions over the Irish Sea in all kinds of nasty weather, not the safest of jobs. Also recall that the Windsors are running a family business that basically amounts to the longest running and most lucrative con job in the history of the British Isles. That the boys do useful work and have the respect of their mates goes a long way toward compensating for the fecklessness of their father. Right now they've got an heir and a spare. No doubt if one of the brothers goes and gets himself killed, the other will be grounded. Until and unless, there's room to tolerate some risk and reap some rewards in the form of public approval of the monarchy.
-
You might want to reconsider that, Hito. Think of all the free designer shoes you could score.

That's one way, lookin, but I suspect it's still the case that a picture is worth a thousand words.
