  1. You did not have to post! Read and go onward, my fellow BT member! Others here are perhaps interested in JB!
  2. Obrigado! At your own pace-- continue your reports, por favor!
  3. My first visit to Rio was in October of 2002--. I visited all of the saunas and gave the sauna guys their requested fee, which at the time was R$50.00, a decent sum during that time. It remained that for a few years. In 2011, my last visit of some ten previous ones, I never over or under paid the requested fee but on several occasions managed to render a small gratuity, for the experiences were "over-the-top!" My only concern during these 17 years has been about how some guys (non locals, tourists) have tried to get a sauna guy to lower his fee from the base price charged of non locals. That's when I've requested that they know the exchange rate and proceed honestly. Remember in many countries-- there is the local fee and the visitor's fee. Recently, I was in Habana, Cuba, there's a local rate for taxis and a tourist's rate, the same in Thailand and other places in this world of ours. So, would it be wonderful if this topic were put to bed, once and for all, unless something truly usual transpired to force its being brought up again?
  4. Two escorts sites which I previously used are no longer in operation, but when they were, I used them in both Rio and Sao Paulo and had a positive and wonderful experience. Hope the ones which are previously posted are as legit and wonderful as the two that I used and whose names I've, unfortunately, forgotten are as beneficial. "Go for it!" Please report back, por favor!
  5. In regard to some of your queries, I'd suggest you peruse www.gaycities.com and www.tripadvisor.com regarding restaurants and other facets in terms of "the bests." Unfortunately at the former website, some of the information regarding Rio de janeiro is not current today. Go to the Leblon Shopping Center; it opened in 2011, and although I made no purchases-- I found the decor and displays to be rather unique; the center itself is well-designed and quite aesthetically pleasing! Take in lunch or brunch at the Copa Palace. I, myself, have not experienced, but I've had friends who loved the experience. There's a restaurant in Santa Teresa which is wonderful; unfortunately, its name escapes me, but I went in 2011 after seeing it on Samantha's Travels from the Travel Channel. Lastly, if you're going to Brasil for a variety of reasons-- I'd do Sao Paulo for at least 3 days. It's Brasil's business hub, quite large, and is different from Rio. If you want a guide for culture-- try to engage the services of Danilo, a gay guide who's in the tourist sector and who now does NOT assist in the sauna scene with tourists but might offer some advice if asked discreetly. PM me if you desire his contact information.
  6. Damn, he looks mighty delicious and supremely succulent all over! I'm ready to indulge as well as oblige!
  7. I've been fortunate to have traveled to all of the places you've mentioned except for Colombia. From what others have cited in the preceding posts and from what you wrote about yourself, I'd go for Brazil for my first South American experience. Go for its culture, its vast beauty, and its innumerable beautiful men throughout. As far as costs go, Brasil's economy has tanked; thus the prices for hotels, apartments, etc. have decreased since the Olympics. Do lots of reading here as well as on the net; obtain guide books prior to your travel. Try to read what's here as well as what's available at http://www.daddysreviews.com, and you should be fine with having selected Brazil. Ask us questions, too, but try to read prior to asking. Many men have posted solid guidelines. Lastly, remember one guy's sexual experiences with escorts might be completely different from yours: chemistry.
  8. ...nice read! What is "Yakisaba?" ...and I, too, love the Jardim Botanical. When I first went in 2002 by myself, I did not have a memorable experience, but in 2011, my traveling partner and I ventured there; it was "Children's Day." I truly liked listening and viewing the families who were there in honor of their children. All seemed to be enjoying themselves immensely. My amigo and I did, for we meandered throughout; I liked the fact that in spite of there being a lot of folks, the gardens still seemed rather quiet and soothing!
  9. Ah, Rio during Carnaval. I keenly remember 2003 when my friend and I went. ...do hope to go back one of these days to re-experience at a slower pace. Try Marius for seafood; it's one of those all you can eat and is adjacent to its "meat" facility. ...liked very much which I last went in 2007 or '08! Damn-- 17 years into the 21st century. This venue is located directly east of Copa. One day I left my hotel and walked to Avenida Atlantica/o (??) turned east and walked until I reached it. My lunch experience was wonderful. ...would recommend other places but can't easily relocate my great guide books. {Ask for recommendations from hotel desk folks or from your concierage if the hotel has one.) ...loved Bahia as well. ...had great times there. [Before leaving Rio, you might want to take in THE PLATAFORMA, an extravaganza in music and dance highlighting the history of Rio/Brasil. ...gorgeous eye candy. I've gone three times. Have your meal elsewhere, though before going to this performance! ]
  10. Tidewater, I like your name here as well as reading your report. Brasil, but especially Rio de janeiro, will always have a very warm spot in my heart. I found the city to be extraordinarily beautiful, even some of the favelas from afar. The people I've always admired in terms of their helpfulness and basic decorum and... ...love the culture. ...hope to return one of these days if I am not traveling elsewhere. ...can only do one or two international trips per year during retirement.
  11. I'm thinking you have met "the one" and perhaps settle down? ...will marriage be in the making for the future, perhaps?
  12. I hope to be in Cuba next month for almost a month. ...am going for the culture but am also seeking out male-to-male play! If it happens, I'll report back. ...will be staying in casa particulares, but when I am in Habana for four days, I've rented an apartment via www.airbnb.com. The cost was (already paid when booked) $38 per night. ...good reviews and few "House Rules." But, if you happen to rent this particular property, don't plan to have a party or any orgies or group gang bangs.
  13. "Me giving you my experience does ot mean you will have the same one..." "I still don't get the whole hearing experience thing like you will have the mirror experience..." PRECISELY! It's called "chemistry!"
  14. Ola, I'm rereading posts on here about Cuba because I hope to be there next month for some almost 24 days/nights.  ...will be in Habana for four days before joining a group.  We return to Habana for 3 or 4 days prior to going elsewhere before the end of the trip.  My query for you is: do you speak Espanol?  I don't and find it difficult to converse in Ingles to a non Ingles speaker.  Might get an electronic voice translator.

Did you ever write about your experiences other than what you wrote?  I'd be pleased with a response before 1 March.  Gracias!

  15. Fuck, the description of Fernando sounds highly enticing indeed! Sorry that is all that I can render here!
  16. Booking.com messages are valid. I've used its services and offering for the past four or five years and am now getting "bonus" rates for most properties in which I've booked while staying in San Francisco. I also used this service when I booked a pousada in Paraty in 2011, a lovely and good-priced property indeed!
  17. If one is a solo traveler to Buzios or to Paraty-- I was told by my late, gay Brasilian travel agent that one would have a much better time traveling with a friend or friends or relatives, and if you wanted a sexual liaison-- bring a "boy" with you. When he sponsored a small weekend gathering in Paraty a few years back, five guys from Sao Paulo, his assistant and I went to a gay bar on a Saturday night. This venue did not get started until very, very late or early a.m. I left the small group and returned to the pousada where we were staying and joined them the next day for some beach/water fun. None of us ever hooked up with any "trade" or garotos! So, when one ventures beyond the major hubs, I would NOT expect there to be too many guys for sex or any saunas!
  18. likeohmygod wrote that you and others send him a private to request the name of the hotel; otherwise, you and others will not know until after he'd undergone his stay at this particular venue.
  19. My good friend and I along with his carioca bud went to Paraty via bus about six years ago. The three of us went to the main bus station a day ahead and purchased our tickets, the good seats. ...don't remember the cost, but whatever the price, we could afford, and it was worth it. We had seats in the very front of the bus to and from and had a wonderful journey. The day before our departure, our carioca amigo purchased the three tickets for us since he spoke Brasilian Portuguese, and in lookin' back, I'd do it again. As an aside--the buses were on time, and the ride itself was of the utmost comfort! ...stayed in a great pousada for 3 or 4 days which I booked for us through http://www.booking.com. The lodging itself was about five or six or more blocks from the town center and was attractive, quiet, and highly pleasant. Strangely enough, my friend's friend "got it on" with a guy who manned the reception!
  20. When I first went to Rio first in 2002 and last in 2011 (11 visits total during those early 2000s), I went to Point 202. During the latter years, 2010, 2011-- the place had changed tremendously by having few sauna guys. If I make it back-- I will NOT go to this sauna but to Meio Mundo as well as Club 117, both wonderful in various and sundry ways! But for sure, they have the boys! My one experience at Thermas Sauna in Barcelona was NOT positive; thus I'd just say that the Brasilian saunas from Rio to Curitiba are far superior. ...completely different vibe. Go to Rio and experience first hand; then you, yourself can make your own analysis! Have a wonderful trip, and if you don't mind, report back here for us! Obrigado!
  21. ...like your spirit. Remember always to let "your big head" guide you, for you do not want to become too enamored or overwhelmed and have some negative experiences transpire. Always have valuables out of sight in spite of your trusting your companion. Enjoy and make the better of your trip. I, for one, who've had the good fortune of traveling to Brasil and to some of its major cities (11Xs)--last six years ago will look forward to a detailed narrative once you return home. Or, if you plan to post while you're there, that, too, would be mighty fine!
  22. ...have been to BsAs six times, the last being in 2011. ...used escorts from http://www.soytuyo.com and http://www.ratonesonline.com. To date the ads have changed; thus I can't recommend. ...rates were a little more since I am a foreigner and can't speak Argentinean Es spanol, but I still had fun with the guys. I received my best fuck in my life from a guy who advertised at the first site here; we've since lost touch. Check out http://www.gaycities.com to see what fresh info. is there. I love the portenos for their handsomeness, sexiness, sensuality, and big, uncut cocks. The times that I connected were more positive and satisfying than NOT! ...had 2 bummers; the rest memorable!
  23. I just sent you a pvt. message. Take care!
  24. Tom, I appreciate your assessment of the post that I placed here yesterday. I'd be quite ok if the webmaster were to delete it in its entirety, for the website seemed plausible with its offering that were posted in its guide to gay men while in Rio. From what you stated, I would NOT be interested in going to any of the bar venues. I don't know how to delete an entire post!
  25. Before I step out of my abode for brunch, etc., I decided to seek out a listing of gay bars in Rio de janeiro, for I might be going back (for the 12th time) next August and because it's been requested previously but without a lot of valid information. Well, here's the website: http://www.vamosgay.com/latin-america/brazil/rio-de-janeiro/gay-bars-clubs-of-rio-de-janeiro/ From the looks of the website--all who aspire to go to some fun places filled with "gorgeous guys" and company and ambience--this is one hell of a site to consult. Hope it helps, guys!
