Perhaps Rodolfo could solve the problem of overcrowding by simply restricting entry to two groups: fit-bodied garotos aged 18+ and only foreign clients aged 55+. It seems an easier solution to me ;-)

I hope others can help you @adamdub I was in Maui on vacation a few years ago. I thought it was a very beautiful place where you can access the wilderness easily and there are some terrific hikes. I strongly suggest that if you will be looking for company, you should take a companion with you. There are some nice beaches but we didn’t find any “bars or hotspots”, but to be fair we weren’t looking for such. We did stumble on a very nice gay-friendly place off the Hana highway, and the locals we met and talked to had a ‘live and let live’ attitude. That said, I doubt that a gay singleton would have a wild social time unless you happen to encounter another gay singleton on vacation.

Nice cathedral. Very good restaurants. For other pleasures, you may have to travel. Düsseldorf is only 23 minutes away by express train, and it has CityBoys which terms itself a “House of Boys”.

Bogota Trip Journal 6-15 Nov

I don’t know about Colombia but I do know that in Spain, ‘morbo’ is used to refer to kinky sex. Of course, exactly what is kinky has to be defined. -
London and Zurich may be equally popular.

Hello BB aka @pd1jap I can’t help with current guys, but I do know Buenos Aires well from having spent a year there. Assuming you can speak Spanish well, it’s easy to meet guys (working and non-working). Argentines do set great store on being in-shape (tho this may be less important to a rentboy) and being well-dressed in public. You can see a selection of working guys on various sites (eg soytuyo) but be aware the photos may be old. There are numerous ‘telos’, hotels with decent facilities that rent rooms by the hour, in Recoleta. There is a lot of info on Argentina in various threads on this site. Please be aware of the high level of street crime and robbery, and be savvy about carrying/wearing valuables and using public transport. You state you will be ‘staying in Palermo’ but you will need to be much more specific in making arrangements. There are several neighbourhoods named Palermo. There is Palermo Chico, which is a district of rich families generally. And there are Palermo Soho and Palermo Hollywood which are middle-class areas (some fancy parts and some newly-gentrified) with various restaurants and many boutiques.

Much shorter walk from Metro to new Lagoa

No offence @NoGagSuckerSF but why include this in a thread about the relocation of Lagoa? You’re likely to get more responses if you put your enquiry in a separate thread. -
Threesomes ruining relationships????
msclelovr replied to BlkSuperman's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Interesting thread @BlkSuperman I really enjoyed 3somes and 4gies when single. I favour every couple openly discussing their sexual needs and desires. If something works for that couple, so be it. The opinions of others are simply irrelevant. But in a relationship, I’m monogamous - OK I’m a serial monogamist. It suits my partner and me. -
It’s fair - and I’d guess, usual - to ask about bottom/top/versatile. The rest seems inappropriate to me @Kieran. You would ordinarily ask about these matters in private with the guy you’ve chosen. No manager can know exactly what each guy will do or not do in private. My ‘take’ on your report is that perhaps the manager thought you were a guy who just wanted to talk about sex, look at the guys and then possibly not hire, ie a time-waster. It would explain the unusual request for money upfront. I’m glad the money was readily returned to you before you left.

Hallelujah! True and I so agree @SolaceSoul There seems to be a surprising number of young men who value and want a mature companion.
-
Very true @SolaceSoul Perhaps I should have said “claim to be 25-35”. I have known personally 2 such men aged 42/45 yet claiming to be a decade younger. They worked relentlessly to maintain superb physiques. Each man had mental health issues as they aged and, unlike Cher, they could not “turn back time”.
-
You describe it well @Riobard but then I have always thought that Circuit parties are for fit, muscled guys in the 25-35 age range to meet each other. Mykonos has always attracted that crowd and being much older, I wasn’t bothered. Interestingly enough I met there some good looking younger men (21-30) who were very dismissive of the gay steroidal overbuilt crowd (their terms).
-
I’m glad you had a great time @Badboy81 I’d just add to your comment on the prices on the island that it is VERY expensive, more costly than even in prime spots in the South of France. I agree that the island is extremely gay-friendly, but it’s no longer primarily a gay resort. It is nowadays just as popular with a straight crowd, so a lot of the male eye-candy is heterosexual. I only went once and that was with an attractive younger companion; my impression was that the buff men were interested in other buff men; and there were very few working guys - I chatted to one (a fit young Brazilian) who was there as a vacation-rental by an older man.

Argentina and Rio de Janeiro July 2019
msclelovr replied to Latbear4blk's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
I remember Rodi Bar from years ago. I was taken there by an older local; it was cheap but not the greatest food (by foreign standards). I was told then that it was so popular with old regulars that you had to reserve or be prepared to eat dinner early. Thank you for your reports @Latbear4blk May I also ask what time are locals generally eating lunch and dinner in the week? When I was last there, I used to go for lunch at 1.30pm and dinner at 9.30pm (and 10.30pm or later at the weekend) but I noticed (and waiters confirmed) that locals were eating dinner earlier due to the increased “insecurity”, as crime was referred to, late at night. -
Interesting thread @RockHardNYC. I knew nothing of this and having some idle moments, I followed the link and read your comments. When I read of very minor celebrities like these 3 squabbling and feuding, I always wonder why they bother. Have they not learned that the rest of the world has no interest in what they say and think? As it relates to President Trump, it seems to me, as a foreigner, that he simply thrives on the attention and controversy. I confess that it may be evil of me but I enjoyed your description of Cohen - “I never liked Andy Cohen because he's a cheap gay man. Self-centered, too. I view him as money-sucking TV scum.” So much so that I was tempted to ask you to say what you really think of him!

Yes. Many guys advertise there. It certainly helps to speak Spanish in making arrangements.

I’d very much like to hear your views on Km Zero after your visit Friday night, @Latbear4blk Km Zero is a famous and long-established bar/club. I never visited as I was told some years back that it’s in a difficult location and the crowd is highly variable. I’ll be very interested to learn about the current mix of people who go there. -

Circuit Festival Barcelona...WHICH SAUNA???
msclelovr replied to Badboy81's topic in European Men and Destinations
Of the friends and others I know (aged 21-50) in Barcelona, almost no-one visits the saunas. I’ve heard of a couple of saunas being places where young bottoms go to meet older bears. But if you’re here during the Circuit Festival, I think you’ll find it difficult to find a venue where there is NO sex taking place - even the daytime party at the water park is famed for the amount of sex occurring in the open. -
Buenos Aires - any updates?
msclelovr replied to geodesic's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
IME Yes, there are many such twinks. There is great inequality in incomes and wealth in Argentina. Alongside the economic difficulties of recent years, with severe currency weakness, there has been rampant inflation. (I see the current rate of consumer price inflation of 57% annually is expected to fall to 37% by year-end). The result of all this economic upheaval is that many are not particularly well-fed, so many young men are slender or thin and not particularly tall. Inevitably in Buenos Aires I found that I stood out as tall despite only being 6ft in height. I always enjoyed dating handsome young men who had fit, nicely muscled bodies; almost all of them came from families in the ‘high bourgeoisie’ (as it’s termed in Argentina). -
Just one note of caution before you go: make sure you have been properly vaccinated against measles. There is a massive outbreak in the Ukraine, with more than 100,000 cases reported since 2017. Measles is highly contagious and (although rare, at more than 1 in 1000) it can lead to fatal complications. 39 deaths have been recorded so far since the outbreak began in 2017.
-
I agree with @SolaceSoul I would just add that here (as in other houses in Buenos Aires for example) if you should accept the offer of a drink while viewing, it’s considered appropriate to give the manager a small gratuity.

Buenos Aires - any updates?
msclelovr replied to geodesic's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
I’ve spent a lot of time (in all, more than a year) visiting Argentina but I’ve not been recently. So it will be very helpful @geodesic if you will report back fully on your experiences in Buenos Aires. I’d especially like to hear about the levels of crime (or “insecurity” as locals term it). It’s very difficult to learn about the dangers except from locals, and such crimes don’t warrant Press reports. IMO caution is very advisable. I never had anything happen to me during my extensive visits, but I was aware of robberies at knifepoint in the daytime even in the very best areas of the city. Women were more often targets for bag and phone snatching. If you do have good Spanish, the locals on the local escort forum can be very helpful. The drawbacks to that forum are that quite a lot of slang is used in the reports. Also, peculiar to Argentina, is the fact that many escorts change their working name (I have never understood why): there is for instance one muscleguy who is notorious for robbing clients once alone in a ‘telo’ or hotel-by-the-hour. -
@TotallyOz that reminded me of an incident some years ago. I was at Spanish-language school in Barcelona and mid-morning a handsome young American was talking to me over coffee. We knew each other to be gay, and he related how he’d been to Thermas the night before. He was outraged to discover that it was a rentboy sauna, since he’d told Thermas Reception that he was gay and wanted to know if it was a good place for him to meet a Spanish equivalent. He told me it was only “older guys” who wanted him to pay for sex! (I was amused as I was about 25 years older than him) He was so angry at being misled that he demanded, and obtained, a full refund of his entry fee.
