I understand that you are saying it is me, not the site. I wouldn't mind if it just held me to the site but it won't let me leave the post. Periodically I like to investigate the pillar. Best regards, RA1

He wasn't obviously from far off, readily identifiable yankeeland. No dem or dose or caaa. He sounded like a "regular" guy except for not remembering what whoever sent him actually said, "get more sauce". Of course, I was at the far end of the building and I try to avoid those who cannot say normal BBQ things. Best regards, RA1

Almost every time I post lately, I cannot move away from the posted site. If I close the web site and come back, I am move around freely. I think after several minutes, whatever is holding me, let's go but most of the time I lose patience by then and close and come back or go on to other things. Best regards, RA1

Today, while eating a bite at a local BBQ joint, I over heard a guy order several sandwiches to go and. "extra gravy". The 3 other customers and the 2 employees ears perked up at this. "What do you actually want? We don't have any gravy here." Of course, soon the employees offered extra sauce, which made everyone happy. When I left, I asked one of the employees if the next time I came in for a BBQ, could I have extra gravy? That set her off again, laughing. Best regards, RA1

Houston is a hodge-podge of political/legal districts. One corner may be dry and across the street open bars, etc. Houston has more than once been called the largest unregulated zoning district in the world or US, if you prefer. Driving around or divining what Houston is can be daunting, figuratively and literally. It runs on oil and NASA, partly thanks to LBJ. Best regards, RA1

A devout Arab Muslim entered a black cab in London. He curtly asked the cabbie to turn off the radio because as decreed by his religious teaching, he must not listen to music, because in the time of the prophet there was no music, especially Western music which is the music of the infidel. The cab driver politely switched off the radio, stopped the cab and opened the door. The Arab Muslim asked him, "What are you doing?" The cabbie answered, "In the time of the prophet, there were no taxis, so piss off and wait for a camel." Best regards, RA1

Water too warm for cod in US Gulf of Maine as stocks near collapse
RA1 replied to AdamSmith's topic in The Beer Bar
I suppose there could be such as place as the Gulf of Maine. Are there Scots nearby with "cod pieces"? I deplore the idea of over fishing our oceans and other "natural" resources. As stated many times before, our #1 problem is too many people. Best regards, RA1 -
I do NOT want my wings to whirl, either literally or figuratively speaking. Airplanes are already noisy enough and if you add my screaming, it becomes unbearable. You and Bill O'Reilly. Best regards, RA1

Siggie was right, except for those with an inferiority complex who, in fact, were inferior. Best regards, RA1

I agree with AS completely. Better to be home and have such problems. I had a house fire many years ago and the cleaners found a picture of a naked boy. Imagine that! They left it in my fireplace. It was also mortifying at first but I got over it in about 1 NYsecond (upon thought). Best regards, RA1

Some BP Rx has that effect + all the stress you have undergone + various other meds. I suggest that you just hang on and see how things go. I predict this too shall pass. As you know, various Rx such as Cialis can help but they need to be used considering other things you may be taking. Also, many suffer side effects from these types of Rx; the main one seemingly being headaches. However, a headache vs. extreme horniness may be a simple trade-off. Best regards, RA1

Was MH370 brought down by fire in its cargo of lithium-ion batteries?
RA1 replied to AdamSmith's topic in The Beer Bar
There are any number of imponderables about this ill fated flight. Some have been mentioned above. Pilots are trained to don oxygen and smoke masks at the slightest hint of a problem. It is difficult to imagine toxic fumes so overpowering that this training would be overcome. Certainly then a distress call would have gone out. Even if contact with Air Traffic Control (ATC) were not available there are always other aircraft on frequency that would have heard such a call. I am not that familiar with lithium-ion batteries. I read the news and technical reports about them but absent an expert suggesting otherwise, I would tend to rely upon my knowledge of NiCad batteries which also have a thermal runaway problem. They can explode or burn fiercely but only with "unusual" charging. At the moment I do not understand how a battery that is not undergoing a discharge-charge cycle can have a thermal runaway. From where does the excess energy come? How and why a plane with everyone on board dead or totally incapacitated would turn and go in a very different direction from intended is indeed a puzzle. Like others, I can dream up movie script scenarios to fit various results, but they make little sense. Best regards, RA1
