  1. I stayed at the Ipanema Plaza when I was accompanied by a blond, muscled Argentine who was 20 years younger than me. We were treated in a friendly fashion there. Late one afternoon, on coming back from the beach together, we did see a man stopped by security before the elevators. He was with a rather luridly and scantily dressed female. He was asked to register his 'guest' at reception before proceeding. Having spent a lot of time travelling in Latin America, I appreciate the security of having strangers registered, and their identity checked, by the hotel before they go to a room. I have heard of various violent incidents where guests managed to evade security and were then robbed by their newly-met companions.
  2. About 3 years ago, I met a young Spaniard who had worked there for one Summer. He'd come to London to improve his English and to study dance. He was 21, dark good looks with a fit, muscled body. He was a good bottom, a decent cocksucker and had a submissive streak. I mention all this to put in context his remarks to me. He said he was very successful at VG. He simply turned up one evening just as they were about to open and told the manager he'd like to work there. The manager gave him an appointment for the following day. In the interview, there was no 'casting couch' but he was asked about what he was willing to do in bed...and also asked if there were things he did not do. He started work there that evening. He told me that the management was very honest: clients often left tips for him with the manager and he was paid them in full. He also said that clients asked for repeat-sessions and also asked for his number to date him outside VG. He preferred to work only at VG as he did not want the hassle of organising dates and visiting clients in their homes, even for the higher fees offered. As you may suspect, Evan24, he defined the key elements for success as being punctual for the required shifts and being able to service various clients as required. FWIW what he told me almost exactly echoed what Enzo, a young Brazilian/Italian, told me about VG 6 years before. (Enzo was a strikingly handsome 22 year old with a beautiful physique. He was sexually versatile and I had an affair with him for a year, after he left VG. He had worked there for 6 months to finance getting himself established in London). As to your last question, the law is complex but its enforcement is relaxed. Street-work is punished, and is extremely rare in London. Public sex acts are also punished. The police do not bother with guys advertising online and meeting men for sex privately.
  3. I know we are all aware to some extent of the incompetence, corruption and mismanagement of resources in Brazil. This article, however, on Rio's decaying legacy of 2016 is a shocking summary. (The Daily Mail is a UK newspaper with a hugely popular news website) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4803642/Dashed-hopes-Rio-2016-s-lasting-legacy.html
  4. I'd encourage you to post your travel reports Likeohmygod. I enjoy reading about the travel and experiences of Tomcal and others, and the reports are often very helpful. The internet is like life. You can't let rude or irritating people dictate the conversation. When they upset you, just ignore them. Remember there are plenty of other people here who value the different inputs.
  5. I agree with Numerito. I also just use the Classic version. I also sympathise with Tassojunior: I've never understood why escorts change their 'stage-names' but the guys in Prague do have this in common with the working guys in Buenos Aires.
  6. Your actions, bobbalino, seem very sensible to me. Anyone who is genuinely in need of help for a true emergency would happily comply with your stipulations.
  7. Very interesting thread, Tassojunior. Did you realise that Damien Freyman is using a false profile pic? He happens to have used the photo of an Australian fitness/swimwear model I know, Ryan Greasley.
  8. I asked the question here because having checked Google, the answer is rather complicated. I wonder whether and how guys visiting Peru regularly check the ages of young men, as stated online against their official ID. It seems the age of consent in Peru for males is 14. Criminal charges may, however, be brought against an adult who uses "deceit, abuse of power, or the vulnerability of a teenager" to have sex with someone under the age of 18. Sex tourism is well-known in Peru and I'm sure no-one here would condone pedophilia. When I travelled in Argentina, I was surprised at how often tall, well-built young men came onto me. Yet it was only after insisting on seeing their official ID that I learned that several young men were under the age of consent there.
  9. What is the age of consent in Peru for male/male sexual relations?
  10. I find that Greeks in the tourist trade, in all its aspects, are very good in assessing just how exorbitantly they can charge foreign visitors.
  11. Interesting plans. I've yet to visit Mexico but I'd be glad to learn more about Mexico from your experiences as you report them here. I too appreciate sunshine and a warmer climate by frequent travel out of the Northern hemisphere during the winter months.
  12. FWIW I find Netflix gives more hours of entertainment than I can actually watch
  13. Just to ad to the transport info on Barcelona... There is a cheap and fast 'Aerobus' service from the airport. It stops at Plaza Espana (the large square to which Thermas and the hotels mentioned above are close). It too costs less than $5. Within the city, the Metro/subway is cheap, fast and air-conditioned. The ticket-machines take credit-cards. If you plan to use it often, buy a T-10 ticket which gives you 10 trips within the city for less than $1 each. The T-10 can be used by more than 1 person; it just has to be validated each time.
  14. I'm not sure what response you expect. Most guys would say "it depends on the individual". I imagine it works the same way as in the US or anywhere else for that matter. 17 years ago, I once took home a hotgogo boy who was dancing on a New York bar. I smiled at him, was very polite, and admired his physique. When he crouched down to speak to me, I stroked/felt his body as I put 2x $20 bills in his socks and I asked if he would have a discreet date later at my hotel. He smiled and said Yes but he couldn't leave for an hour. I waited for him and we took a taxi back together. So my view is that it depends on you showing some interest in the young man, being charming and nice, and being very polite. It can only help you in the negotiation if you say you're happy to be discreet, tip well in the club and are generous in what you offer the gogo boy.
  15. Thanks for posting the link. It's astounding how horny heterosexuals get themselves into such trouble ;-)
  16. There is a lot in your post that I agree with
  17. The link worked for me (after deleting the '3'). There are plenty of photos...of torsos but understandably no faces are shown.
  18. Thank you, demedici, for the explanation. I've certainly noted how many younger men in Latin America appreciate older men.
  19. Apologies if I'm being dense but what do you mean by "Coroa lovers"?
  20. To answer your questions in the order you put them: 1. No. Thermas is the only sauna with working guys. There are several other gay saunas where non-working guys meet and play, including Sauna Casanova. 2. The "gay area" covers several blocks in The Eixample Left (or west of the Paeso de Gracia). Use Google Maps and locate the Axel Hotel on Aribau and Consell de Cent; then look up various gay businesses and you'll see that there is a definite cluster of bars and cafes etc 3. Yes. But young guys also use the apps. 4. See answer 2 above.
  21. Just one note of caution: I know a middle-aged Londoner who returned from a holiday in Brazil with a cute young twink of 23. The Londoner isn't rich but has a steady income. The young twink came from an ordinary background but there was little disposable income. After 18 months of living together, and a steady diet of sugary drinks and a much richer diet, the twink has ballooned in size and weight. The Londoner is no longer enamoured of him but can't get rid of him.
  22. I understood what Bobbalino wrote. But beauty is a very subjective matter. What one man finds cute, another may find homely. And what another man finds handsome, I may consider to be ordinary. It's why I never hire a guy without seeing a recent face pic. In the past, I have met 2 well-reviewed escorts who have plain ordinary looks, in my opinion - it did explain why neither escort ever published their face photo.
  23. Very good body. Wonder if his face is handsome?
  24. With respect, Bobbalino, wouldn't this thread be better posted in the forum "Latin America Men and Destinations"? You might get some helpful advice there from others who use Uber in Brazil etc
  25. I agree with ferrar and, respectfully, I disagree with Darkseraphim. After reading M2Sexy's reports of his adventures, I was astonished that he would even consider leaving a secure hotel and moving to an apartment. I'm glad that M2Sexy escaped unharmed from the violent escort but he shouldn't forget so readily how lucky he was to do so. I've travelled extensively in Latin America and I prefer to stay in very good, highly secure hotels. I've travelled with male companions and registered them as guests, as well as had other young men 21+ visit me in my room. I'm openly gay but I behave discreetly in public. As ferrar has stated, no reputable hotel in Brazil or, in my experience, Argentina would allow flagrant behaviour by gay male or heterosexual guests. I feel the hotel manager was being quite reasonable. The fee suggested is very little. Personally, I hope that M2Sexy rewarded the security people, the reception staff and the hotel manager with cash tips of at least 50,000COP (as it's equivalent to only US $17 each)
