I was NOT referring to your rendition of what is no doubt a delicious dessert. I was merely describing what I have found to be true at various eating establishments. Like you, when I have found something which is delightful to the tongue and palate, I intend to thoroughly enjoy it. Also, accidental discovery can indeed be a delight. I completely agree with you that eating "entertainment" is where you find it. Best regards, RA1

Not that we need more to eat but I always find it interesting that "fancy" restaurants serving "fancy" food seem to add swirls of this or that to "fill up the plate". Makes me think they are serving mainly the sizzle and little of the steak. Best regards, RA1

Aren't we all pawns with present day manipulators? No need to speculate about those in the future. I am not saving money for anti-gravity boots. Best regards, RA1

I think this is correct for all general media, not just Fox. Who provides correct and unbiased information? I have no idea but I continue to search high and low to find "whatever". Best regards, RA1

17 Horrifyingly Disgusting Retro Gelatin Recipes

You remind me of my 85 year old grandmother who referred to "those old ladies" at church. There is perhaps a lot to be said for "blanking out old memories". Best regards, RA1 -
One in four Americans 'do not know the Earth circles the Sun'
RA1 replied to AdamSmith's topic in The Beer Bar
As a charter member of the Flat Earth Society, I can attest that so far I have never flown off the edge of the Earth although many times I have thought that I might. There are many opportunities to do so. Whilst in the "far reaches" of the Atlantic Ocean or the Pacific Ocean or the Indian Ocean, one can "easily" see the ends of the Earth or so it seems. Personally I would like to explore other oceans to see what ends might be there. That includes the Antarctic Ocean as well as the North Sea. So many opportunities and so little time. Best regards, RA1 -
Perhaps I am not really gay. I don't go to movies, plays or follow various "activities" that many gay folks do. I don't go to gay bars or any kind of bars. I guess I am just not a "joiner". I have never heard of Ellen Page or many of "others" that gay folks seem to follow or know about. Should I turn in my pink card? OTOH, I do like my boys. Best regards, RA1

By no account will I defend India. It has been on my list of never return since I first went there. However, I wonder what the "real" drug situation is? We have "political" opposition to importing drugs from Canada, We have various scandals here in the US about improprieties perpetrated by our own manufacturers. Obviously there is an agendum from brand name drugs to denigrate generics. Who knows the whole truth and who might be reporting it? I know not. Best regards, RA1

I am sorry for the discomfort and discombobulation (as well as injuries and death) being caused by the current global warming aka snow and ice storms. However, several folks of my acquaintance from "snow country" both Yankees and plain old northerners have made fun of the terrific traffic mess recently in ATL. I immediately replied that no one can drive on ice and that I have personally observed many folks "up north" who cannot drive on snow either. Today, sorrowfully, I cite various massive pile ups in such as PA, a state that qualifies on all heretofore mentioned descriptions, being Yankees, northerners and in snow country. There are plenty of other untoward examples of unsuccessful encounters with snow and ice. Years ago, here in the South, folks stayed home when it (rarely) snowed. Now they are learning that good example all over again. Let's see how long it takes those "up north" to learn. Best regards, RA1

I am much more worried about pols with their fingers on the trigger than I am an accident. Today, I think an accident scattering radioactive material is much more likely than a nuclear explosion. Naturally, I am not in favor of any of the above. Looking back at our world wide crude experimentation with nukes it surely is a wonder we did not either blow many of us up or spread radioactive contamination that would last many generations. I remember the Strontium 90 that circled the world a few times back when above ground testing was still going on. Silly us. Will we ever learn? Best regards, RA1

What you suggest is no longer ONLY one's private life. A bus driver who is DUI is a danger not only to himself but to others. I am not suggesting that there are no penalties for using drugs. Someone who cannot control himself may not be employable in any capacity. I realize there are a lot of possible mutations and variations. But, remember, I know porn when I see it. Best regards, RA1

I am not so much for legalizing various drugs as I am getting government out of our private lives. Best regards, RA1

One more "aviator" remark. Aviation from day one has had very serious consequences when sometimes minor errors are made which led to an "attitude" generally adopted by many aviators and that is to denigrate the idea of death. For instance, buying the farm only means no longer living to aviators. I would rather die than look bad is bravado often attributed to fighter pilots (and others). Going west is another way of expressing death. Some "others" get the point and some do not. Macabre humor or attitude is not limited to undertakers. Just FYI. Best regards, RA1 PS- Are not some of the best "jokes" told at wakes which by no means is there any intention of making light of the situation, only relieving stress.

Hijack is a very serious situation for aviators. So, is it my anti-establishment inner being that urges me to do so in a forum? Only my shrink knows and he ain't tellin'. Best regards, RA1

Food waste solutions: cuttlefish testicles and pigs' heads
RA1 replied to AdamSmith's topic in Health, Nutrition and Fitness
What a strange article. Many places here in the South make note that they use every part of the pig except the squeal. Pig's feet, hog jowl, mountain oysters as well as cracklins, intestines, etc. are all prepared and eaten foods hereabout. I suppose every country and culture has their own food habits which is neither good nor bad, it just is. It seems that in the US we overbuy as well as overeat, both of which lead to waste. Many foreigners are somewhat aghast at our restaurant portions but they soon learn. Best regards, RA1 -
After exploding underwear, how much more intimate can you get? Actually, terrorists or any other "activist" group will have to get up a lot earlier in order to do something new. Back in the 1970's US Customs at JFK squeezed my toothpaste, squirted my shaving cream and other wise thoroughly looked into my luggage to include unpacking my life raft. Because I made so many one way trips overseas I, for a time, was listed as a suspected smuggler (presumably of drugs but that was never clarified). To be repetitious, most anti-terrorist activity is a waste of time and money. A determined individual or group can get past any such. In the meantime, US citizens continue to have their rights taken away and abused. Best regards, RA1
