  1. Le Meridien has a great breakfast, as does the W. The fantastic breakfasts are one of my reasons for going to Thailand.
  2. Is there a picture missing?
  3. The best fucking shows are the ones in your hotel room. Bangkok still has those!
  4. My last trip to Thailand was one of my best even though I barely visited the bars and the saunas.

    Nice Boys

    No, just the "krap."
  6. In his infinite wisdom, I note that GayGuides owner Totally Oz has shortened the St. Patrick Day celebrations. Normally a 24 hour event, Oz today is limiting it to a few hours in the morning: St Patrick’s Day 2024 17 March 2024 7:00 AM Until 9:55 AM This should put the emphasis on going to church rather than getting drunk. Future holiday shortenings are being considered.
  7. I spent a few nights in Hua Hin last January. I liked my hotel- the Marriott- and enjoyed the night markets. But gay? I saw nothing gay about Hua Hin.
  8. I have watched his TV specials. Once you get past his looks, there isn't much comedy there. If it's his looks you want to see, avoid the Hollywood Bowl unless you can score tickets in the first couple of rows. A more intimate venue might be fun.
  9. There is no evidence of judicial misbehavior, bad instructions, incensed judge and jury, or really any wrongdoing. If it should come out, then the defendant has grounds for appeal. But right now your view is pure cynicism.

  11. I have been impressed with the actions and attitude of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. At 62, he is the right age for a presidential run...not that he has shown any interest. It would take a Biden withdrawal from the race to open it to new candidates and people wonder who could impress the electorate since Kamala Harris falls short in that respect. I like Pete Buttigieg too, but don't think he has the chance that Blinken might have. Blinken has featured much more prominently in the news and, in my opinion, created a good impression. Not sure if he has any political ambitions.
  12. Taipei struck me as having a shortage of gays. I warmed to it slowly, finally realizing that I liked the area around Taipei 101 best. If I had it to do over again, I would stay at the Hyatt Regency across the street. I got a massage- the only gay thing I did. The Red House didn't strike me as a gay area.
  13. My husband was frequently mistaken for Thai. Beyond that, most service people directed their questions at him, and gave the bill to him instead of me. He's Chinese.
  14. Sorry for duplication. The Submit Reply button was malfunctioning.
  15. I stayed 8 nights at Le Meridien beginning with NY Eve. I started referring to it as Gay Meridien since it was overwhelmingly gay for the New Year. As an elite Marriott Bonvoy member, I was comped dinner for NY Eve and also given access to the Executive Lounge where they put out food at lunch and dinnertime. Referred to as "snacks" and "hors d'oeuvres' you could make a meal out of them and we did- several times! I stayed the last three nights at the Sukhothai for comparison and Gay Meridien wins out. Not to say that the latter hotel is bad, the staff were great and the room very nice. The buffet almost comparable to Gay Meridien. But the location is not friendly, or so I thought.

  17. @PeterRS is off the hook! The breakfast at the Courtyard was tops. In Bangkok, Le Meridien still has the best breakfast. I stayed at the Sukhothai a few nights and found their buffet breakfast to be good but not Le Meridien good.
  18. I did support the end of the Politics forum at the other site. Now it is argument free but I can't help but think that the overall intelligence level of the posts in other forums also declined.
  19. On my first visit to Thailand, I was 38. On my last visit, I am 76. My stamina was reduced, as was my libido, but I still had a great time in Bangkok. It was my first visit to Taipei and I liked it okay, especially the area round their skyscraper Taipei 101. I was shown so much respect. In both places. people volunteered their seats to me- yes, I look old!. It happened many times. And I went to massage parlors where I was treated with great respect and even admiration. Yes, the guys paid attention to my old body, but rather than criticize or avoid, I received admiration for my current shape and accolades for what they could see of my years of body building. I do look fit for a man my age,, having lost 50 pounds in the last two years. In Brazil in September at a sauna, a boy said to me with seemingly great sincerity "You are so handsome!" I immediately laughed, but in retrospect, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
  20. Once in NY's Chinatown I stopped at a street market selling t-shirts and bought several. The elderly lady took them over to her wrapping station while I looked at other items. She then presented me the shopping bag, tied tightly at the top. When I got back to the hotel, I realized that she had substituted inferior and unwanted shirts in the bag, probably the ones she couldn't sell. So now I get back from Bangkok and Taipei with my bags of goodies and usually wonder why I thought that they were worth buying. Indeed, 4 of the shirts I never bought. The old substitution game continues. Wise up, Lucky!
  21. I gave Foodland another chance last night. This time the cashew chicken had cashews, but the chicken was bad. I'm glad that others are having better luck.
  22. Can anyone speak about #10 at Hotmale? Easily the hottest guy I have seen doing sex work this visit. He seems to know it too. Now, back to the master, @vinapu.
