Ms Students Heckle Laramie Project
Lucky replied to Lucky's topic in Theater, Movies, Art and Literature
Once went to a Broadway show- Joe Egg, or something like that, and they filled the balcony with high school kids who had obviously not been to a play. When the character on stage would ask a question, they would shout out an answer. It went downhill from there. But somehow we have to introduce the young to the theater. Perhaps the musical version of The Return of Ms Guy? Singing, dancing, what more could you want? -
It's raining men, no doubt! October is when they had the bad floods last year, or the year before, I think. Obviously my memory of this is failing me! Thanks for the pic.

19 hours since we last had a pic! Firecat, are you sleeping? Hey, just kidding. I enjoy your reports, and pix always help me understand the more complicated parts!

Very interesting story, EXPAT. And first in your class, too! -
I wonder what Lookin thinks about this. He's not nuts, but then he doesn't live in Palm Springs! Nice response, CharliePS.

So, since Lookin has 1916 posts, how will his next post be number 1918? And, of course, we are making the assumption that Lookin will post again! Hopefully, he will.

Second UPDATE: It's hard to avoid the story as it is all over the news. The more I have learned, the more regrettable that the police did not show more restraint. Lessons to be learned for all.

Ms Students Heckle Laramie Project

A NY Times photo shows Garrison Gibbons, an openly gay theater major at the University of Mississippi. The Times says that he was one of the biggest targets of the bigots at the performance before the football players. The line below Mathew Shepard's photo gains more meaning in the context of new bigotry among young men. -
The Desert Sun, a Gannett newspaper, serves the greater Palm Springs area, and today they have an innocent enough headline: Health Gaps Found Among LGBT. Haha! Sure. Most of the gays have health insurance and rate their health as "good," "very good," or "excellent." This is followed by that world famous word: but. And in this case, the but is that we're nuts! Yes, the second paragraph of this supposedly gay-friendly article says: More than half of the LGBT participants had been diagnosed with one or more [emphasis added] mental health disorders, and about 40 percent had experienced some emotional, mental or behavioral problems that worried them in the past year, rates much higher than the general population...Forty-one percent had received a depression diagnosis, compared with 8 percent of the the general valley population. 36 percent with anxiety compared with 6 percent, and ten percent with panic disorder compared with 3 percent of the general public. Gays interviewed blamed the disorders on the stress of being discriminated against. The Palm Springs area has a very large gay population, so if that kind of stress due to discrimination exists here, well what chance does a gay person have in say, Kansas? It's a three page article, so I'll let you read it in its entirety, just don't panic or get depressed! http://www.mydesert.com/article/20131004/LIFESTYLES03/310040023/Health-gaps-found-among-valley-s-LGBT

Boys will be boys! We know that sometimes people new to the theater do not react appropriately, but at the University of Mississippi, Ole Miss, audience members heckled performers during a performance of The Laramie Project, a theater presentation about the death of a young gay man, Mathew Shepard, by bigoted young men. The bigoted young men at Ole Miss seem to have been largely from the football team, but not entirely. It was not easy identifying exactly who the hecklers were. But they did not show theater etiquette, and one wonders if this is endemic to the region. Yet we (occasionally) have posting here a resident of the state who shows great dignity and comportment, so go figure! According to a report in today's nytimes.com: There are conflicting reports about whether a derogatory word for a homosexual man was used, but several people who attended agree that catcalls, giggling, inappropriate coughing and burping began during the first act and escalated in the second act. The harassment included making fun of the weight of one of the actors and commenting on the body of the stage manager who told the audience after intermission to silence their cellphones. FoxSports.com seemed to have no problem concluding that the problem was the football players, and called for a strong message to be sent to those who heckled that this cannot be tolerated and the offenders should be suspended: http://msn.foxsports.com/collegefootball/story/ole-miss-football-players-homophobia-heckling-school-play-laramie-project-matthew-judy-shepard-100313 The student newspaper seems to have as full an account of the incident as anyone: https://thedmonline.com/um-students-football-players-disrupt-play/

Your kindness and concern for your friend is admirable, lurkerspeaks, and I join you in wishing him well.

"ONE" can reflect? There you go with the numbers again. We can all reflect, so the number is higher than one, is it not?

I'd be much more excited if it were a good picture quality, or especially if he was kissing me. I have long been a fan. Remember in his early days how he had that sexy "bee-stung" lower lip? It wasn't real, of course since he doesn't have it now. Injections helped back then. But it sure did look sexy when it was wrapped around my dick...oops, I promised him I wouldn't tell!
-
We must be really desperate if that kiss excited any of us. The quality of the video sucked more than Ryan does. But to see a straight actor kiss a male seems like a very small thing these days. Certainly not enough to get worked up about. And how many years old is it?

Lookin, your next post will be number 1917.

According to Wikipedia, Richie enjoys singing and playing the trombone. Translation: He screams when getting fucked, and his boner is huge. But not all the guys who wear the NOH8 tape are gay. Many straights have been pictured wearing it in solidarity with the gay community. Mscleovr wants us to think he has inside knowledge, but if he did, he wouldn't be shy about telling us how he came upon it. Was it a midnight clear?
-
What happened? I don't know about this,. Should I care enough to look into it? And if I did, how would my life improve? UPDATE: Of course, on reflection I realize how cold my words were here. But, I don't really care, so why pretend that I do? There are nutcases in the world, they act out, they make the news. It'll all be forgotten tomorrow.

Jane Higgs, who actually failed science in high school, ended up marrying one. He got so excited when the Higgs boson was confirmed that he actually caressed his wife's bosom in celebration. She liked it!

Although I often find myself in disagreement with parisrio2000, you have to give him credit as he seems to have a knack for getting a thread a long shelf life!

And Lucky gives it a 28, which isn't! And my tomatoes are edible, too! -
If the entire penis is not visible, how is it a "full-frontal" pic? Just askin!

Lookin, the boys that Oz has workin in the back room reported a noticeable fall-off in posting for your screen name. Should you think that they are wrong, well, we can audit your account to be sure. The cost of the audit is only $49.95, and can be billed to your credit card in 4 easy payments of $15, which would include interest and special handling fees. However, if you have been audited already this year, there is a special fee of $75 to make sure that duplication of efforts is not detrimental to your standing in the community. The nice thing is that you can apply for a fee waiver. Just show up any day between 9 and 5 at the Bangkok office and ask for the waiver. Be sure that Oz is in the office that day, as only he can grant the waiver.
