  1. The subject came up earlier this year. Truvada was not looking so good then, so it becomes a matter of which study you want to believe. Here are the posts from the earlier discussion: Posted 01 March 2011 - 08:55 AM Remember last year when Truvada was being touted as a breakthrough in AIDS prevention? Reality has now hit home: "Three months later, the advance has hit a wall. While study findings show the drug prevents HIV in noninfected, sexually active gay men, doctors say they're wary about giving healthy people a $12,000-a-year medicine that has side effects including nausea and kidney damage, and may not be used as regularly as needed. They also say they're not often asked to make the drug available for that use." Says Martin Markowitz, clinical director of the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center in New York City. "People who can't use a condom, are they likely to take a pill every day?" he asked. "And in the real world, who will pay?" 2. "Summer offers many other opportunities for fun, but keeping things going here would only take minutes a day if everyone saw it as a fun part of their day to post on the board. Those who do so are to be thanked." SINCE YOU ARE ON OF THOSE WHO DO SO, WE THANK YOU.
  3. Oz, I have no doubt that you are. If posting on the site were mandatory for each of your boyfriends, why we would never finish reading the new material! (Hey, just kidding there!) But, other than that, new ideas seem hard to come by. The other site is quite a bore at the moment as their members take some time off for summer fun too. Perhaps we can get some popular escorts and porn stars to donate their cum-filled underwear to the person who makes the most posts in one day.
  4. I don't see it as a problem. He's a horny old man in contact with young studs daily as part of his job. Wouldn't you find it hard to resist making an overture to someone who seemed receptive to such things? I would.
  5. It seems to be something that we cannot change, so we accept it. Last year's August Challenge made some difference. I'll let someone else take the lead on that this year if he so wishes. But it is disconcerting to come here each day and see that the new posts have just dribbled in. Summer offers many other opportunities for fun, but keeping things going here would only take minutes a day if everyone saw it as a fun part of their day to post on the board. Those who do so are to be thanked. Having said all that, where is zipperzone, or FourAces? We got Adam Smith back after an absence. Somehow we need to find out why people stop posting. We also have to do more to encourage new posters to stick around. I haven't checked the records, but the "boys" are not posting so much either. Bibottomboy and Beach Boy- please check in more often! Now back to your summer fun.
  6. Rather than commending the good father, authorities have arrested him for paying a young man to make his hard, throbbing cock available to the priest's mouth...on more than one occasion. The priest is a chaplain, and his paramour is an inmate. Does it get kinkier than that? (No doubt the priest was paying the young man for his time only. He was doing time, you see.) A Queens chaplain was nabbed trying to pay an inmate for a most unholy act. Frank DeTucci, 70, had $200 in his shoe and another $153 in his wallet when a guard at the Queensboro Correctional Facility spotted him kneeling Sunday in front of the prisoner, officials say. When questioned, DeTucci admitted that on July 5 he paid the same inmate $120 and $150 on two separate occasions to perform oral sex on him in the chaplain's office at the minimum-security Long Island City facility. DeTucci has been a chaplain for the state correctional system for 27 years and is a deacon at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Astoria. A church spokeswoman said he would be placed on administrative leave as soon as notified. DeTucci faces up to four years in prison on charges that include official misconduct, engaging in a criminal sex act and sexual misconduct. 7. Try putting back something that says "Made in China." Your dog will go pretty hungry. But he might live longer! I like the Mexican Coke too, and I don't believe for a minute that the Mexican authorities would allow ammonia to be used in it. It's only in this country that the FDA looks the other way when fraud is being committed on the consumer. Well, isn't it?
  8. Hey, gcursor, my dogs will do that too, but they don't need ice cream as an incentive!
  9. What a miserable week in the desert. Not only hot temperatures, but sticky hot. They always say it's a "dry heat" as though that makes it cooler, but I do prefer a dry heat to a humid and sticky week. The other day it was 55% humidity here, and only 45% in New York. We stay inside, but it's still sticky. Maybe I should move to Phoenix?
  10. Now what is missing here is a mini-review of what it was like to be in the midst of the storm. Were you there, lurkerspeaks, and, if so, how did it feel to experience this? Is the aftermath a bunch of dirt everywhere?

    The last 3 movies

This thread is one of the reasons I find these sites valuable. We get the opinion of others on things that are of interest to us. I don't always agree, but I like seeing the opinion. I do agree with Lurkerspeaks that a mini-review would be helpful. Green Lantern did not work for me although I am a big Ryan Reynolds fan. I don't watch many movies, but I like to know what the good ones are in case I have time on my hands or think I might miss something worthwhile. On another review subject, I saw 4 shows in New York. I guess this is as good a place as any to stick my mini-reviews; Priscilla, Queen of the Desert: A second visit for me, we went to the box office an hour ahead of showtime with a discount coupon and got house seats- fifth row center. Given how much Nick Adams likes showing off his hot body, being this close was an added bonus. His body is a work of art, in drag or not. The show was a lot of fun- good music, costumes, and charm in the story. Unnatural Acts is a play off-Broadway about a 1920 witch hunt of homosexuals at Harvard. It is based on a true story, and the cast gives it their all. Again, I had a great seat in the front row, just feet from where the cutest guy in the show stripped naked. But beyond that, the show is very thought provoking about historic bigotry, and the pressures it put on gay people to both live as gay men and hide the fact. One Arm is based upon a Tennessee Williams short story about a male hustler who has lost his arm in an auto accident. The staging is brilliant, and the main actor just phenomenal in a very tough role. The show closed last weekend. Again, I had a first row seat. Finally, the new musical Death Takes A Holiday, a Roundabout Theater production. The opening number had me thinking I had made a huge mistake. I started thinking of all of the other shows I could have chosen. But about ten minutes in, the Death character appears, and the show takes off in a very engaging and fun production. Matt Cavanaugh is in the cast. My seat was just okay!
  12. I googled Hotwire Complaints and found tons of pages of stories of unhappy people. Priceline may have its faults, but they have never screwed me like Hotwire did this week. But, I am off on vacation so hopefully some of the lurkers will fill in for me while I am gone!
  13. Here's the story: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2011/06/26/international/i151702D16.DTL&tsp=1
  14. My email to Hotwire was answered by a form letter. I responded to that, but they chose to ignore me. Life is full of live and learn lessons, and this is one. Don't use Hotwire again! I think it will be quite easy for me to keep that one. Once they have your nonrefundable payment, they don't care what you think. Signed, PT Barnum's prodigy.
  15. There's the rub. A full-size bed is fine for a man traveling alone, so Hotwire would work for you.
  16. Can someone tell me why Firefox updates so often? Once it updated two days in a row. And it seems to get worse with each update. I remember thinking what an improvement it was over Internet Explorer, but now I might just go back to that. I have Chrome too, but it has far more ads than Firefox. BTW, the new Firefox 5.0 is incompatible with the Google toolbar. How's that for looking out for number one?
  17. They claim the room will comfortably sleep two travelers, which makes it a one size fits all claim. No adjustment is made for size or whether the people in question even want to sleep in the same bed. Most hotels today offer large beds, usually two, or a king size bed. To have to pay extra just to be comfortable in the room defeats the purpose. Hotwire should be upfront about what they are selling, but then they might not sell many rooms. The one hotel that asked me to pay an extra $75 a night for a king size bed has reduced their price to $50 a night. So I need to cough up an extra $300 over what I paid Hotwire.
  18. 1:30 in New York is !:30 in the afternoon in Thailand. You don't suppose Oz had all of his boyfriends sign on at once, do you?
  19. **and trying to post something that might spark some interation, which it appears I have.." Now that's a man after my own heart!
  20. Apologies to OneFinger who beat me to the story. If I had seen his, I would have known that no one would be responding to mine! http://www.maleescortreview.com/forum/index.php?/topic/7203-nj-prof-accused-of-running-prostitution-site/
  21. And to think I missed the party!

  24. Maybe I should have known better from renting cars at Hotwire. I always got the worst cars. But I just used them for the first time to get hotels on my upcoming New York trip. They don't tell you this up front, but from what I can see, it is a huge bait and switch operation. If you are traveling by yourself, it may be just fine. But two guys together? Where in today's hotel scene do you find full sized beds? But that's what Hotwire gets you. Then if you want to be comfortable, you have to pay big charges to upgrade. One hotel wants $75 a night more for a king-sized bed. The other hotel wants $50 a night extra for two beds. I have never had this problem with Priceline hotels. The other issue is that the hotels are places I have never heard of despite lots of experience with New York. Hotwire claims they will be putting you in hotels like the Hilton or similar, but the fine print leaves them an out, and they were sure rapid in taking that out with me.
  25. Here is a thread that is completely new to me, but is almost a year old. I had no idea this feature existed, so I guess it was a good idea to resurrect it. On the other hand, after one year you should know if the feature has been a successful as hoped...has it? BTW- Having met Oz, I can say that he is completely legit! I've met several other posters too. Should I verify that they are completely legit?
