I know you will bite but I ask you to be careful with your teeth. OK, a short synopsis. AL was melancholy. AL was not so much against slavery as he was against "bad" economics. AL suffered a LOT for the bad stuff that was happening with a civil war. This whole idea was not good. AL tried very hard to have a meeting of the minds before the civil war as well as his expected "after". Remember, some of the economics were cotton vs. manufacturing. Not an easy choice then or now. The family difficulties were present but not part of my analysis. I am sorry for any and all of those. Those times were different from today. Some of this is bad and some of it good. So, AS, are you among the legions that greet Spring with a big sneeze? Best regards, RA1

I certainly agree that whoever will run the world is up for grabs. The current US foreign policy is a total disaster. Not sure we even have a foreign policy and a word worse than disaster did not readily come to mind. So, one question is did Secretary of State HC actually do anything constructive or did she mindlessly follow the instructions of BO? I realize this is similar to, when did you quit beating your BF? Best regards, RA1

When she has a long and in depth interview with a few in the media who are not looking to cover up or make apologies I will listen and evaluate my current position. Of course, ordering (not having) a burrito and talking to the "common folk" is 99.9% PR with little substance, if any. Remember, I feel much the same way about all pols, not just hilarious. Seriously? She IS distant and inaccessible. Reminds me of the "Queen of Mean" who said, only little people pay taxes and there are two sets of laws, one for us and one for them. Best regards, RA1

Why believe anyone? Cops lie, attorneys lie, defendants lie, civil litigants lie, politicians lie, etc. Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes? Best regards, RA1

We already know that some dogs can tell with uncanny accuracy when terminal patients are about to expire. ( I stay away from such a dog at all costs.) Now our canine friends are expanding their repertoire to include giving us more time on this earth. What a blessing. A potential companion and medical guide all in one. Best regards, RA1

I thought it would be similar to the Germantown housewife's ideal suburban house----no bedroom, no kitchen. In a way I guess it is, only elevated for the filthy riche. Best regards, RA1

Has to be a typo. November is a few more days away. Regardless, you guys have fun. Best regards, RA1 -
Why are the feds seeking the death penalty? Do they feel it is a matter of law as written, what the public "demands" or what? If so, where are the pick pockets roaming freely through the crowd during a public hanging? I have not followed any so called in depth reporting of the actions and motives of the feds (in fact I try to avoid thinking about what feds are thinking or doing) so I may have missed any clues. There is little to no doubt that this guy is guilty and all along I have thought THE question is, what shall the punishment be? Just musing. Best regards, RA1

How else will he "get" his "promised" virgins? Of course, he could easily be one with a life sentence. At least for a short time. Best regards, RA1

Actually, either spelling of too/two could be correct in this case but what does it matter because you are entirely intent upon calling others names. Best regards, RA1

Pretty much a foregone conclusion after his attorney admitted he participated. Here is my question: The defense attorney's tack is to claim that Tsaraev was unduly under the influence of his radicalized brother. How is that different from, I was just following orders? Best regards, RA1
