The new Mac Pro info is very interesting. Fascinating design, though something of a fuck you to many current users who currently use expansion cards to do different things. Everything'll now have to be external with a Thunderbolt connection, can't even put in a couple large hard drives... A bit of a cross between the wildly unsuccessful iMac Cube and a suppository...

Something changed for me too, but doesn't sound very similar to your experiences. For a long time "remember login" was worthless, and I complained about it several times. Then it was fixed and had been working for the last several months or so. Site knew who I was, didn't have to log in, was happy. A couple days ago that stopped, even though I check "remember me" the site doesn't if I close out and come back. I haven't noticed getting logged out during an active session though.

Like the airlock idea, but a wormhole... imagine if he's humanity's first contact with an alien race? They'd burn this planet to a cinder!

I'm with you, I maybe peruse those types of threads once out of morbid curiosity and then I avoid them, but they go *on and on and on*, reaching a dozen or more pages and always at the top, eventually they become a source of annoyance even when skipping over.

Finding a scanner with an adapter for 110 film may be difficult. Doing it manually will be tedious. Maybe look at Costco? I know they have a film scanning service. At least for the 35, or maybe if you have a good-sized photographic store still in business around you...

Well, our no-balls Democratic congressmen seem to have laid down on the issue in the immigration reform bill.

I'm not a fan of the office or institution, but this seems to be the best, most progressive man in the chair in my lifetime, at least since John Paul ONE. Hopefully this one doesn't suffer the same fate!

I like to see good looking feet but don't a give a shit about shoes, unless they're flip-flops, for obvious reasons.

My county is Los Angeles but city name may as well be a game of roulette. It doesn't actually matter out here unless you're in one of the few cities that succeeded like Burbank or Glendale. Everything else is just a post office name or something made up by a real estate developer. I prefer one name (adds slightly to home values), mostly it gets changed to a second name, and half the official stuff I get has a third name, simply Los Angeles.

Can't I have all 4? If not, I'll take #3.

Figured this was a soccer player but is a model. Damn sexy though.

Only new show I know of that I'm really looking forward to is Agents of Shield. I'll probably give Dracula a try too. Can't believe BONES is still on the air!

It looks like Ronaldo has considered playing for our team...

I really enjoyed this one too, more than the first JJ Abrams Star Trek. It's damn good. And lurker forgot to mention Benedict Cumberbatch as additional eye candy.

Agreed, they already put it in the Friday evening death slot. Which sucks because it looks good!

Twitter Hate Speech Map Pinpoints Racist, Homophobic Hotspots

Looks like it really needs to be corrected for population density... -
Yeah, I can't remember any in the books (or Mormon batshitery) either, and agree they're quite good. I just refuse to financially support Card ever again. I'm sure I'll see the movie, but I'll do my best to have paid for a different movie when I do.

Gravity trailer really made me think of Solaris right away (only saw the remake) which also had Clooney. Really didn't interest me much. Hopefully it's better, but the trailer just looks like a lot of drawn out boring angst.

Careful there, they went quite young with the cast, Asa Butterfield just hit 16. He was also the boy in Hugo. It was a great book, but it's 20 years old so a lot of things in it you will have seen before and the crux of the book is probably spoiled for just about everybody. Unfortunately the author is a raging Mormon homophobe. After he started writing opinion pieces on the topic I got rid of all his books. Which sucks because the original Ender's series is quite good, and I like the first of the Shadow series too.

I used MS phones for years back when they were the original smartphones. So customizable and open. In ways that even Android surprisingly isn't. But then MS decided that the way to compete was to out simple the iPhone and changed 180 degrees. Haven't had much interest since. Android now, not thrilled with it, maybe the next one will be better.

It was a cargo plane, so luckily not many souls aboard. It had large pallets of cargo, during takeoff they broke free and rolled to the back of the plane, throwing the center of gravity way off, uncorrectably bringing the nose up and causing the stall. The pilots still managed to get it pretty level, but didn't quite have enough altitude and with a 747 full of fuel the fireball was almost inevitable. Every job at an airport can be important, this isn't the first heavy brought down by incompetent ramp work.

Did several posts and opened a bunch of threads as new pages, haven't noticed any lag yet. Yay!

Wow, not a single one in Los Angeles? A lot of famous chefs put a fuck-ton of money into various Vegas restaurants and aren't listed either.
