  1. Right now I am reading a novel by James Lee Burke, who, in my opinion, is one of the finest American authors alive. The book is not one of his major ones, but I would read just about anything he wrote to spend some time in the worlds he creates- worlds where everyone is struggling with life, yet the struggles and the worlds are described in almost poetic fashion. The current novel is called In the Moon of Red Ponies, and takes place in and around Missoula, Montana, a state where the beauty never stops. It was written in 2008, but you can pick up just about any of his novels and find yourself swept up in somewhere you might not want to leave. Burke's big novel this year was Creole Belle, and it was truly a winner.
  2. Thanks for the forum, Oz. I not only like to comment on books I read and shows that I see, but I love hearing from others about the books they read and the shows they see. I followed the sentence above with a little review of the novel that I am currently reading, and then the big "duh" hit me and I realized that it should have its own post.
  3. So Ice runs hot and cold? Such a shame because he makes me very warm.
  4. Lookin, please stop stirring the shit here! Can you just not accept things the way they are? Does the software have to be realigned to cater to your wishes? Go along to get along is the better way. heehee

    A New Year

Well, the New year is here, I'm still queer, and happy as a lark. What more could a guy want for the new year?
  7. I really enjoyed the movie, but do wonder why they cast Russell Crowe. He can't sing any better than I can. BTW, my admission was only $5.25. They have an early bird special. Friends in LA paid $14.
  8. And me on every click. It is too annoying to keep posting under these circumstances. I hope that they are soon cleared up.
  9. Every click of the mouse brings up a warning, and then I had a whole page from Firefox imploring me not to visit the site right now. I ran Spybot twice and then the most popular Malware download on CNET. All came back clear. I want to be supportive of the site and I also want to protect my computer. Let's hope all is done now, but I would like a little more info on what happened, how it happened, and why we should believe that it won't happen again. The NY Times today has an article on how sites just can't count on their security to protect them as malware people are steps ahead of them, and it can take days for a company to unravel the new malware.

    A New Year

Since I stay home on NY Eve, i will have to wait for your reports on the fun you had. Happy New Year to all. My resolutions are the typical ones, such as lose weight. Anyone have something unusual on their resolution list?
  11. All 3 browses I have tried say this site hosts malware. You have to override the warnings to get here. When I looked at the explanation, they make it clear that the site itself is not giving malware, but hosting it, and they also say that none has been seen since 12-30. So, I don't know how long the big red boxes- and entire pages- that pop up will continue. What i don't understand is why pop-ups keep coming from my anti-virus saying "Threat was blocked." How so if no threats are coming anymore?
  12. If the first pic is Ice, my socks are off. I guess that they are off no matter what his name is, but I do want to meet him, so I need his name!
  13. Oz is online, maybe he will have some info for us.
  14. Did you blow him in the bathroom of the plane? It's kind of tiny, so I am assuming you did this in Dallas. Oz does Dallas!
  15. I am jealous of the thought that you get to sit comfortably while I squeeze into a coach seat. I have the miles to fly Business, but not enough for the husband to join me. So we both sit in coach. As for your flat seat remark, I found it by typing "Delta" in the search box: Posted 27 September 2012 - 07:10 PM To my surprise, I learned that SeatGuru is not up to date. I was on a new Delta 747-400 with the newly configured lay flat seats and it didn't show on Seatguru. I picked my seat anyway and was VERY pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they are. I am told that all of Delta's long distance flights will be converting to these seats. Totally Oz
  16. My screen flashed a huge warning telling me that they had stopped the threat coming from boytoy.com of a blackhole exploit kit. Anyone care to tell me what that is and why it would be here?
  17. The penis of actor Nick Stahl has been arrested for making a public appearance in Los Angeles. Although the actor himself is often sought after for public appearances, his penis does not receive the same courtesy. When it appeared at a Los Angeles adult book store, police swarmed in and grabbed the offending member. The front page of today's NY Times features a picture of happy, smiling police officers as they graduate from the Police Academy. The size of the class alone is larger than most community police departments. But will these officers still be smiling when they find they have to work undercover in adult book stores? Pundits may say that the photo represents the last time the police will ever be seen smiling, but one should not expect them to waste their time arresting men who do what every man does. If the adult book store is known as a place where a man can go to satisfy a natural need, then why send the police there to arrest the man for doing the very thing he needs to do? Are the cops not going to masturbate when the need comes? It would be different if Mr. Stahl were masturbating in a real public setting. If it was the Castro, guys would flock to watch. If in a schoolyard, well, no he wouldn't be rewarded for that choice. As it is, it is surprising that he needs to do the deed himself, but he did, and he should have been left alone. Stahl
  18. Adam Smith, if this story is true, you are in serious need of professional help. I strongly urge you to get it!

    Ipad Question

I have made sure that every email in the Yahoo account has been read, and the one is still there. All files have been searched. There is a phantom email somewhere.
  20. The video makes the books appear to be very joyful that they are books, but does little to convey the joy that books can bring to the reader. I love to read though, so was happy to see the books playing while I thought they were sleeping.

    Ipad Question

Thanks, EXPAT. I should check that too.
  22. And a Mormon Republican at that.
  23. I have been in Rio in January- my first visit- and boy was it hot. humid too. But not this hot. So stay cool if you can. The A/c bill must be high...or do you even have A/C? Some like to do without it, but I could not.
  24. My Ipad insists that I have one email at my Yahoo account, but I don't. I went through the whole darn thing on my computer, and there is no unread email. How do I get it corrected/ Anyone? Thanks. (No, I don't want to smash the Ipad.)
  25. Just as one thinks the Priest calendar is a spoof, I sure hope this is too.
