  1. Honey, we are in a contest! Trash-talking is the norm in these things. If I said that I loved you, folks might think we aren't serious about competing!
  2. I never thought I'd see the day!
  3. Formerly closeted airman Randy Phillips has taken to You Tube to help us all get in shape. Andy Towle says that Randy would someday like to open his own gym. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nP_S2bc1r7E And here is the video that went nationwide as soldier Randy asked his father if he still loved him after coming out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Hnrp73StWA
  4. One reason might be that he keeps finding just the right pictures. This tribute to DADT involves "His airman, my Marine." And ain't it a sweet one? Check out towleroad.com.
  5. And my favorite gay blogger, Andy Towle, is taken with this video, "a true New York experience" called never a dull moment on the new York subway. Take a look, cuz Andy is rarely wrong:
  6. Blogger kennethinthe212.com sure thinks so, as he posted this video of the young man singing the Sex Bomb song on the Australia Got talent show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-d-k85kvrQ
  7. America's leading Christian football player is now enshrined in his own stained glass window. Tim Tebow, know for tebowing, an exercise in prayer before playing in the sporting event know as football, has reached this hallowed status in Buffalo, New York, according to jimromenesko.com. Any similarities to the real Jesus are probably unintended:
  8. Bradford Wells and Anthony John Makk have been together for 19 years. They're married and live in the Castro, but have been living under the threat of separation because Wells is a U.S. citizen and Makk a citizen of Australia. That threat ended Wednesday, when they won a two-year stay of Makk's deportation. Congressperson Nancy Pelosi had intervened as Makk is seriously ill from AIDS, and Wells is his primary caregiver. 9. Yes, he's a Republican. One of those guys who support God and country. Yet he couldn't be bothered to obey the law banning the carrying on of guns onto airplanes in the U.S. Assemblyman Tim Donnelly, R-Twin Peaks, near San Bernadino, California, says he had tried to hide the gun from his wife, put it into a carry-on bag, then forgot it was there when he boarded a flight. This supporter of the sanctity of marriage would rather risk lives than tell the truth to his wife. The weapon was a Colt Mark IV .45 caliber handgun, with nine rounds. The TSA says the most common excuse in the 1200 guns seized each year is "Oh, I forgot." I hope voters forget to re-elect this creep.
  10. We've gone from an average weight of 160 to 185, according to those who really, really need to know what the average American weighs. The Coast Guard has been boarding ferries around the San Francisco Bay Area to see if they are in compliance with new federal weight regulations. The weight restrictions had not been reviewed since 1960. So, next time you super size those fries, think of your ferry boat sinking in the muddy waters just before you make it to shore! What recession?

For me, it only proves the point on the recession. Folks cannot afford to go out, so they stay home and watch stupid games on the telly.

    A Brave Young Man

My bad. I didn't realize that posting with cards was not unique.
  13. Lucky is pointing out the insincerity of the guy's desire to meet us.
  14. Yes, Virginia, EXPAT really did have those guys in his bed for Christmas.
  15. EXPAT, I don't think that is the gist of his question. Would you have him save money on a car over a bike if it killed him to ride the bike?

    Politics forum?

One Finger, I am sorry if Santa did not bring you what you wanted for Christmas. I don't know anywhere in the rules that says that certain posts are off limits. If I had started a thread wondering what happened to BewareofNick, would you have reacted so violently? It's much the same, in my opinion. Finally, as they say, if you don't like a thread, don't read it. did I force it on you? Same thing goes for the post on Barry. Is he here? Is he a moderator? If so, why do we never hear from him? See, MsGuy, I combined your protest with One Finger's in one post. My post count be damned!
  17. Axiom, are you saying that the summer is a really hot time?
  18. Word is that the flooding is now stopped and things have returned to normal- except for tourism, which still lags.

    CHINA, 2012

Not so true if you read today's newspaper. It is beginning to look like a real threat. And with those rascal scientists actually studying how to make it more deadly, it's just a matter of time before all become chicken(s). From TODAY's Wall Street Journal: Hong Kong Urges Bird-Flu Vigilance HONG KONG—Health authorities in Hong Kong are urging residents to take steps to ensure personal hygiene, and the city remains on high alert following the bird-flu-related death of a man in mainland China. Renewed fears in Hong Kong came as Chinese authorities said preliminary tests showed the Shenzhen man, who died Saturday and whose case was China's first reported human case of bird flu in 18 months, was infected with the deadly H5N1 strain of the virus—as was a dead bird found in Hong Kong's New Territories before the holidays. A spokesman for Hong Kong's Centre for Health Protection said Tuesday that the health department is in close contact with its Chinese counterpart and urged vigilance by people in Hong Kong to prevent new infections. On Saturday, the government suspended imports of live poultry and poultry products from parts of neighboring Shenzhen for three weeks in a bid to reduce the likelihood of an outbreak. Authorities said Tuesday that two more migratory birds discovered dead in Hong Kong were found to be infected with the bird flu, though further tests are needed to determine whether it was H5N1 or the less dangerous H5 strain. Bird flu, or avian influenza, remains a threat primarily to poultry, not humans. According to the World Health Organization, there is no evidence of the virus's passing to humans through properly cooked poultry or eggs. Most of the people who have been infected with H5N1 had contact with live birds or their droppings.

    Movies....

I think that Oz about summed it up. If, like me, you enjoy the novels, stick with them as the movie does not do it justice. A very slow start, but somewhat better at the end. I had some trouble telling who was who.
  22. Sadly, eastburbguy never got to see it. RIP.
  23. So, is Barry a moderator here or a guest? Or is he here at all?
