Beautiful photos emitting a serene environment. One of my friends is in Rio right now, his third trip, and I think a very, very wonderful one for him. He's done hang gliding and lots of other valid activities as well. Yesterday his private carioca guide took him to the largest favela in Rio. I was there twice but with a small group each time. Think his 1-1 adventure would make for a more interesting venture. I'm living vicariously through his fabulous photos which he's been posting on his Facebook page. ...was suppose to have been in Rio for almost two weeks but decided against it since I will be in parts of Europe beginning next month. My first stop will be Berlin {solo} for five days prior to my joining a tour group to venture onward east! This trip will end in my experiencing Barcelona. Right now it has hit me, and I look forward to it. Hope to get back to Brasil in 2014 after those special games.... Again, thanks for sharing!

The trip has been arranged: air, apartment and independent travel in Berlin for 5 days before joining tour group for Warsaw, Crakow, Prague, Budapest for almost three weeks; then it's Barcelona for 5 days: booked apartment two days ago. I am now very, very, very excited. This time I just very hope that NOTHING prevents me from this twice delayed journey!!

I plan to be in Barcelona from 10 October until the 15th, and I, too, am "very eager to enjoy the treats...!"

I hope to be in Prague during the latter part of September. Would most, most appreciate your writing something about your trip before the 15 of September. That's the day that I leave on my trip; I will only have a cell phone with me and little to no access to the internet; I don't own a lap top or ipad! Advance thanks!

Yes, muito obrigado, Lurker. These updates are always welcome, and in terms of Meio Mundo, after two other saunas died, of the three left, my choices have been (1) Meio Mundo (2) Club 117. After two disappointing times at Point 202 in 2008, I stopped going! Didn't go in 2010 or 2011!!!!!

Oz, thanks for this post. I think I went to this mall a few months after it had opened and was surprised by its initial ambience, its architecture and design, and all the offerings. It even has one or two or more supermarkets. I truly enjoyed going into this one and just browsing and noting how the merchandise/food stuffs, etc...were displayed!!!

I, too, hope that Tom returns soon because he gave valuable information to all of us who've traveled to Brasil, and for me, salient data regarding our interests for parts of Europe and the US as well. I hope to be traveling to parts of Eastern Europe in September on a postponed trip; Tom gave me additional information for a contact in Prague, a guy who's written to me in the past, an escort I am eager to meet when I am there in September. Tom posted some great pics of guys as well. When he decides to return here, I do hope that he'll resume doing what he's done oh, so well previously! I, for one, has missed his visuals as well as his words here! Along with Lucky and others, I wish him well in "his health," "happiness," and his "continued travels, which I hope to hear all about"-- too!

I went to the site of this particular hospital a few nights ago to read about what surgery I've like to have done. Also, this particular hospital and the services provided was on "60 Minutes" a year or more ago! But, that's for the update/heads-up! GET WELL SOON, too!

"They do need some cost of living increase." I strongly concur. Rates go up all over the world, and one should adapt if he desires to enjoy himself while traveling. Then contrasted with the rates that the guys charge in the Northern Hemisphere,R$100 is not bad at all. These young men have to live. {I've given the sauna boys from R$50 - R$100, nothing higher or lower.}
