I'm a big fan of BH. The sauna is big, lots of great guys and some of my most memorable sessions in brasil were in olimpo. I tried one other sauna many years ago but didn't like it and felt no need to return. In terms of things to do, I tended to go out of the city when I could. There are a few landmarks in the city proper but my favorite day trips were to ouro preto, tiradentes, inhotim (a strange modern park dotted throughout with art installations and sculptures). There are also a lot of cachaceras to visit in the area. Do a trip advisor search and you'll find what's hot now. It helps to have a car and driver, or at least a car and gps. Yeah - this is generous to put it mildly. this is the equivalent of a GP doing about 10 programas a night - plus the travel, meals, etc. I think a little something in their pocket for souvenirs is reasonable, but really. My point is - one time is NOTHING in terms of getting to know what you are getting into and to take this risk in a third country means he's lost all control. As tomcal said, it is his money, but it could have been better spent.

In my current trip to Sao Paulo, I have spent many hours in Lagoa but wanted something different. If you are curious about Lagoa, it has been very busy the nights I was there, especially Saturday night. At least 60 guys. Anyway, I wanted an actual massage with a little sensuality thrown in. I went to inhouse agencia and had a mixed experience. Their web site (easy to Google) offers pics of many of the guys at the shop. I had a great massage from Breno, a straight Chilean with a deep voice and charming accent in Portuguese and English. I am not sure how far it could have gone, but I asked up front and got exactly what I wanted, and was very happy. That is important...ask upfront. Not all the guys go the full mile. If you want proper action though, I would suggest sticking to the sauna. I got a far less enjoyable massage from Guilherme, a gorgeous young man with a stunning body. Unfortunately he was distant and did nothing special or particularly good in the massage. I had paid for a two massage package, glad I did otherwise I might not have had the great time with Breno. They offer other services like waxing and pedicures, but the scheduling was confused on their side and in the end I did not get what I scheduled a week prior. All in all, not an ideal experience but at least one very good massage.

I was at Lagoa a couple of times this week and last, as often as I could between other commitments. Some low and highlights: Emerson - he is an older black gentleman, well, older for the trade, probably in his mid thirties. he is bald, hairy and very muscular. I remembered him from a few years ago as a particularly good experience and was at first happy to see him again. it only goes to prove that your best bet is to enjoy the moment and whatever happens to be in season on the days you visit Brazil. I too was hoping to meet the famous surfer this trip to Brazil but with only a couple days left, he has not surfaced. That said, there has been lots of other great fun. I did not take pictures but will report later tonight in a separate thread.
