  1. There is no coach. Generally we have two curtains or dividers, one to separate the cockpit from the cabin and one to separate the biffy from the cabin. However, there is generally what I call the owner's seat which can be in various locations depending upon the model and configuration of the aircraft. Sometimes, it is obvious and sometimes, it just evolves. It really is no different from the other seats but possibly has more leg room ( because of the seat configuration) or will recline further (because of lack of obstructions behind it) or if the owner likes to chat with the pilots, it might be further forward or needs to do a lot of work, it will have the biggest table. Of course, as you allude, there is size or price or pecking order envy. Larger aircraft tend to burn more fuel and thus get more attention from the folks selling fuel. I have seen "reverse" ostentation (so to speak) when a gentleman I once met almost always traveled only with his personal secretary. He purposefully chose a smaller aircraft so as to not appear seeking attention. And, today, many US corporations do not display their company logos or names on the aircraft to avoid terrorist or abductions threats. They also block their registration on flight following software. Best regards, RA1
  2. Aspirin seems to be like a lot of drugs, either prescription or OTC, in that there is no free lunch. It, like every thing else, has potential side effects. It acts as an anti-coagulant even in very small doses and therefore must be discontinued for any procedure, even a tooth extraction, to prevent unusual bleeding. Some people find that they have intestinal bleeding even with small doses. The bottom line seems to be only take aspirin under the direction and supervision of your doctor. Silly but true. Best regards, RA1
  3. Good for her (and them). I have often wondered the same things that you have mentioned but I have decided to wait and see how things are going if I should live that long. Yes, human frailties are a pain and nuisance but there always seems to be alternate rewards or so I hope and think I perceive. If your mom needs a fourth for bridge, let me know. Best regards, RA1
  4. My FAA doctor told me a long time ago that "old" folks could withstand higher "G" forces than young folks because their arteries were harder which maintained the blood flow. I only paid slight attention to what he said for two reasons: one, I wasn't old at the time and two, I had little interest in becoming an aerobatic specialist. Seems as though he might be right. Best regards, RA1
  5. This type of so called service is for those who have a lot more money than they know what to do with (or their employer does) but not quite enough to fly in the secure knowledge that you know each and every passenger on board personally as well as every member of the crew. After all, there is no first class like flying in your own aircraft. Best regards, RA1
  6. I didn't realize that was an amphibious flying object until I looked at it again. Cool. Best regards, RA1
  7. That must be a valid statistic. I also have known of two men, one 40ish and the other 60ish who had a specific medical reason for doing so. Best regards, RA1
  8. I always keep my head down and my tail up when approaching for a landing. However, I do my best to avoid other flying birds in the vicinity. Not colliding is always a good policy Best regards, RA1
  9. Is this a general "witch hunt" or is the ADA a "real" threat to society? One can never know from general media reports or so it seems. More to follow, I am sure. Best regards, RA1
  10. Fame and fortune seem to give a lot of folks serious problems and while MJ was certainly one of those, he managed to have unique problems. Sorry he had all those problems and sorry to see him go. In 1984, I attended one of The Jackson revival tour concerts. This one held in Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, TN. It was interesting. You may assume that I was flying a family to this concert and they kindly included me in their purchase of tickets AND you would be correct in that assumption. I can't remember the last time I bought a ticket to any performance but surely I would if necessary. Of course, JT is a local boy who has made good. More power to him. Best regards, RA1
  11. The Princes Harry and William are roaming about in Memphis for a couple of days. They are here for the wedding of one of their pals who is marrying one of Kemmons Wilson's granddaughters, namely Elizabeth who is the child of Kemmons, Jr. I do not know her or the Princes. But I do know the Rendezvous restaurant where they ate some delicious pork ribs. I also was happy to fly Mr. Wilson, Kemmons Sr., around several times during his life time and also Kem, Jr., who is the one son who is not a pilot. The other two boys, Bob and Spence, are pilots and fly themselves usually. All this is and was interesting to me but it provided no more income than flying you or anyone else around for a day or more. I charge by the day, so let me know if you have an aircraft you wish me to fly for you. If I happen to run into one of the Princes, I will try to take a picture and post it herein. Don't hold your breath. Best regards, RA1
  12. I have eaten them as prepared by a genuine "Coon Ass" as this Cajun was self described. In a huge pot of boiling water he threw in pounds of crawfish and corn on the cob. I have no idea what seasoning he used, maybe something as simple and available as Old Bay. When done he simply poured all out on newspapers and everyone picked and ate from there. Lots of shells which made disposing of them easy. He also very slow cooked in nothing but butter some shrimp which he served on Po' Boy type rolls or buns using plenty of shrimp butter on each sandwich. All very good. Purists (and others) bite the tail off, discarding the shell. I suppose a "real pro" could do all that without using his fingers except for the initial pick-up of the crawfish. Best regards, RA1
  13. But, when you smoke them, they are WONDERFUL. Best regards. RA1
  14. This kind of reminds me of the relationship between the FAA and pilots (but, then, most everything does). Perhaps that comment could refer to any Fed + "others". Trying to exist coincidently in two different universes without breaking any laws of both can be, well, trying. If you were to propose that engineers and programmers co-exist this way, who am I to argue? Best regards, RA1
  15. Confusing oneself is always a possibility and one to which I freely admit. Best regards, RA1
  16. Because I am not currently stoned, only drunk, there is only so much of this noise that I can stand. Otherwise the concept and idea are amusing. Best regards, RA1
  17. I shouldn't wonder that one might be starting to flag at 1235AM. However, I wouldn't know what MSNBC's shows might espouse because I do not watch that channel. Isn't everyone of mixed ancestry? My ancestors arrived in the US in the late 1880's so we are certainly johnny come latelys as far as being "true" Southerners. OTOH, we have been "here" ever since and have never owned any slaves. Whatever any of that might mean. My immediate family was of German and Danish origins but beyond that I am not so sure. Best regards, RA1
  18. Alex Trebek followed by The Captain of the NYY followed by the US Marines. Best regards, RA1
  19. I certainly understand what you mean but what the heck is "pure European descent"? It seems to me European folks range from almost translucent white in the north to very dark close to the Mediterranean. Isn't much of skin color the result of one's ancestors spending an inordinate amount of time in strong sunlight? Or, what am I missing? Best regards, RA1

Isn't it amazing how many folks wish for "other events" to take away current ones? That certainly applies to BO, the NBA commish and many, many others. Best regards, RA1
  21. I am willing to suppose that any inhabitants of an UFO will be summarily required to depart the country? What gobbledygook this text is. Best regards, RA1
  22. So, your "main" attribute is being gay? Best regards, RA1
  23. Soft totalitarianism? Like some other things, this can go from soft to hard in a very short time. We seem to be marching down the wrong road. Best regards, RA1
  24. Aren't they already? Best regards, RA1
  25. Are you left handed, MsGuy? Just curious. Best regards, RA1
