OK time to catch up on what I have been doing since I recovered from Montezuma's Revenge.
I took a ride out to Jomtien Beach which is about 2Km. from where I am staying on Pattaya Beach . This is a 6km stretch of beach that is much wider then some photos I posted earlier in this thread. Part of this 6km stretch has a predominately Gay Area and many visitors love to rent a chair and spend the day looking at boys etc. You can get a massage in your chair or move to a blanket for a full massage(no happy ending) most of the time. You can get a manicure and a pedicure and order food and drinks while you pass the time. There will be vendors trying to sell you anything you can imagine from watches, perfume, x rated dvd's and regular dvd's . Depending on the day and the time of year hopefully there will be some boys who would love to have you buy them a beer and then go to your Hotel Up to You but be careful of you valuables if you decide to take one of these boys to your room. You can get there from Central Pattaya on baht buses I mentioned earlier for 20 baht (65cents USA) or on motorbike taxi for 80 -100 baht.
The photos at the bottom of the beach were taken at the end of the day when most people had left and the chairs were being gathered up.
When you leave the beach there is sort of a Village of bars, massage parlors , restaurants etc all of which cater to the Gay Customer. No GoGo Bars are allowed in Jomtien but Beer Bars with boys and massage parlors are ok. There are also some very good restaurants of any type you can imagine and the prices are usually quite reasonable.
Later in the day I returned to my Condo and visited BoysTown as mentioned earlier and I have included some photos of the area . There is also a photo of Orleans Restaurant which has a New Orleans vibe and excellent ribs (yumm) There are many more bars then then the few I have mentioned and you never know what Diamonds in the rough could await you . Sometimes you just go into a Bar with only 6 dancers and you see Mr Wonderful there . When you have been as many times as I have, you have your favorites but if you were a first time visitor then stop in at many.
I have included photos of most of the boys I have seen in the last 8 days since recovering from my sickness. All of the photos are boys who advertise on Gay Romeo and have many photos on the site and in all but one case they all work in GoGo Bars also.
In Pattaya all you have to do is smile at a boy in the Mall or a restaurant and there is a good chance he will end up in your bed. Naturally he most likely will require a small gift for that visit but not always. Sometimes they are just Horny to have Sex with a Non Thai.
Amazing Thailand!!. If you have never been , you have to visit someday. You will find nice Hotels and restaurants at a fraction of the cost in Europe, USA, Brazil etc. and the money for the boys is as small an amount of most places in the world.
Yes for many of you it will be a long plane ride but I guarantee when you are on the plane going home , all you will be thinking about is how soon you can return!!

I have finished up my time in Brazil. I had a great time but thought I'd do a little (hopefully) summary of my time there.
I am so glad I found the Holiday Inn Express in Sao Paulo. It was a great hotel and I loved the area. I always felt very safe and the area had tons of restaurants. For saunas, I had fun at both Fragata and Lagoa. Both had great guys and were busy on most nights. Some of you may remember me posting years ago about a place in the outskirts of Sao Paulo called Alterosas. It closed a few years back. However, one client in Lagoa told me it was supposed to reopen. I hope that happens. I didn't have a great deal to say about the discos and night clubs in Sao Paulo but some of my past posts have talked about these things. There is no place on earth better for discos and nightlife than Sao Paulo. I have never seen any other place that can compete. The boys in Sao Paulo work hard in the day and play even harder at night. There are also so many things to see and do around the city and IMHO, Sao Paulo has some of the most amazing restaurants on earth. It is just one fucking amazing city!
In Fortaleza, I don't think I would stay at the Holiday Inn again. It was outdated and old and just not my cup of tea. However, there are some great saunas there and the boys on the beach are beautiful and approachable. My regret is not spending more time here. I wish I had stayed for a week as I think I would have really enjoyed the city and the boys. But, I was sick for the time in this city and I could not wait to get out of there at the end as I thought getting to another city might make me feel better. It didn't. LOL
In Salvadore, I am very glad I stayed at the Mercure Rio on the beach. It was very inexpensive at about 240R per night or 120USD. The area was also full of great restaurants and I'll be staying at the same hotel in the future. However, I've decided I'll take up IHPGUY's suggestions to me to spend more time in Pria de Forte and that area. I really loved the area. It was full of middle class Brazilians who have holiday / weekend homes there. There were tons of hotels, etc in the area. When I was in Rio, I met the manager of the JW Marriott and she was telling me about the area as her husband is from there. She said that the area was once nothing there. The owner of the Mecure Hotels decided to build a hotel there and then everything else came around. She said that many say it has a very Asian feel to it as he is Asian and perhaps that is why I liked it so much. For my next trip to Salvador, I'll take a boy with me who loves the beaches and surfing and just chill with him for a week.
In Rio, the JW Marriott in Copacabana was a great location. It was easy to get to all the saunas but it was in walking distance (long walk) of Point 202. I have said on my past 20 times to Rio that Club 117 was the best. Well, I hate to admit it but I think Meio Mundo is better. At least when it comes to the boys and the attitude of everyone. My only issue with Meio Mundo is that the rooms do not have showers inside them and they only have communal showers. Monday is the best for Meio Mundo and Tuesday is the best for Club 117. I was in Point 202 3 times and I honestly can't tell you which night is best there as it was pretty barren of clients and boys each time I went. That being said, tomcal picked up one guy from there that I have to say is one of the hottest guys I have seen. So, perhaps it is still best to just test them all.
My favorite restaurant in Rio is still Porcao Ipanema. I love this place but the price is not cheap. But, if you are looking for true Brazilian meats, this place is amazing. I went there 3 times on this trip and loved it. I also eat several times at a place called Sierra Campos Grill. IHPGUY had suggested it one day when tom and I met him for lunch and I loved the place. Since it was only 4 minutes walk from my hotel, I went there for lunch several times and dinner one night. The cost depends on who much food you eat at it is a por kilo place where they weight your food. Just be sure not to loose your ticket as they will not let you out without paying.
As I have said, I have been to Brazil about 20 times over the years and I love several cities for different reasons. For me, IMHO Rio is one of the most breathtaking cities on earth! You just can't be anything but amazed at how beautiful the landscape is with the mountains, rock formations and oceans all together. The beaches are world class and the city has so many architectural marvels that you can't see everything in a few days. I wish I had more time to spend with IHPGuy on this trip as he is a wealth of information on Rio and gives an amazing tour. He was very kind to show me around the city one day and I really enjoyed it.
I have been to Brazil many times on my own but I love it best when I have friends with me. One my first trip to Brazil. my friend Hooboy met me. He showed me around Sao Paulo and got me to fall in love with the Intercontinental Hotel group. I was with my boyfriend from NYC at the time and Hooboy treated us both to a great time. I could not keep up with Hooboy but the BF did. They were perfect together as Hooboy loved late night discos and parties. I am more of a morning person so as my wind was dying out at night, Hooboy and the boyfriend were just getting ready to liven things up. It was also on this first trip that I met Alex. Alex was my first Brazilian love. He did one three way after another with me and the BF and he stayed with us every night. He then went with us to Rio and spent the entire trip with us. The sex was fantastic and he knew me really well. I am not a late night person like he and the BF was but I like to be included in things. So, they wanted to go out at night EVERY night and Alex would bring to my hotel a different surfer boy each night. One boy named Fabio I remember so well as Alex said, "if you smoke weed with him, he will fuck all night long." I laughed as Alex and the BF went out to the clubs and I was left in the room with a stranger surfer boy. Once he lit up, we were on the balcony of the Intercontinental Hotel, he started sucking me off. I felt a bit exposed as there was an apartment complex across the way that could see us but it was so hot, I just let it continue. He just kept sucking until I came and he swallowed very drop. It was fabulous. But, that was just the start of our night. The more he smoked, the hornier he got and I don't think I have fucked in so many positions in all my life. When Alex and the BF got back, we were still have sex and they joined in. I think my dick was raw from so much friction but it was one of the best nights I have ever had. LOL I did see Fabio about 10 times over the years but he was never as good as that night.
I ended up taking the Brazilian Alex to Paris with me for 2 weeks and we did all of France. My favorite night with him was in the Moulin Rouge Theater. He loved it and we took a great photos that we gave to his family. Years later, I saw him in Barcelona. He never left the EU and just stayed there.
Brazil brings us so many great memories of the boys I have met there. As most of them don't speak a word of English I was always at a loss so I had the concierge at my hotel interpret for me most of the time. I know it must have been weird for them to translate for a big American and a Brazilian hooker but they did it anyway. One year, I took 8 boys to Carnival parade and it really did make for one of the best nights of their lives and it did the same for me knowing they were so happy.
Falling in love in Brazil is also easy. I ended up falling in love many times and considered moving there for a boy. But, in the end, my business sense got the better of me. LOL
One fantastic trip was with Marc Anthony and Firecat. They both had boys from USA and Canada with them and we were in both Sao Paulo and Rio and we saw everything. There was some good memories.
On this trip tomcal made me have a blast. I was an instant celebrity when I was with him. It reminded me of when I would go to Montreal with Marc Anthony many years ago.
Tomcal knows ALL the boys and he also makes sure everyone is having a good time. He is not jealous of the boys going with someone else and I am not either so we were perfect in that regard. Both he and I want the boys to work at much as possible so when we had a new boy that we liked, we made sure the other one knew this and met him. It is hard to find good traveling companions as some guys get so fucking jealous and think that if they like a boy in a sauna, that none of their friends so go with him out of respect. The boys are there to work. If you are jealous of a boy in a sauna, take them from the sauna and pay for their life. If you are not doing this, they need to work and you should be happy they are making money. Tom was great with his and he made sure I knew anyone he was with it was OK for me to meet and go with. Well, with one exception. He had one guy that he did 2-3 times each night and the boy didn't get a free minute for me. But, that is OK as well because I was there a few days after him and got the chance to see him a few times on my own. Now, I know what he was taking him 2-3 times each night for.
I had a great trip. Used points to upgrade on Delta for my ticket and I used points at 3 of my hotels. So, the entire month was very cheap for me. The biggest expense was the boys.
Now, all of that said, I have to admit something to Firecat. I will only say this once and NEVER again. LOL He is right when he says that Thailand is so much cheaper than Brazil. There really is no comparison. The hotels, restaurants, taxis, etc are all more expensive for similar things in Thailand. The boys are about the same but everything else is more expensive. However, if you have a really good guy like IHPGUY who knows how to navigate the area, it can be very reasonable. I am just not a subway or bus guy. I like taxis and nice restaurants. So, if Firecat does not read this, good! I hate to tell him he is every right on something as he never lets me forget it. But, he is right when it comes to the rates between Thailand and Brazil.
However, there is no comparison with the boys. The boys in Brazil are passionate, versatile sex machines who love 3 ways and fuck like there is no tomorrow. The Thai boys I know and love are great sex as well but are more passive and less aggressive than the boys in Brazil. I love things about both places and luckily I have built a life where I don't have to choose one or the other. I do think everyone that goes to Brazil should also go to Thailand to see the comparison. And, I think that everyone that goes to Thailand should also make a trip to Brazil. I can't tell you how much I truly love both places and how much I love the guys in both places. Lucky that I don't have to pick one over the other as I don't know which place I would choose.
I am very happy I made this trip. I had a blast in every city (expect when I was sick with the flu). I got to meet some guy guys and I literally went to bed each night with a smile on my face. Brazil is paradise and I hope that this very long and boring thread I have done for my trip encourages a few of you to dip into the waters of Ipanema one day!

Gay Manaus Your Stop To The Amazon Rain Forrest
Here at Boy Toy, we spend a fair amount of time talking about great places to go on your next gaycation. We like to be upbeat. Positive thoughts are good for everyone and we want everyone to have a good time.
But, we also know that not every city in the world is great for the gays, and that sometimes these not-so-hot spots can't be avoided. Or, they may have other charms that make them fine to visit, even if it is hard to get your gay on.
That, my burly boys, manly men, turgid tops and beautiful bottoms, brings us to today's topic, Manaus, Brazil. This is probably the least gay city you'll ever visit in Brazil, which is strange because it has a huge population and lots of tourists. But, for whatever reason, they have chosen not to cater to the gay traveler at all.
On the other hand, it is a beautiful city and as long as you aren't looking for tons of gay clubs or rent boys, you can have a good time here.
So, let's take a little voyage to breederland and talk about visiting Manaus!
    What Gay Scene There Is
If you want to get your gay on, you should head over to Centro. There are no gay clubs but there are, depending on the season, one or two gay bars and one or two gay saunas. Check online before you go because the names of the bars and saunas seem to change fairly regularly.
You can generally find a rent boy or two in the saunas. Sometimes you'll also be lucky in the gay bars, but don't count on it. You may actually have to use your charm rather then your cash to get ass here.
    Why Go To Manaus?
With the dearth of gay-friendly activities or events, you may ask yourself: Why would I go to Manaus at all?
Well, there are several reasons. One is that it is located in the heart of the Amazon Rain Forest. If you've ever wanted to explore the rain forest, this is where you want to go. You'll have the chance to choose from dozens of different types of beautiful jungle excursions tailored to your personal tastes.
As a note, however, because the city is so well known for attracting rain forest tourists, many shady operators hang out at the airport, promising to sign you up for them. Nearly all of these guys are con artists, selling you tours that don't exist.
Instead, book a tour either through your hotel or through a reliable online travel agency. If you for some reason can't go either route, book a tour through a company that actually has a brick and mortar office space.
A second reason to go is that it is by far the most convenient way to get to Tabatinga, one of the best gay destinations in Brazil. While making your trip, you'll more likely than not get stuck staying in Manaus for a day in between flights, so you may end up here whether you are really looking to or not.
The third reason is that this is the starting point for the best Amazon River tours. These tours will take you through majestic landscapes that are almost pretty enough to make you want to put your gay on hold for the day or two that you'll be dealing with Manaus.
    Killing Time In Manaus
There are beautiful things to see in Manaus. It was founded by rubber barons who were fascinated by all things European, and had the money from the rubber trade to buy and build whatever they wanted to.
This means that there is an exact replica of the Grand Opera de Paris, and another exact replica of the Les Halles shopping district in Paris. Meanwhile, the Rio Negro Palace was designed to be an even more stunning version of Portugal's Royal Palace.
The National Park of Jau is enormous, and offers some of the most stunning flora and fauna you'll find anywhere.
Health nuts will love the fact that the acai berry grows wild here it is one of the most vitamin-filled fruits found anywhere in the world.
Meanwhile, the Paricatuba waterfall is a stunning natural wonder though you have to hire a boat and a local guide to get there.
Manaus Where You Don't Come To Cum
Let's face it, you don't need a rent boy or easy ass on every day of your gaycation. Sometimes seeing the jungle or heading up the Amazon River is nearly as much fun.
So, while you won't have much chance of sexy times in Manaus, you will have a chance to see beautiful buildings and some of the most stunning natural sites in the world. And, you only have to be here a day or two before you head on to bigger and gayer things.

eeyore reacted to TotallyOz in The Official Boy Toy Guide To Vising Europe
I was chatting with my friend tomcal the a few days back about Prague and Barcelona. I love the areas and want to go back and visit this year. I had a bit of free time last night so I thought I'd share some of my thoughts about EU with you guys.
The Official Boy Toy Guide To Vising Europe
One of the great things about being gay is that we have a lot more disposable income than our breeder buddies. After all, we don't have to worry about buying diapers for years every time a condom breaks! And, we don't have wives who insist on spending money on curtains instead of cock rings.
Which means that we get to travel much more often than they do. And we get to travel on our own, which means we get to have great sexcations. Now, there are tons of guides out there for guys who are traveling to Asia about how to deal with their customs so you don't come off as a Western imperialist dog.
But, there aren't that many guides about how to fit into European culture. Many people think that because most Americans are descended from Europeans, they have similar customs to ours and we can just do what we normally do. But, that's simply not the case. There is more than just a language difference between Americans and Europeans. There are also cultural differences and getting to understand them will help you fit in and make sure you are not perceived as an ugly American. With that in mind, get ready for the Boy Toy Guide To Visiting Europe!
The first thing you need to do is lower your voice. Americans speak much, much more loudly than European people do, and speaking in your normal voice will both single you out as an American and make you seem very rude. So, keep your voice down.
The second thing to be aware of is that there are topics of conversation that are fully acceptable in America, but not at all acceptable in Europe, the first being that people don't like to talk about their jobs or how much money they make. Asking someone what they do for a living is incredibly rude. Asking them if it pays well is even ruder.
Politics and religion are also things to be avoided. Most people in Europe are secular. They already think America is Jesusland, so don't give them any more ammunition. And, most of them are anti-capitalism and anti-imperialism for them, even Obama is far more right wing than any serious political figure in their countries - so anything you say about politics is going to come out as offensively right-wing.
Personal body space is also very different in Europe than in America. We Americans tend to assume that we should put several inches of space between us and the people around us. In Europe, they don't have those problems. So, if someone is sitting very close to you in a bar or walking very close to you on the street, they are not being rude; they simply don't have the body distance issues that we have.
Everything also moves more slowly in Europe. If you are at a cafe or a restaurant and it seems like it is taking forever for you to be served, that's not laziness or bad service. It's just that nobody is in a rush. Just relax and remember that you are on vacation. The good side of this is that unlike in America, they will not be trying to rush you out the door. If you order a coffee in a cafe, you can stay at your table for two hours reading a book if you'd like you won't be pressured to either order something else or leave.
One conversation that you can have safely and that will get cute guys talking to you is football. Not the NFL, but real football, otherwise known as soccer. There are three teams that nearly every male in Europe is willing to talk about Manchester United, Arsenal, and Real Madrid. Just go to the Wikipedia entry for any of those teams, memorize a few details, and you can get any dude in Europe to talk to you.
There is a myth that you don't tip in Europe. This is simply not true. You don't tip as much as you would in the United States, but you still should leave something after you get a drink or a meal. Leaving five euros after dinner is fine. Leaving 50 cents after you get a drink is also fine. Neither will break the bank and both will make you look like a good dude.
People tend to be much more open about sex and sexuality in Europe than in America. In several countries, infidelity is not only accepted but somewhat expected, as long as everyone is discreet. This means that just because a dude is wearing a wedding ring doesn't mean he won't be up for a little bump and grind if you charm him the right way. And, a dude who just got finished telling you he has a boyfriend may still be very interested in you.
You'll find that people tend to eat much later in Europe than in America. In France most restaurants don't open until 8 p.m., and rarely have anyone in them until 9. In Spain people don't really eat dinner until 10 p.m. or later. So, if you are used to eating around 6 or 7, try snacking during the day instead.
People in Europe are also much less judgmental about drinking and smoking than we are in America. Making comments about how you hate smoking will get you singled out as a puritan. And, don't be surprised if the people you hang out with drink more than you are used to.
Speaking of drinking, if you end up hanging out with anyone from Ireland, Wales or England, there is a round buying system. Generally, if more than two people are hanging out in a bar, one of them will buy a round of drinks. Then, it is expected that at some point in the evening you will buy a round of drinks as well if you don't, you will be considered an asshole. This is true even if there are eight or nine people at the table buy one round for everyone. It will balance out because you'll have eight or nine people buying drinks for you as well.
These are just a few tips, but keeping them in mind will help you avoid making the most common cultural blunders, which will make you look good, and, more importantly, more attractive to the boy toy of your choice.
So, remember them the next time you visit the old country!

Stayed close to my apartment for the first 4 nights and ordered in from my little Black Book , so it was time to hit some bars and see how slow slow season is. Been a lot of reports of how bad things are and the Bars can't get customers and and therefore don't have many boys.
I was not sure what to expect even though I have done this trip more times then I can count. Left my apartment at 845pm and took a Baht Bust to the BoysTown area. For those of you who have never been a baht bus is a small pick up truck with bench seats and they run a circuitous route constantly. For non Thais the rate is 10 baht or about 35cents US.
I walked by the 3 Beer Bars which are open air bars and they were pretty slow at 855pm. My first stop Funny Boys which routinely wins best GoGo Bar in Pattaya. I entered and sat down . Immediately I was given hand disinfectant and a cold towel ( a little bit of class here) Ordered a diet coke and it was brought promptly along with some peanuts. Now it was time to look at the stage and since the night was just starting there were 30-35 packed on the stage. My initial impression was that the line up was a little weaker then usual, but keep in mind I am a face person first.
Shortly after that they went to their normal rotation of 10 boys on stage at a time. With a little more time to study individuals , my thoughts were something for everyone except real muscular. I saw a boy I knew from my little black book who just started working there , so I called him over and bought him a drink. I had no plans to take a boy home tonight so I tipped him and paid for my drinks and left. Drinks are 150 baht or about $5 US. There were about a dozen customers at the time so not bad at such an early time.
Next stop was ToyBoys which has been my favorite the last few trips. Entered at 930pm and about 16 customers and probably 35-40 boys. ( slow I think not) About 1/2 the customers had boys sitting with them and a quick appraisal told me that some of the best had been chosen. Mental note get there early for best selection. There were definitely some fine faces here and probably on average 2 years younger then Funny Boys and with a select few in the 18-19 range. One of the waiters had a Model Face and I focused on him until I saw him sashay away like my good friend OZ. LOL Sorry to Fem for me. HaHaHa. Again something for everyone here including some muscular six pack boys. Many of the boys sitting with customers left with them but customers continued in to replace those who left.
Next on to X Boys where I figured I would arrive for the Show at 10pm. Walked in and found the last seat . I counted at least 50 people. The old story give them what they want and they will come. There were some preliminaries like putting golf balls with their cocks and some dance and they got down to the F--- show with 2 couples on stage , on trapeze rings and in the audience and never managed to uncouple as they looked for tips. The show finishes with the Brake Dance Boys which I always like.
Drinks here are 180 and 200 baht so a little more but you have to expect that if you are getting an xxx show. Still 1/2 the price of Bangkok.
I stuck my head in a few other bars and they were dead with only 4-6 dancers and no customers. So the Bars that give you lots of boys are doing just fine and the others complain it is slow season and they can't get boys and there are no customers.
In those 3 Bars I noticed very little difference from January High Season.

I left off with one day to go in Bangkok. I had some shopping to do for little things and some I phone and i pad accessories, so it was on to MBK. This was a very easy trip on the SkyTrain fro the Hotel . I have been remiss for those who have never visited explaining about the SkyTrain. It is like an above ground subway and it goes directly to many of the Major Malls and sightseeing spots. It is spotless, has cold a/c and runs often. It is also fairly cheap. The only negative being is that it stops running at midnight i believe. Now taxis are plentiful, new and very cheap by Western standards or by just about any standards in the world. The only problem being the traffic congestion. You have to pick your times to use a taxi or you could be sitting in one for a very long time. Anyways I arrived at MBK and as I mentioned before this is a mall where most of the shops are 60-100 sq ft and many less then that. All privately owned and usually the prices are about as good as you can get in the famous Patpong Market after you spend a lot of time haggling. And MBK is air conditioned , so it can be a much more pleasant experience. I finished shopping and headed back to my Hotel where some delayed jet lag was catching up with me and I had an early pick up in the morning for my trip to Pattaya. The next morning my driver was their promptly at 830am. To me this one of the great bargains in Thailand. I was picked up in a nice 4dr sedan with pillows and good a/c for about a 2 hour drive to Pattaya. The cost about $40 US. Hell a taxi from LGA to Manhattan is about 20 minutes and costs close to $50. Anyways I always stay in an apartment building on the water and the first 2 photos are day and night on my balcony. It is a studio suite with everything. Full kitchen, fast internet, 46" Flatscreen, large walk in shower, big comfortable bed and lots of mirrors. (hehe) The cost about $67 US per night. It also happens to be directly adjacent to the largest mall in Pattaya and the Hilton Hotel which I have added photos of. Those escalators are at beach level and take you to the 2nd floor.Although not as big and fancy as Siam Paragon in Bangkok, it is still very nice and beachfront. You can even go to the movies and sit outside under the stars with your sweetheart. Pattaya is quite different from Bangkok. It is not a World Class city by any means but it is a World Class City for prostitutes of all genders and I do mean all. They are trying to change it to family friendly and have gotten a large influx of Russians as well as other Asians who have spent lots of money on new Condo buildings . But famed Walking Street is about mile long with GoGo Bars with Ladies on both sides. There are 2 Gay areas , one is known as BoysTown and and the other Sunee Plaza. BoysTown is 7 minutes away from my Hotel and encompasses 3 streets with GoGo Bars and Massage places. Now to be perfectly proper BoysTown is really only 1 street but everyone refers to the next 2 streets as being BoysTown. I never counted them but I would guess about 15 GoGo Bars. There are 3 open air bars where people got to watch the traffic and have drinks . The waiters are available and this is all on the original BoysTown street. Some of the Bars have nightly shows and at least 1 Bar has a live F--- show. Sunee is a bit of a different animal in that it has a lot of open air bars usually referred to as Beer Bars. Again the waiters can be taken home. There are also some GoGo Bars . Sunee has a well deserved reputation of having underage boys available in their GoGo Bars. Most of this has been cleaned up but it is still there and you must be careful to check id's. 18 is the only safe age. Some of the other photos are of Beach Road along the water. Believe me this is not a great beach, especially since Thailand has some of the worlds great beaches. But it is a Beach Town with a lot of action. You can see the motorbikes lined up in one of the photos and this is a preferred mode of transportation for the tourists . There are literally thousands of motorbikes for rent by the day, week or month. The last photo is my favorite boy from last time and I apologize that it is the only boy photo. But the first week I usually spend all my time with known boys. I know what I am going to get and they know what I like. The one in the photo definitely knows. Another few days I will probably meet some new boys and I will try to post some photos. Remember lots more information to help you plan a trip on www.gaythailand.com

So today was a slow day. I started off by going to MBK and for those of you not familiar, it is a large mall with mostly small privately owned shops. Not many big Corporations here except for Fast Food and Banks.
The whole 4th floor is nothing but phones and accessories and computers . You can easily get a headache hear . Its like being in A diamond center where everything looks the same after awhile. But a great place to find covers for your mini iPad or your iphone 5 and about any other phone you can imagine.
I bought a few Iphone covers as presents and then headed back to my Hotel arriving just before the Thunderstorms.. I tried to find a date on Gayromeo but everyone I wanted was working. Thats the problem in BKK, many of the boys have real jobs and can't just leave to get paid for Sex even though the hourly rate is probably 10-15 times what they are making.
This does not happen in Pattaya where most of the boys on GayRomeo are either working at GoGo Bars etc or just working GayRomeo.
The Thunderstorms cleared out so I headed out alone to Soi Twilight . Unfortunately my friend from the previous night was at the Hospital where his baby had come down with the Flu. As you can see from Mike's posts this is a bad flu and very dangerous for babies.
I planned to stop at the Open Air Bar as you enter Soi Twilight and try to entice the adorable waiter for fun. Unfortunately I was right and he wanted my friend who is 40 years my junior. I understand but he will learn where the money is and I expect the next time in a few months I will become more attractive to him. LOL
I just did not feel like 300 baht sodas so I walked down to where Super A is . Super A is what is called a Sleaze Bar and I will leave it to your imagination what that means. They used to be on the 2nd floor but have moved to the first floor. Really has never been my kind of Bar but I have a good friend who always wanted to visit and is a very visible poster here so I would go with him.
And I have to admit there were always 1 or 2 diamonds there but they were either of questionable age or were not Thai. So it was an eye candy place for us and of course some groping and kissing etc.
I had not been back since they moved downstairs and the place is much smaller now. They had 12 boys and I can honestly say they were the worst group of boys I have ever seen in Thailand. And it is very very dark in this bar so I am afraid to imagine what they would look like under better light. There were definitely no Diamonds in this bunch.
That was enough for me and headed back to my Hotel where I figured I would find a boy on GayRomeo. Now there are hundreds of boys on Gayromeo at almost any time of day. I have become quite good at narrowing them down to where I usually get what is in the pictures rather then someone 10 years older or not looking any thing like the photos.
I narrowed it down to 2 possibles and made offers only to find out they were both at jobs and did not finish until 2am. One was a receptionist at a Hotel and the other a Bar Back at a late night restaurant. Really sucks because they both spoke pretty good English because of their jobs . That is just too late for an old guy like me. One promised he would come in the morning at 10am but he probably won't wake up.
I am ready for Pattaya where I rarely need more then 15 minutes to find a suitable boy at any time of the day and I do mean at any time.
To be continued. 1 more night in Bangkok and then on to Pattaya. Sorry no photos, I will do better in Pattaya.

    Continuation of Day 1.
Continuing on I met an old friend and we went out at night with the first stop Soi 4 . For those of you who don't know this is a gay street but without any GoGo Bars. Restaurants and Bars and it has changed drastically in the last few months. More new restaurants and a Club with live music and even a massage parlor. We were pretyy early so could not sample the live music but I have heard it can be quite good. Always a lot of energy on this street and a perfect way to start the evening.
Then it was on to what is known as Soi Twilight where most of the GoGo Bars in Thailand reside. The price of drinks at these places have caused many regular visitors to look for other opportunities but for the first time visitor it is a must. Many bars have 30 or 40 boys and one has over a 100. Numerous bars have live Sex show sand if you have never seen one it can be fun.
The surprise this evening was as you enter the Soi on the right there is an outside Bar not Go Go and tonight we got stopped by the most adorable waiter and even better then that a great personality and smile. I have walked by that bar a thousand times and never stopped. Tonight we spent quite some time there and we discovered more boys working there that we knew previously from GoGo Bars.
The drinks are very reasonable by Gay Bangkok standards . 60 baht for sodas and drinks and I think 120 baht for Booze and my friend said the drinks were doubles. We probably spent over an hour there and with drinks for the boys and tips for the 2 cutest , I spent 700 baht about $24.
The adorable one is on my radar . Unfortunately I think he liked my friend a lot more since he is 40 years younger. But I will be trying.
After that we proceeded down to Classic Boys Club where I had read the stable of boys had improved and so worth paying 270 baht or $9 for drinks. We walked in and the show was in full swing with 2 boys walking around in the audience coupled together if you get my drift. They then proceeded to remain coupled on some trapeeze rings . Very educational! LOL
After the show about 30 boys came back on stage and there was something for everyone , including Fem boys , Masculine, Straight (maybe) etc. Some very attractive boys.
Now it was time to go to sleep since I am seriousy jet lagged. Will be back with more when I have someting interesting.
And for those of you who have never been but want to go there is a lot more information. on http://Gaythailand.com

I am not going to try to compete with the fabulous travelogue OZ has been giving us on Brazil , because I know I would finish 2nd. But I am going to try to show more photos of the wonderful country of Thailand and I will try to add some photos of the beautiful boys when I can. Having spent as much time in Thailand as I have , many of the boys I see are repeats and photos have been posted in the past but I will do my best.

I left from Seattle and flew on ANA for the first time. It only takes a short time to notice the difference in service and especially smiles of a Japanese crew vs. a USA crew. No comparison in the level of service , the quality of food etc as compared to DL or United who I have always flown.

Arriving into Tokyo was exciting on this flight since they had 40-50 mph cross winds and many airplanes could not land. On our first pass we got down to about 10 ft above the ground and he realized he couldn't make it and poured on the power and went around. I'm not sure how many people in the airplane realized how close we were to a disaster. I was in the first row of First Class(upgraded) and I am a pilot. I was scared. For a few minutes it looked like we were going to Osaka which of course would have been a mess for me in continuing on to Bangkok. After a few minutes I realized from the terrain that we were actually making another approach to Tokyo which the pilot never said anything about. He made it this time (barely) but believe me he earned his salary for that landing.

Naturally everything was backed up so my flight to Bangkok was 2 hours late departing but arrived in Bangkok at 1am

I am spending 4 nights in Bangkok before going to Pattaya, well actually 3 1/4 because I didn't get to the Hotel until after 2 am. Same Hotel that I posted photos last time so will not repeat , but a 700 sq foot 1 bedroom for $140 a night . That $140 won't get you much in Brazil or a lot in Europe and of course you can get some very nice rooms in Bangkok for $60-80.

I think many people who have not travelled extensively outside the USA and especially to Asia may have a feeling that Thailand is sort of a step up from a 3rd world country. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Bangkok is a world Class City with all that you would expect to find in New York, London etc. Sightseeing options are numerous with fabulous Palaces, Temples etc . For those who like shopping , the malls in Bangkok compare favorably to any in the world. Movie theaters where the ticket and popcorn and beverage combined cost 1/2 the price of a ticket in USA . There is really nothing you cannot find in Bangkok and that includes boys of any type for a price that is a joke compared to escorts in the USA. Massage parlors where you can get a great massage and a Happy Ending if you so choose for less then 1/2 the cost of a massage only in USA.

I took a few photos of the #1 mall in Bangkok ( Siam Paragon)IMHO. Not sure you can tell the level of this mall but no money has been spared and they have only the Best names in Retail here and the eye candy is also great. I tried to show one of the largest Bookstores in Thailand and around the corner was a Maserati Dealership and of course this is on the 4th floor.

The last few photos are of the biggest Food Court I have ever seen and there is just no way these photos can truly show what is available here. You could walk here for an hour and never pass the same place again. Also on this floor is a high end Grocery Store with a lot of Western Foods .

The last photo to keep you interested is my desert for the afternoon. This young man is actually better looking then the photo. 2 hours with him for $65. It does not get much better.

Today was the day I had set aside for the trip I have planned my entire faction and that is a road trip to the Praia Do Forte and the Tamar Sea Turtle Project. I know most people have no desire to ride 120 KM in a taxi to see some giant turtles but it was a part of my must see list.
I was not able to book a professional tour guide this trip as they either didn't get back to me or they were booked. So, I had a nice taxi driver I liked and he said he would take me for 300R. He does not speak English and thus we had zero communication but I thought he was fun and enjoyable.
He is required to have a proper shirt and pants to sit in line at the hotel for a taxi ride but today he showed up on swim trunks and shirt and eye glasses. He was ready to party.
We left at 8am today and spent the entire day. He did not rush me one time and we stopped at about 7 different beaches along the way. Each one was beautiful in its own way. Some were small fishing villages and others were more organized and larger communities. I felt very safe in each one and very comfortable.
I loved watching the locals do their business whether it was fishing, swimming, riding horseback or cooking. It was just a really enjoyable cultural experience.
I wish I had listened to IHPGUY and spent a few days out there just on the beaches and doing nothing but soaking in the sun. Had I had his vast knowledge, I would have done the trip differently and most likely would have booked a small hotel on the beach and just enjoyed my time there.
The Sea Turtle project was great to see and I really enjoyed it. They save thousands of turtles every year and I had a big smile on my face the entire time I was there. The village the sanctuary was in looks great. Lots of shops, stores and restaurants. We ate at a local little cafe and had a typical Brazilian lunch. We then kept going farther up the beaches.
I enjoyed seeing the surfer boys, the families all laying in the ocean and the fishermen. It was a full day today!
    Summary for Salvador:
Like others, I have found Salvador to be a real treat. It has become one of my favorite cities in Brazil. I love the people and the atmosphere and the beaches can't be beat.
I liked the Mecure Hotel here. It was clean and great room service and good breakfast.
On the street as the hotel were tons of little restaurants. They were not so cheap but they were divine. I found one that has lunch specials for 27R - 32R and I ate there every day for lunch.
Getting around is hard if you don't speak the language. Most likely, next time I am here I will get a boy to travel here with me. I need someone from Brazil that can speak both English and Portuguese. It was my plan for Fortaleza but as I was sick, I didn't find anyone.
The city is cheap depending on what you do and where you eat. But, the taxis take a while to get from one place to the next. Next time I might get a rental car and do my own driving.
The boys here are divine and they have great bodies. Each morning I was up early watching the boys run on the beach, play ball, swim, etc. It is a very active city.

I went to the Barra Lighthouse today. It is at the end of the Barra peninsula and housed inside an ancient Portuguese fort, Barra Lighthouse (Farol da Barra). It is a prime spot to view the spectacular sunsets and views across All Saints Bay and to watch the boats go by, sailing boats float and men out on the rocks fishing for food. I climbed to the top of the lighthouse (10R) and saw the museum and took some time for some photos. It was very enjoyable.
Inside the lighthouse and youll find a small museum filled with maps, charts and artifacts many of which were recovered from sunken ships transporting the slaves during the colonial period. There were several beach areas nearby and I enjoyed watching the families play in the waves for a bit. But, it was getting a bit rainy and wet so I headed back to hotel for rest.
At night, I decided I at least wanted to see a few of the saunas. I also had to go to Citibank before my trip to the Sea Turtle Sanctuary tomorrow. So, I hired a driver for the night and took off.
    Thermas Olympus | Rua Tuiuti, 183 | 71 329 0060
Olympus is small, quiet, basic, and has astonishingly beautiful boys who give great massages (and other delights). It isn't packed, though, so you can basically have your choice and even negotiate the rate. Tonight when I went, there were only 3 boys there. 2 were extremely hot but the owner wanted me to leave all my clothes in the locker and with only 3 people there, I wanted to keep my wallet and money with me. It was not going to happen, so I left. There was no fee to look around and see the boys. They did make clear this this was not a sauna but a house of prostitution and the boys were working boys and they wanted customers and not lookers. LOL
    Planetario 11 | Rua José Duarte, 11 | 71 3321 4511 | http://www.planetario11.com.br/
This club, known to locals as simply P11, looks unassuming from the outside but inside is a huge sauna packed with working boys they say if you can't get laid here, you can't get laid anywhere. Stick around for the shows and other entertainment, ranging from drag to strippers to DJs. Tonight was a Saturday night and there were about 35 boys there. 90 percent of them were very dark black boys. A few lighter color guys and 2 twinks. The vast majority of guys had 6 packs and were beautiful. The average age was 22-28. I talked to about 8 boys and none of them spoke English. However, they were all nice and friendly and loved to show me their massive cocks. All said they were not gay. 5 of them said they were both Active and Passive. The two twinky boys were both active and passive. LOL
The place is big and it comprises 3 levels with dark rooms, movie rooms, a big theater screen, a bar and several relaxing rooms and one smoking room. There were plenty of customers there. The place is hard to find so before you go print out a map for your driver as most won't find it easily.
In fact, when you go anywhere in the city, I suggest you mark the spot on a map to show them. Not one taxi I have seen has GPS and they are not like the Sao Paulo taxis and just roll down the window and ask where something is. They just keep driving and driving and trying to find it.
The area where the saunas were is far away from my hotel and not in as nice an area as the tourist area. But, I never felt uncomfortable. However, I did keep the same driver for the night. He drove me to the Citibank and then to a few of the saunas. The cost for the night was 100R.

I met this young man named Jacques (sounded like Jackson) at a local venue and he spoke decent English and we chatted for a long time and I asked him for lunch. He agreed and we spent an hour just chatting about New York, Salvador and travel. We ate at a local por kilo place he wanted to eat at that has all organic produce and nothing is cooked that is not from their farm. It was nice and tasty food and the bill was about 65R for both of us. A very nice young man. More on my day a bit later but thought I'd share a quick photo.

Today was the first day I have felt like getting out of the hotel. I knew I wanted to see a few things in Salvador before I go to Rio next week so I decided to venture out to the old area called the Historic Center of Salvador or as the locals say, The Pelourinho. It is an area that is in the western area of the city and it was the main part of the city during the Portuguese Colonial Period. There are many churches and historical moments dating back from the 17th through the 19th centuries. Since Salvador was the first capital of Brazil and the city is one of the oldest in the "New World" the area has amazing significance to the people here. It is also where the center of the slave trade into Brazil was located and thus why you see some very dark black bodies. Salvador is known for his beautiful black men and I have yet to take a ride in a taxi where my mouth was not dropping at the sight of such beauties.
I ended up meeting a nice guy today and having lunch with him. He was fun to talk to and we exchanged numbers. He wanted to visit me tonight but as I just over the flu, I did not want to risk him getting sick so I told him I could not tonight but perhaps on Sunday night. He is a VERY gay boy and not a money guy from what I can tell. I think he just liked the attention I gave him when I saw him and as we talked, he noticed I couldn't take my eyes off his ass. What a lovely monument it is!
Our lunch was at a por kilo place. These places are all over Brazil and it is you pay for what you eat. This specific place was one where all the food was home grown in the area. It was reasonable and tasty and I am glad I went there with him for lunch.
The rest of my afternoon was spent walking around the art shops and street vendors looking at artwork and soaking in the scenery that is unique to Salvador. I will say that the thing that surprised me the most was there was a police station on just about every street I visited. Not even a few hundred feet away from the last one. This tells me that perhaps the area is not safe or that it is very safe. In either case, I felt fine walking around and shopping and yes, Firecat, I took my camera for you. LOL
There were plenty of great inside art shops but I also loved the outside street graffiti.

There were tourists everywhere and artists on display on the street along with a few pack of dogs walking around. Everyone just seemed to be doing their own thing.
After a few hours of the heat and sun, my body recovering from the flu I just had to head back to the hotel to drink a lot of cold water and relax. It was a fun day and one that I really enjoyed. Salvador is beautiful and this part was divine!

I am headed to Fortaleza and Salvador later in the week and I have been researching the cities. I have made a pretty comprehensive list of businesses and establishments in several cities in Brazil. Please let me know if any are incorrect, your favorites, places you have been and love or hated. As I'll be there next week, if there is something in the area that I should not miss, please let me know.

    Hotels

    1 Golden Tulip Iate Plaza | Av. Beira Mar, 4753 | 85 3533-6900 | http://www.goldentulipiateplaza.com/default.aspx

The Golden Tulip's spacious rooms have a tub and shower big enough for two, and their balconied rooms overlook the beachside pool area as well as the shore beyond. There's a modern outdoor lounge area too. Note that the Golden Tulip's hotels are part of a frequent flyer loyalty program that includes American Airlines and KLM/Air France, so if you've got miles, spend them here!

    2 Tulip Inn Saint Martin | Av. da Abolição, 3340 | 85 3533-6100 | http://www.tulipinnsaintmartin.com/default.aspx

Another hotel under the Golden Tulip umbrella, The Tulip Inn Saint Martin isn't as glamorous as the Golden Tulip, but it's still a block from the beach, and has adjoining rooms in case you want to get a room for your new friend on the down low. Note that the Golden Tulip's hotels are part of a frequent flyer loyalty program that includes American Airlines and KLM/Air France, so if you've got miles, spend them here!

    3 Hotel Casa de Praia | R. Joaquim Alves, 169 | 85 3219-1022 | http://www.hotelcasadepraia.com.br
This hotel is not on the beach, but Iracema Beach is only a couple of blocks away. And it's gay-friendly, pet-friendly, and has free wifi. The main clubbing street, R. Dragão do Mar, is less than 10 blocks away. The rooftop swimming pool has great views, and the rooms are simple and clean, if a little outdated.

    4 Hotel Encontro do Sol | R. Monsenhor Bruno, 122 | 85 3031-6222 ext. 85 | 85 3466-4400 | http://www.hotelencontrodosol.com
The swimming pool is outside, there's full air conditioning inside, and it's pretty much right across the street from the beach. This three-star hotel is not the most elegant place you've ever stayed in, and the '70s era murals are hysterical – but with the Baccaras by day and the clubs by night, with saunas in between, who wants to stay in the room all day?

    5 Villa Galé Fortaleza | Av. Dioguinho, 4189 | 85 3486-4400 | http://www.vilagale.co.uk/pages/hoteis/?hotel=15
Villa Galé is a five-star resort hotel right on the beachfront, and features a spa with Turkish bath and hot tub as well as (actual) massages by appointment. The balconied rooms overlook the pool area, where there's always something to see, if you catch our drift. If you'll be in Fortaleza for a while, splurge on one of the suites with a kitchenette.

    6 Mareiro Hotel | Av. Beira Mar, 2380 | 85 3266-7200 | http://www.mareiro.com.br
Make sure to book a sea view room at this beachfront hotel, which overlooks the pool as well. And what a pool it is – complete with resort-style footbridge, swim-up bar, and plenty of lounge chairs. There are also two decent restaurants on the property, and free wifi. The rooms are simple but modern, and fully air conditioned.

    7 Maredomus Hotel | Avenida Almirante Barroso, 1030 | 85 4005-4500 | http://www.maredomus.com.br
There are no balcony rooms at this beachfront hotel, but its rooftop pool area – one of the highest on this stretch of beach – has spectacular views night and day, and will easily become your home away from home. There's also a sauna and gym, and their morning buffet is not to be missed.

    8 Marina Park Hotel | Av. Presidente Castelo Branco, 400 | 85 4006-9595 | http://www.marinapark.com.br/sis.index.asp?pasta=1&pagina=23
Marina Park has five-star amenities while still retaining a breezy Brazilian style. The pool bar can be quite the scene, and its location right on the marina makes the whole place seem like a cruise ship at sea. There are also tennis courts if you're feeling sporty.

    9 Oásis Atlântico Imperial | Av. Beira Mar 2500 | 85 4009-2800 | http://www.oasisatlantico.com/en/imperial
Another five-star makes our list, and its position perpendicular to the beach means that every room has a view – even if there are no balconies. The pool is sleek and sexy with a swim-up bar, and there's 24-hour room service if you just can't be bothered leaving bed.

    Bars

    1 Barraca Cabumba | Av. Zezé Diego 3911 | 85 3262-4187 | no website

If you want to go swimming in the sea, then you wan to head to Praia do Futuro, where the water is clean. And while you're there, set up your beach headquarters at Barraca Cabumba, where all – and we mean all – of your needs will be met. It's a hopping gay and gay-friendly place where you can eat, drink, and spend the day looking at gorgeous beach bodies frolicking.

    2 Bar Pirata | Rua da Tabajaras 325 | 85 4100-6161 | http://www.pirata.com.br
The New York Times may have given rave reviews to its Monday night party, and it's a barn-burner, with a tremendous live show of traditional music and dancing. It's not a gay bar or even a gay theme night, but it's something you should definitely do while you're in Fortaleza. And it's so crowded, no one is going to care if you bring your boy toy with you for a night out on the town.

    3 Órbita Bar | R. Dragão do Mar, 207 | 85 3453-1421 | https://www.facebook.com/pages/%C3%93rbita-Bar/179879638771030 (their website address defaults to their FB page)
This is yet another place on Rua Dragão do Mar, but this bar features live blues music and a much less frenetic vibe. Expect a mixed but friendly crowd, many different theme nights (usually around holidays), and a staff who's nice to the gringos.

    4 Boteco do Fasano | Rua Dragão do Mar, 218 | 85 8883-0020 | no website
This friendly bar on the main bar and club strip is fun, friendly and has karoke and live music. It's attached to the club but is its own place; however, if you go there for a pre-club drink you get a discount off the club entrance fee. There's also a pool, showers, and a shop that sells beachy things.

    5 Barraca América do Sol | Av. Zezé Diogo, 4265 | 85 3091-1387 | http://www.barracaamericadosol.com.br
This barraca welcomes a mixed crowd, but is gay-friendly enough that they definitely warrant a place on our list. Spend the day under an umbrella at a table on the sand, or stick around at night for live music and a relaxed vibe.

    6 Opera Club & Café | Rua Dos Tabajaras, 374 | 85 8869 5269 | no website
This bar is a popular pre-clubbing spot for a gay and straight crowd, with snacky treats, good drinks, and a flirty vibe that gets you ready for whatever the night may bring.

    7 Barraca do Joca | Av. Beira Mar, 3101 | 85 3242-1739
During the day this is your run of the mill beach club, with maybe a bit more gays than other places but not ultra-fabulous. But at night, although it's not necessarily advertised, there is a prime-grade cruising going on here, so grab a seat and check out the merchandise.

    8 Arre Egua | R. Delmiro Gouveia, 420 | 85 3267-2325 | http://www.arreegua.com.br
This is technically a restaurant as well as a bar, but anyplace that lights the bar on fire on a nightly basis is definitely more of a party than a dining establishment. They also have live shows, comedy nights, and a friendly atmosphere, where people bounce from tables to the bar.

    9 Cafofo do Barão | Rua Barão do Rio Branco, 2910 | 85 3283-2567 | no website
If you want to get your drink on and your flirt on without heading to the beach yet again, Cafofo do Barão is your place. Tons of boys meet up here before moving the action over to the clubs, so you can always find some gorgeous thing to bat your eyes at while having a caipirinha that's surprisingly well made.

    Clubs/Discos

    1 Divine Danceteria | Rua General Sampaio, 1374 | 85 3221-6435 | http://boatedivine.blogspot.com (hasn't been updated since 2008)
This gay club is teeming with escort boys and features a dark room, drag shows and other live performances. Also, note that it's open until 5am only on Fridays and Saturdays; the rest of the week it winds down around 12 or 1, and is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

    2 Boate Donna Santa | Rua Dragão do Mar, 308 | 85 3219-1164 | http://boatedonnasanta.com.br/intro.php
Shake your booty all Saturday night long – and into the wee hours of Sunday – when this gay club is absolutely rocking. House DJs as well as guest DJs from The Week get the place warmed up, so if you want some fresh air, head out to the outdoor lounge with a drink from one of the three bars inside. Go-go boys make the perfect eye candy, if you can wrench yourself away from the dance floor.

    3 Music Box | R. José Avelino, 387 | 85 3219-3699 | https://www.facebook.com/people/MusicBox-Fortaleza/100000952289060 (no other website)
Yet another DJ-dominated club that packs them in and gets them dancing, especially on Thursday nights, when the gay boys are out in style. If you're tired of heading to Rua Dragão do Mar all the time for the action, this is a great alternate choice.

    4 Crystal Club | Av. Domingos Olímpio, 1400 | 85 8865-6481 | no website

    5 Unique Club | Rua Dragão do Mar, 441 | 85 3224-6419 | https://www.facebook.com/DRACULAHALLOWEEN2012
For people to say that Unique has the best DJs in this DJ-heavy town, you know they have to be good. They're also freaking adorable, but you'll be easily distracted by the hard bodies on the dance floor, the laser light show, and other various antics happening throughout the joint. Note, though, that it's only open on Saturdays.

    6 Boate Level | Rua Dragão do Mar, 218 | 85 3219-0744 | https://www.facebook.com/boate.level.218
With theme nights like Androgyny and Aquarium, you can always be sure there's something going on at this massive vaulted space. Shirtless DJs abound, drag shows pop up here and there, and it's not unusual to have a full-on birthday celebration for a gay icon (Britney, Beyonce, etc.) even if there's no chance in hell they're showing up.

    7 Boate Clube Liberal 441 | Rua Dragão do Mar, 441 | 85 3032-0441 | http://www.clubeliberal441.com.br
Take the word “liberal” literally – this isn't so much a gay bar, or even a gay-friendly bar, as it is a fee-for-all for every possible sexual flavor – from gay to straight to bi to swingers to voyeurs. There are dark rooms, booths and glory holes, so everyone can join in the fun.

    Sauna/Massage

    1 Dragon Health Club | Rua Almirante Jacequai, 239 | 85 3219-1052 |http://www.dragonclubfortaleza.com.br
The spacious, sleek, sexy Dragon Health Club is arguably the hottest sauna scene in Fortaleza, especially on Saturday afternoons. In addition to the comfy private rooms, erotic films, dark room and pool action, they also have high-end, legit spa services that will have you looking cute and perky for whatever festivities you have scheduled. Themes include “Club Ursos” bear nights, happy hour drink specials, and a 50 percent discount on your birthday.

    2 California Thermas Club | Rua Barbara de Alencar, 424 | 85 3226-6556 | http://www.californiathermas.com.br
California Thermas has straight nights, so check and make sure before going; Thursdays seem to be the best, with go-go boy shows and naked masseurs. Bears especially love the nightly drinks specials, video karaoke, dark rooms, porn films, and plenty of working boys who are ripe for the picking.

    3 Termas 2000 | Rua Rocha Lima, 1186 | 85 3261-5077 | http://www.termas2000.com.br (doesn't work)
This sauna is a good cruising spot, especially since it's right next to a gym. They have happy hour until 6pm, and drink specials through the night – as well as stripper shows and other titillating fare. Also – free Internet!

    4 Sauna Tres Chic | Av. Heráclito Graça, 625 | 85 3032-9001 | no website
What this sauna lacks in size, it makes up for in action, especially once the sun goes down. There aren't a ton of rent boys here but there are pretty young things to play with, and plenty of older gents so you won't feel like the senior citizen in the room.

    5 Thermas Kaliente | Rua 25 de Março, 1074 | 85 3221-4083 | http://www.temtudo.com.br/thermaskaliente (doesn't work)
Although this is technically a sauna, with full facilites including a pool that's quite nice, this isn't where you want to spend some time lounging around; it's more if you're in the mood for a locals-only scene and you want to pick up a hottie to go.

6 Via Centro Thermas | Av. Tristão Gonçalves, 744 | 85 3454-1499 | http://viacentro.blogspot.it/?zx=d1eef3754d61edfc (note that http://www.viacentrothermas.com.br/ which is their usual listing does not work)
Yes, this is a sauna – but you're definitely going to want to stick around for the entertainment. Whether it's go-go boys, stripper shows, laser light extravaganzas or drag queens in rare form, there's always something going on at night here. And whatever it is brings in boys by the truck load. Sundays are definitely the biggest party nights.

    7 Termas Iracema | Rua Vicente Leite, 2020 | 85 244-1999 (yes, only 7 digits) | no website
Some say it's the best in town, while others don't think it's up to snuff – but whatever your opinion, there's no doubt that Termas Iracema attracts every possible type of gay man, and the gay men who love them.

    Restaurants

    1 Coco Bambu | Rua Canuto de Aguiar, 1317 | 085 3242-7557 |
Not sure what you feel like eating? Then head to Coco Bambu, where their enormous menu covers pretty much every type of food from all over the world, from sushi to pizza. It's usually packed and the decibel levels can get high, but it's a lot of fun and there is some great people watching.

    2 Santa Clara Café Orgânico | Rua Dragão do Mar 81 | 085 3219-6900 |
Yes, this restaurant is on the main club street in the city, and yes, everything is organic. Its location as well as the organic factor means that there are many, many pretty young things draped about for you to peruse while you're sipping on your organic coffee and having a delicious organic wrap.

    3 Cabana del Primo | Rua Dona Maria Tomasia, 503 | 85 3244-3691 | http://www.cabanadelprimo.com.br
After sampling the man meat of Fortaleza, sink your teeth into the delicious steaks at Cabana del Primo, an Argentine steak house that gets rave reviews from locals and gringos alike. It's pretty high end, so save it for a splurge; order the "man size" meat, and save room for the delicious desserts.

    4 Moana Gastronomia & Arte | Av. Beira Mar, 4260 | 85 3263-4887 | http://www.moanarestaurante.com.br
There is so much to love about Moana, the high-end restaurant that is THE place to go for an exquisite meal – the view, the wine list, the carpaccio, the insanely good risotto. They also have an extensive bar with excellent offerings you can't find in down-home places, like great whiskies. The understated ambience is a nice break from the crazy nightlife and sultry settings you've been in recently.

    5 Lo Restaurante | Avenida Pessoa Anta, 217 | 85 3265 2288 | http://www.lorestaurante.com.br
If you don't get the lamb here, you're missing out. And if it's not too crazy hot out, it's one of the few upscale places where you can dine outdoors in something other than plastic chairs on the sand – their patio is legendary for its fabulous factor.

    6 Santa Grelha | Rua Tiburcio Cavalcante, 790 | 85 3224-0249 | http://www.socialclube.com.br
This is a good place to go before heading out for the night – you'll be a bit dressed up so you'll blend in with the crowd, and there's dental floss and mouthwash in the restroom so you don't have to worry about bad breath while you're chatting up tonight's boy. Excellent steaks abound, so come hungry.

    7 Oui Bistro | Avenida Santos Dumont, 2391 | 85 3268-4141 | http://www.ouibistro.com.br
Contemporary décor, large portions, and a wine selection that will keep you pickled for a month. Try not to walk away with one of those fantastic striped upholstered chairs that face across the table from the banquette seating. The menu is heavy on seafood and meat, but there are some divine veggie options as well.

    Cinemas

    1 Cine Betão | R. Pedro I, 357
This place has a pretty hip scene, with weekend dance parties – but there's nothing in the way of cabins, booths or other places to get your rocks off.

2 Cine Sexy | Rua Major Facundo, 279
There are theaters upstairs and downstairs, but the real action is in the stairwells and hallways. There are dark rooms and private rooms for taking care of business.

3 Cine Majestic | Rua Major Facundo, 866
Fans of transvestites will love the scene at this cinema. Rent boys are also littered about the place, so take your pic. Note there are private cabins here as well.

4 Cine Jangada | Rua General Sampaio, 703
This is another theater with rent boys a-plenty, and there are also multiple screens, private viewing booths, and live shows.

5 Cine Tentação | Rua Floriano Peixoto / Rua Meton de Alencar
If straight guys are your thing, then this place – which translates to 'Temptation Cinema" – is where you want to go. Lots of heteros, lots of married guys, and lots of dicks in need of sweet, sweet release.

6 Cine Encontro | Rua Barão do Rio Branco, 1697
There's a theater here, but see that huge room upstairs? Stick around until nightfall, when it turns into a giant dark room. Wowza!

7 Cine Sedução | Rua Floriano Peixoto 1307
One of the nicer porn theaters in this neighborhood, you can feel secure in grabbing food and drinks here, and maybe even hang out for a bit!

8 Cine Star | Rua Floriano Peixoto, 1035
Unlike many of the theaters here, Cine Star shows gay and straight porn, because who knows what'll turn you on? Or maybe it's for the married men who seem to frequent this place. Don't worry, though, there's also plenty of gays – especially bears. Woof!

9 Cine Privê | Rua Major Facundo, 1197
Glory holes, dark rooms and private rooms, oh my! Head to the back room for the hottest action.

10 Love House Night | Rua Assunção / Av. Duque de Caxias
OK. This place is not the best, cleanest, or even most fun – but they have lots of different areas for showing films, and it's a young crowd that, if that's your thing, is defintely worth checking out.

    Fortaleza Saunas, Sex And Sun
Hello my little boy toys, big old bears, terrific twinks and fellow cockaholics. Today, we're going to tell you about one of the most fun gaycation spots in South America Fortaleza, Brazil.
The name comes from the Portuguese word for fort, and was at one point the chief seaside fortress in the region. Today, it's not so military but is instead a wonderful bohemian city on the beach that offers a sextacular lifestyle for anyone who cares to cruise down to visit.
You'll find that while there are tons of gay European tourists, the number of American tourists are fairly low. Because of this, you may have more of a language barrier than in other South American hot spots, but if you speak even a little bit of any Euro language, you should be fine.
The city has become known as one of the best places in the world for gay cruising, particularly if you are interested in hot young male escorts (and, really, who isn't?). So, let's take a little tour of fine-for-fucking Fortaleza.
    Beach Bums!
The main tourist activity in Fortaleza is hitting the beach. There are 16 miles of beaches along the coast, with everything from family-friendly sunbathing spots (boring!) to super hot gay cruising beaches.
The Barraca Cabumba beach is where you want to hang out if you just want to mingle with fellow happy homos. It's a gay beach where people come to relax and bake off their hangovers after a night of hitting the hot, hot bar scene.
You'll have a great chances of meeting cute guys here you can hang out with later, though it's not much of a hookup beach.
If you want your chance to get some sex into your beach bum sexperience, then head over to Meireles beach, where the action is much hotter. Here is where you can find Mr. Right Now and head to a secluded spot for some private fun time.
Both beaches are heavily gay and you won't have to worry about being surrounded by boring breeders.
    Rent Boy Paradise
Can we be blunt? When you are in Fortaleza and not going to the beach, your main other activity may be playing with the rent boys. There are more of them here per capita than in Rio, so you'll never be at a loss for finding your own little male escort.
Your only challenge will be that the nicer hotels require you to register your guests, and will frown upon you bringing an escort back with you. This, of course, stops neither rent boys nor their customers. There are plenty of rent-by-the-hour love hotels that are fairly cheap and will ask no questions about who you bring in with you. That said, sometimes you don't really want to go to all that hassle.
This is why the male escorts have learned how to work the saunas and many, many small dark rooms in the gay bars and clubs. At any given time, figure that a large percent of the young guys in the saunas and clubs are for hire given the right motivation.
You just talk to them, agree on a price, and then head over to a secluded spot of the sauna or club and get your gay on. Because of the sheer numbers of rent boys working the bars and saunas, the prices are somewhat lower than in Rio or other Brazilian cities.
If bars, clubs and saunas are not your thing but you still want to grab a male escort, then simply head over to Avenida Beira Mar, where what seems at first glance to be a cruising scene can actually be a hot and heavy rent boy scene.
One quick note while Fortaleza is a very safe city, there have been some reports of rip-off artist rent boys slipping drugged drinks to tourists to rob them. In general, the way to avoid this is to never accept a drink from a potential rent boy (why would he be buying you a drink anyway?) and to keep your glass in your hands at all times. If the guy asks to share a drink with you, assume he's trying to rip you off and move on to another boy.
    Other Fun Fortaleza Activities
When in Fortaleza you'll spend 80 percent of your time either at the beach or cruising for guys. This city is sex central, so why not? Still, there are some other things to do and we'd be remiss if we didn't pass them on.
Fortaleza offers one of the most spectacular sunsets in Brazil. The best place to see it is the entertainingly named Ponte Metallica. (Yes, with the exception of Ride The Rentboy the exact T-shirts you are envisioning in your mind right now are on sale there.)
The History Train at Banco de Norteste is a good tourist ride that will tell you interesting stories about Fortaleza, including one about one of the old Emperors having a long-term gay lover affair. It's not to be missed.
The Museu de Arte e Cultura Popula is a cultural museum set in an old prison that offers you interesting examples of traditional Fortaleza craft culture. It's a good place to buy souvenirs for your mom.
If you want to see some local culture, head over to the Theatro José de Alenca. This theater is not only an architectural marvel; it has interesting shows every hour on the hour, so you can head over and have something to see while killing time before hitting the many bars and clubs.
Get Ready To Go Down In Fortaleza!
There you go the ho-down and lowdown on Fortaleza, Brazil. Come on over to this amazing city in the paradise that is gay Brazil!
