Hmm, no way to enter sub-title when creating a new topic now... I knew nothing of the books (other than hearing they existed and were popular) so I went in a blank slate. The vast majority of the audience was much like a Twilight audience, which had me worried. But this is pretty much the anti-Twighlight: it's smart, moving, has a point, and has a strong lead actress (who CAN ACT) and she takes her life by the horns instead of being a pouting victim. Even better, it has a subversive message that is very, very timely at this point in history, especially in light of the 99% vs. the Romneys of the world. Visually it's not nearly as spectacular as John Carter but it is very touching and well done. Highly recommended! Anybody read the books?

I think someone should remind Pope Rick that yes, a previous AG {and fundamentalist Christian loon and mind bendingly awful singer} under George W. Bush did, in fact, decide to wage a War on Porn™ as Pope Rick points out. And that man was John Ashcroft. Who, you all may or may not recall {clearly Pope Rick does not recall}, got a request from the FBI early in the Bush administration for additional counter-terrorism funding. Ashcroft not only refused the request for the funding, but in order to fund his War on Porn™ that Pope Rick apparently wants to emulate in his administration, Ashcroft instead actually cut $58 million from the Fibbies budget. And what was the date that Ashcroft ordered that $58 million counter-terrorism budget cut? September 10, 2001. And we all know how choosing the War on Porn™ as a priority for an administration to focus on over counter-terrorism worked out for all of us. Scott manages to put into words exactly what I'm thinking, as usual.

I've read several article on autonomous vehicles, I'd love it but think it's a long way off, even though I enjoy driving. Would LOVE to have all the current bells and whistles though, I'd even like some of them to be gov't mandated: Cool think about blind-spot warning is it can also remind people to FUCKING SIGNAL. Love the idea of closing distance alerts and full-authority braking, paired with full authority cruise control is a plus (as they're usually paired anyway).
