How about Phylis Diller? http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_u6Nx5h7yEAg/Sx4_E-k4vmI/AAAAAAAABTo/vKEEd0ywFis/s400/phyllis_diller.jpg (Will a pic actually show up???)
  5. For some time now this site has allowed us to bitch about things that bother us elsewhere on the internet, but bitching can only get you so far. We have heard the criticism that some of us only drop in now and then, when it suits our purposes. And it's true, we often come and go. One criticism of MER is that threads die too soon, and that it is hard to get and keep a conversation going. So, my August Challenge is for a group to commit to sticking with the site all through August, trying to keep those conversations going, but of course also to start some. You may not be able to stop in everyday, but the commitment will be to the best you can to do that, and don't just drop in, but drop a post to keep the ball rolling. Now, I wouldn't have issued this challenge if I didn't think some folks would accept it, so don't leave me with my balls hanging, okay? Take the challenge and have some fun. Remember, no bitching!

    Smoking

I detest cigarettes. After smoking for 19 years, I went to the Schick Clinic for adversion therapy. They put me in a tiny room where every night for five nights I had to smoke myself to death. Hotboxing it, etc. There was a mirror in front of me, so I could see what I looked like, face red, nose running. A little electric shock on my hand every time I lifted the fag. The walls were covered with cigarette ads, showing glamorous people in Salem settings and hot Marlboro men. Look in the mirror, they said. Is that what you look like? Well, hell,no. The ashtray hadn't been emptied for days. At the end, they gave me a cigarette and said that if I smoked it all the way down, they would refund my money-$500. This is in 1980 when that was some money. I didn't smoke it, and never smoked again. 28 years later, how much have I saved? Cigs were $6.10 a carton then...and I smoked 30 cigarettes a day.
  7. On July 16th (before the shutdown), I informed Daddy that I was leaving the site following a serious difference of opinion with him. He has, in fact, removed my name from the community roster, but is having his little joke by placing "Time-Out" on all of the posts I have written. LOL It's a shame that after 10 years and almost 12,000 posts that I have to leave Hooville because of Daddy. I visited him in Seattle and twice invited him to the Palm Springs Hooville Weekend so he could get to know the posters. We learned then that "thank-you" was something that did not come naturally to him, so I guess that I am not so surprised. And to think all he had to do was honor my request not to be a monitor. Admin Note: First names were removed as it is against policy. They were replaced with a Monkier. All other information is the same.
  8. The forum at Daddy's Review is now open. I wonder how many people, offended at the high-handed way that they have been treated, will stay away from there for forever or a period of time. I know, that I,for one, will stay away. The lack of respect Daddy has for his own members is legendary. He doesn't think much more of his visitors or suppliers nor much more of his moderators. Until a change can be made in the leadership of that Forum that will revamp the whole place, and will show an interest in what the posters are actually saying and doing, I Cannot return. Oz, please buy the site as quickly as possible!
  9. You know that you are getting old when you repeat yourself....
  10. Stir up some shit? How about some interesting conversation? Or some funny pix...where IS that lookin guy?
  11. On another site I am familiar with, I just copy the pic and it shows up on that site when I hit control/v. But that doesn't work here. I wanted to share the pic of my favorite Cam4 guy...here is the link for anyone who can do that: http://content.codelnet.com/0/cam4/1967306.200x150.profile Maybe this will work: http://www.cam4.com/profiles/pp.jsp?userId=1186380&id=1967306 The guy is Saantiaagoo from Colombia.
  12. Say, Totally Oz, you appear to be replying to someone, but there is no post showing. hehehe, just kidding One Finger, but that's what it might be like with the ignore feature.
  13. Four Aces has hardly been the one to keep the fires burning here. Before this, he last posted on April 3d, one post. Before that it was November 13th, 1 post. And, before that, it was October 20th. So, in the last NINE months, he posted TWICE before this rant about those who's "lack of participation here is well noted." Just saying, not that I want him to post more!
  14. Kudos to lurkerspeaks for his efforts to get some posting going here. Ralph Woods never had it so good!
  15. One Finger: deej has removed the language he inserted at the top of the Comedy & Tragedy Forum announcing its closure. I do thank OZ and Tampa Yankee for allowing us to use this forum to update events over at Daddys. I know that the hope is that those who come over here will stick around, and I hope that they do. One thing you get to see here are hard dicks and cum spots on the faces of cute young men- over 18, of course. How long the closure of the forums at Daddys will last is something I am not privy to. Perhaps he went on a round the world cruise with those donations he received. Now, when I say around the world, I mean the kind of trip you take with an escort, in the bedrooom! If all else fails, there's the Ding Song Song!
  16. I agree with the concept that moderators should keep the discussions they have in the moderators forum private. You can't post freely there if you think that whatever you say is going to be revealed in the forums. There is no blood oath...or sperm oath for that matter. It would appear that the message center was shut down to do the beta testing on the new format. I was not informed of the reason, so if it is because a vacation was needed, well, Daddy and deej are entitled to time off, except that deej seems to be spending his vacation shutting down the Arts Forum. It was asked earlier what moderators do. For me, in the Arts Forum, in 4 months I deleted a thread, moved a thread to another forum, and consolidated two posts into one since they asked the same question. That part of the job was a breeze!
  17. manticore, I am sure that there are others who are "pretty much through" with daddy's. But that isn't the same as being through. Besides all of the contretemps that occur, many fine people post there, and it is hard to leave them. It's true that I don't and didn't want to be a moderator.Being a moderator takes a diplomatic temperament, which is one reason why Cooper is so good at it. But I also had no desire to be part of management. I can handle being the moderator of one small forum (now closed temporarily by deej: Closed temporarily This forum was created contingent on having a moderator. That moderator has repeatedly quit. We're evaluating options. * But, I didn't like being in the moderator forum itself, where I found myself being more of the advocate my lawyerly training made me than being part of the daddy and deej chorus. That didn't sit well with them, and thus it was just a pain for me. Think what you wish. I didn't post there for ten years just to make trouble. I felt that I contributed to the site and I enjoyed being Lucky. But Lucky wasn't cut out to be a moderator.
  18. LOL- If I saved matrix's nearest and dearest from a raging fire, he still wouldn't have anything good to say about me. Moderators and managers on either site are going to have differences of opinion. It's the normal course of business. The owner of the site ultimately gets to do whatever he wants.
  19. Good luck with the event. Sorry that I cannot join you this year.
  20. Prenuptial Proposal I offer nothing but this that I am not ease of life unless resting in a faithful heart is ease not luxury unless knowing that you are completely, unconditionally loved is luxurious Not adventure unless an opening of souls with nothing held back seems adventurous A home with no walls not even a roof to keep you in only windows that you may see this that I am a shelter a welcome mat a jar of fresh, pure water.
  21. Maybe we could do some matchups: Draker and Lucky, Townsend and Scott Adler, Adam Smith and Stu Cotts, Oz and Daddy...
  22. It was very embarrassing when you kept calling me Draker. We look nothing alike!
  23. I hope that this isn't another one of your twink finds!
  24. What? You follow the other site?
