Young pop star Justin Bieber should fall right to sleep after his busy days, but no, he tells Vanity Fair, he suffers from insomnia. Surely there are many teen girls who would sing a lullaby- he should go for it- over the phone, of course. From NY Times, via AP, via Vanity Fair: While many girls dream about Justin Bieber at night, the singing sensation is struggling to fall asleep. The 16-year-old tells Vanity Fair magazine that sometimes he suffers from insomnia. Bieber says his "mind races" at night and it happens because he begins to "think about all the things I didn't have time to think about during the day — like family and God." Bieber says he doesn't always have time to think about these important things because "you just get caught up (in everything else) during the day." Bieber's multiplatinum-selling album, "My World 2.0," is up for a Grammy for best pop vocal album; he's also up for best new artist. The February issue of Vanity Fair hits newsstands in New York and Los Angeles on Jan. 6 and nationally on Jan. 11.

I liked the guys on the British TV show SKINS, but I could never understand what they were saying. Now an American version is coming to MTV on January 17th, with the prospect of lots of bare skin in HD! http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/04/arts/television/04skins.html?hpw

From blogger Andy Towle we learn that "Tom Gene Daniels, a California pastor who supported Proposition 8 is facing six felony counts of child molestation and lewd or lascivious act with a child under 14. The Modesto Bee reports: "Citrus Heights police said that Daniels was arrested Dec. 9. Daniels has been employed as a foster parent and day care provider, and currently is the head pastor at Rio Linda Baptist Church." The board of his church is standing by him: "'Until such time as the courts prove Pastor Tom Daniels guilty, we have an obligation to support him and his family,' said the statement. The statement also said that accusations such as those facing Daniels need to be tried in the court and not the media." Daniels bail is set at $6 million. So does this information from tripadvisor avoid the AOT car service? Public taxis are the most popular way to get into town. Ignore all touts in the airport terminal offering taxi services. Outside the arrival building on the first floor (one floor down from arrivals) you’ll see a “Public Taxi” desk. (Note that this location is correct as at November 22, 2009). Taxis vary from some older vehicles to very new ones, and some van-type taxis ideal for 3-4 people with lots of bags. All taxis run on natural gas and most of the boot (trunk) is taken up with the NG tank. Tell the supervisor your destination. He will give you a slip of white paper. Hold onto it, do not give it to the driver, as it has instructions on what to do in the unlikely event of any problem. When you get into the taxi, make sure the meter is on and showing 35 baht. On arrival at your hotel, you’ll have to pay the fare on the meter, plus an airport surcharge of 50 baht that is not shown on the meter. In addition there are expressway tolls of 70 baht for most city centre destinations. Typical cost: THB250 to THB400 depending on distance, average seems to be around 300-350 baht. Average Time: About 30 to 45 minutes depending on distance and traffic/road conditions. (My hotel says the fare should be 500 baht.)

It's rare to wake up to 34 degrees in the desert, but that's what it is today. More colds likely to follow. Even New York is warmer this morning.

Wednesday before Christmas and I start coughing, and now it is New year's Day and the cold still hasn't gone away. Right after Christmas the bf caught it, and he still has it. You'd think mother nature would know that I have things to do. (And I can't even spell holiday!)

Oz is probably still asleep after all that.
-
You are welcome, Oz. It was a pleasure. I look forward to a new name and a new year for MER.
-
I saw the preview for it on another Netflix movie I rented, so I put it on my list. The movie I saw was Clapham Junction, and I hated it. It seemed to portray gay life as negatively as it could.

Here is Oz's post renaming the forum. This is all there is to it, no more, no less. Posted 10 August 2010 - 07:01 AM TY and I wanted to give a shout out to Lucky for the August Challenge and his encouragement to others to post. We have named the Pub in his honor for the remainder of 2010. We are lucky to have him on the site! Now, the future remains in front of us, and I am going to focus on that. Happy New Year all.

Well, I am the one who encouraged lots of comments on this topic, so I take what came and now it's time for management to make its decision.I recommended Hooboy's Place but am not sworn to it. What we all want is something that goes well with the spirit of the site, and I don't doubt that we will get a name that everyone can live with. I have enjoyed having the forum named after me, but I understood all along that it was temporary. Whatever the name of the forum, I hope there is always a place here for Lucky.
