In some ways the aircraft pilot community feels the same way. Where are the new and "talented" pilots coming from? They are technically trained but have very litte experiece with the "real" world. Much the same might be said for posters. Where are the "new" and enlighted, experienced posters coming from? I know not where. I would like to be hopeful that they are here and willing but are only waiting upon an invitation to speak. SPEAK! Best regards, RA1

bb81- You are correct about "others" preparing US food in foreign lands. I don't know why but it not the same by far. Most every US citizen if gone long enough gets a hankering for US food and tries to sooth the desire with such as KFC or McD. I remember trying KFC in England one time during such a craving and to this day have no idea what it resembled but not KFC. Therefore I try very hard to adjust to local food and enjoy it. I do about 95% of the time. Best regards, RA1

Interesting. Most of the places out of the country that I have been don't even know what US Thanksgiving is ( and according to Watter's World, neither do a lot of young US adults). However, I did celebrate "Canadian Thanksgiving" one year when I stumbled upon it in BGR (Bangor, ME). Usually when I happened to be in a country when they were celebrating one holiday or another, I did not celebrate because I was there on business and just cooled my heels when no one did any business on a holiday. It is easy enough to have a drink and a nice meal but I usually do that anyway. More difficult to observe Boxing Day or some such which has little to no meaning to me. Best regards, RA1

You out there in your 50's are mere children (as am I). Many years to go and much more to be thankful for. GO us. Best regards, RA1

I was thinking this was going to be a "Black" feature. NP. The shelf life of any twink is whatever he is willing to assume OR what his clientele is willing to assume. I have known at least one "twink" who's shelf life extended WELL into his mid 30's. Let's celebrate ALL. Best regards, RA1

Yes, I last cooked a standing rib roast in 1980. However, I have aroused at least once since then. Best regards, RA1

This year (unless some poor naked boy shows up on my doorstep) I am cooking a standing rib roast. Just felt like something different. Of course, he can share the roast also if he does not show up in time to cook a turkey. Visiting family and friends in NC for Christmas when I will cook the whole enchilada meaning turkey, cornbread dressing, green beans, etc. Best regards, RA1

George Takei's Reponse to Virginia Mayor is Perfection

Some do and some don't. It is easier to become non-trusting when friends and others are killed. Best regards, RA1 -
Never mind the Olympics or the locals, TC is supporting the saunas all by himself. Obvously, we all need to join him so he won't go broke. Best regards, RA1

Apples and oranges. These Syrian refugees don't "look" like our enemies, some of them ACT like our enemies. While mayors and governors may not be able to legally do anything (other than make noise via the political process), Congress critters certainly can do something. I hope they do. Best regards, RA1 -
I live in a suburb of Memphis called Germantown. Full of FEDEX captains and other ne'er do wells. According to them (and others) the definition by their wives of a perfect Germantown home, no bedroom, no kitchen. Best regards, RA1

Because you printed the 1st class luncheon first I, for a while, assumed that the uppity class did not rise until noonish. Regardless of how much money I have or don't have, one reason I have so far not seriously considered Cunard lines is their continued emphasis on "class" or, perhaps in my estimation, lack thereof. Late one night (any other time to cross?) when I was crossing Atlantic I heard this on the radio. Lufthansa reported that they had to suspend meal service. Some wag asked, did someone forget to clean the ovens out? Total silence for a LONG time. When crossing the Atlantic one never knows who they will meet on the radio waves. I was always in the need for relaying a position report (HF, especially portable HF, was notoriously unreliable) so I talked to a lot of airliners, military folks and others plodding or zooming their way across. I once talked to an Iranian C-130. This was when we were still friends. All this was before GPS, satcom and anything much better than just dropping a bottle out of the window with a note inside it. Still most of us made it thanks to the reliability of aviation piston engines and LOTS of gas. Best regards, RA1
