Many composite aircraft to include the Windecker Eagle (here I mean light aircraft) were only offered in white. Stated reason: They were afraid that dark colors would affect the glue (generically speaking). Lear only offered white Lear Jets to save money. Best regards, RA1

I suggest the B-52 as your primary means of transport. They have tried to convert it to only 4 engines (vs. 8) but today's engines would drag the ground under the wing, therefore too expensive to retrofit. Just imagine the US government deciding something it too expensive. As you know, all those (light) twins have dual ignitions, dual generators, etc. (per engine) and they have been approved for 180 minutes or even 210 or 240 minutes of flying on one engine to reach an alternate. I agree with you. It isn't a pleasant prospect to think of flying for up to 4 hours on one engine. However, modern turbine engines are very reliable. The most likely reason for one to quit is insufficient fuel which probably will cause the remaining engine to suffer the same fate. *Light twins is what 747 pilots call all those 2 engine aircraft. Except for avionics, most of our stuff is still 1930's or 1940's generation. Therefore pilots are generally very conservative by nature (not the same as right wing). We still are learning on 80+ year old technology. If people were meant to fly we would have aluminum arms. Best regards, RA1

I have become lightly infatuated with this guy. To the point of watching training films that he narrates. In this film he makes at least 5 errors that I observed. For those as anal as I am they are: He did not drain the fuel to check for water or other contaminants, he did not open the fuel cap to visually verify the fuel was actually in the tank (fuel gauges are unreliable), he did not observe the static port (necessary for the instruments to work properly), when he checked controls he neglected to check the rudder (this from the cockpit or cabin as he says) and he should not handle the prop in this manner, a magneto could be hot which could allow the engine to fire enough to break an arm or worse. I want the boy brand. The Baltic Aviation Academy is located in Lithuania but the sims are made in the US. Good. Generally what one is being paid to fly is what one likes. I suppose younger folks will choose technology over function. Other things are more important and more memorable. First solo, first license, first high performance aircraft, first jet, first paying job, first captaincy, etc. I know a lot of pilots who swear by their Boeings but fly the Airbus anyway. Unfortunately I have had to arrange to bring a body back to the US. This was from Ireland. Different countries have different customs and different laws. The widow wanted the body returned. So through the department of state the US embassy in Ireland was contacted and made the arrangements. $5,000 dollars was transferred to the embassy to make sure the funeral home was paid, etc. The Irish custom seems to be burying ASAP. Few are embalmed or transported any distance. They did embalm the body and put it in a beautiful but simple wooden coffin for transport. Delta airlines transported from EiNN (Shannon) to KMEM (Memphis). Then a local funeral home took over. Through some local business contacts we got DL to waive their transport fee. I ended up giving the widow about $4500 of the original fee. This was some 18 years ago. Best regards, RA1

From what I can tell this (second man authentication) has never been tested (and with any luck, never will be). It was tiptoed up to during Nixon. There are some interesting conflicts namely the President must defend and follow the Constitution but also must the military. Defend the country but also consider the Geneva Convention.
