We once had a great trip on Eva Airlines to Asia in Business Class using Lifemiles. Never again could I find a Business Class trip that didn't require an outrageous amount of Lifemiles. Until today. R/T to Rio from LAX on Avianca for 135000 miles each. That works for me...except for a new twist. The trip takes 27 hours and stops in San Jose CR and Bogota with long layovers. If they made it easy to do stopovers I might consider that as I would avoid the layovers. But it's always been hard to do a stopover on a free Lifemiles trip, at least in my experience. Any advice?

@TotallyOzYour next trip? We never heard about the trip you said you were taking in December! Still thinking of moving? -

My impression of the scholars writing about bottoming have never actually had the experience. I wonder why they assume that "power bottoming" is a modern thing.

The problem continues. Some days I don't have any problem, then the same log-in that worked yesterday doesn't work the next day.

I also looked for the poll, but didn't want to go deep into the site. A flaw in the Costco link is that they did not give a date for the survey...or actually any other info. Take it with a grain of salt, but I'll bet that the Bangkok Chamber of Commerce is adding more than salt!

Nice people, the knowledge that I have gone somewhere different, the history, the art, the ambiance. These are my main reasons to go.

Is that your only criterion for a desirable destination?

The February Costco Connection magazine reports that a survey by TravelMedium.com gives Bangkok the award as the most popular tourist destination in the world! Now, I am a big fan of Bangkok, but I would think that Paris might top it. There definitely is a lot of competition. Of course, most people haven't gone anywhere lately!

So I went to gayguides.com to find a list of gay bars in New York City. Much to my surprise, there are none. At least that was the result of my search. I entered "bars" and "New York City." Shouldn't that have come up with a list?

I like the Windsor Miramar, but have never tried to bring in a guest. -
It's so much hassle. I prefer to stay home.

In the upper right corner, my user name and password are stored. For years I have used it to sign in. But now I get a page saying that "something is wrong" and I am referred to a new page with my stored information. That works, I can sign in there, but why the change? what is the "something" that went wrong?

Spielberg's "West Side Story": Hit or Miss?

I watched the original 1961 film yesterday, and liked it at least as much as the new one. -
Spielberg's "West Side Story": Hit or Miss?
Lucky replied to PeterRS's topic in Theater, Movies, Art and Literature
I saw West Side Story this afternoon and I was not disappointed. The old songs were well-performed by the new cast. The singing and dancing was fun. The Puerto Ricans had little charisma, but I was starstruck by Ansel Elgort as Tony. He did a great job. Sadly, after the film wrapped, he was accused of causing pain to a sexual partner several years ago. Naturally, she waited to say anything until he had a big movie role. -
Kudos to all making the trip. I won't be, but the idea of quarantine in the first 24 hours is a big turn off since I can rarely sleep when I first arrive. Quarantine me the second day! (j/k)

If you look for trouble, you will find it. I didn't, and had safe trips on several occasions.
