I'm never doing business with anybody who contacts me unsolicited, period. When a company or charity I do business with contacts me I tell them they're risking my business if they contact me again. If it's a bank/brokerage I also say I'm never taking financial advice from anybody not legally a fiduciary to me. The other day I was listening to a story about the current downturn in solar energy and the biggest emphasis was on all the shady companies that made unbounded promises to the people they tricked into signing up by cold-calling or pestering in front of supermarkets and I just couldn't help but think that if you've gotten to the point in your life of being a homeowner and still believe people who call, mail or approach you out of the blue... well... sorry you were just too stupid to have wealth!

If you're looking for something to do this weekend and still have the option, seeing Godzilla minus 1 IN A THEATER is probably WORTH IT! If you're bored out of your mind but too lazy to leave the house... Zach Snyder's Star Wars (and Seven Samurai and 5 other better movies), Rebel Moon... is visually interesting. Basically combine the disappointments of Valerian, Jupiter Ascending, and John Carter of Mars, though better than maybe all three of those movies. But for fuck's sake stop letting Zach have any input into writing or the story!

I saw both Oppenheimer and Killers of the Flower Moon in a theater without any issue. And for both there was something to be said for the experience of seeing it in a theater exactly as intended. Unfortunately there are fewer and fewer people who can go any length of time without checking their cell phone (or apparently having to potty though that wouldn't annoy me that much--sit towards the aisle if you have issues...) so I'm not sure it's going to last especially for auteur movies like these (Oppy's success was probably a fluke).

I'd thought I heard they were getting into the Ozympic rush. Oh, that was Weight Watchers. Imagine something effective and lasting in weight loss for the first time! Glad of it. Occasional voters come out to oppose not to affirm. We were told 2022 would be a red wave as the most recent concrete example of polls being bs. I'll take this 1000% over "Biden's got this in a walk!" alternative. Poll companies make money by selling poll results and 24 hour news makes money by SCARING PEOPLE... match made in... what's a "journalism"? Further, who the fuck answers a political poll? "Likely voters" my ass. "Geriatrics happy to have anybody to talk to" more likely. And then there's...
