Read through the live blog and just finished watching. Was surprised Hugo go so many 'incidental' Oscars, Artist got the big ones of course. I thought Crystal did a pretty good job, certainly seemed a bit better than years past, even when they were hosted by people I'd *thought* would be great... Loved the jokes about the formerly Kodak theater. Didn't think much of the Cirque number but the audience gave it a standing ovation... had to be there? Still want to see Iris--and that gorgeous theater in person! Was it just me or DID THE SOUND FOR THE TELECAST FUCKING SUCK OR WHAT? Mixing was for crap with music often as loud or louder than the narration, but even worse was starting about 1/3rd of the way in (all the way through the end) there was this horrible buzzing sound towards the high end of the spectrum... sounded like there were people with vuvuzelas in the audience for christsake! All in all the 3 movies I actually saw won almost all the awards, (though I'd thought Hugo was fairly forgettable...). Didn't hear any mention of Bully and the MPAA fuckery, damn it.

Yep, I'm starting to get a real appreciation for YouTube. It's great for satire, but it's also a real paradigm shifter for amateurs distributing video to the masses, something never before available.

Love the idea of the Razzies, but they keep repeating the exact same movies over and over, nothing particularly amusing or clever about these nominations... They're beating a dead Sarah Jessica Parker.

Yeah, except it was the red carpet for a *kids movie* he *starred in*... Otherwise I'd agree. But maybe he's telling the producers to fuck off, that he'll be a liability if they make him go nuts promoting it. So I'd guess just a random mishap, but anywhere else it'd scream "I wanna be a real actor now, not a kid hearthrob". I'm starting to be very annoyed by "The Lorax", it's not one of the Seuss stories I remember from my childhood, but it sounds like they took an anti-corporate pro-environment screed and turned into a crappy rom-com used to hawk products including fucking SUVs. That's Universal for you, they are fucking nuts for product placement (as any watching of their TV shows will tell you!) and other bs with no concern whatsoever for the integrity or quality of the product... Surprising and disappointing that the Seuss estate went along, I understand they were very controlling of the first couple movies... then they got hooked on the cash, sounds like.

Yeah, this needs to blow up. I'm really hoping some people go after them at the Oscars, if not or ineffective I'll be following any protest or other actions closely!
