Holy shit, straycat... Are you a twink? Seriously ... whenever I need help with computer stuff, I always turn the nearest twink. They can almost always give me the answer, even if they do give it to me in HTML! Impressive, straycat!

I wasn't sure if I was going to chime in on this thread, mainly because I wasn't sure if I had anything constructive to add. But, I think as someone who doesn't have any emotional attachment one way or the other to the whole issue, maybe my general thoughts on the subject might be interesting to some. First, I didn't participate much on escortspeak, and not at all toward the end. I actually am a firm believer in open dialogue and freedom of expression, so I thought the idea was a good one... so initially I did post there. Eventually, it just wasn't my cup of tea, and so just as freedom of expression is important to me, so is freedom of choice...and I chose to move on. I am also a firm believer in appropriate action/behavior in appropriate settings. I would even expect my twink skater date to dress nicely, put a napkin in his lap, and address the waiters with thank you and please if we happen to go to a 5 star restaurant. what a fucking analogy!!! (but hey, it's an escort board). So when rules of behavior are established in a community, it's appropriate for all who choose to populate that community to try to comply. That being said... I am both a social person and a philosophically inclusive one, so it's always my hope that as many people as possible can feel welcome in a community, but also abide by the basic rules established for that community. After that incredibly verbose preamble... I guess what I am basically trying to say is that I didn't really like escortspeak as it had evolved, so I didn't go there. But I am also sad that it closed, because some people did have a home there, and found its parameters acceptable for their own uses. (my opinion on this would change if the allegation that there was illegal activity on that board is a true one, but to date, no one has presented any evidence that this is the case) I am also glad that some members from there have posted here in the past completely within the rules of this board, and have now returned with a pledge to continue to do more of the same. That's really how I feel... and I'll know I have the correct opinion if I have managed to piss off every single person who reads it. :7

I am trying to think if I was alive in the 60's... Man, you guys are old!!!! :7 hehe (sorry TY, I learn respect for my elders from the twinks that I hang with,,, and you know how that goes! ) But since we are all getting nostalgic... the best thing about those days (and for me it's more the 70's) was LONG HAIR! And thank God, it's coming back. Not just in Quebect anymore, but even in the good ole' US of A!!!!! :9 :9 :9 :9

>If you check the stats, you'll find the other two reviews >discuss someone who is 5'10", cut and in his 20s. The >new view discusses someone who is 5'8", uncut and 18. I >think Daddy didn't realize that it's a different person. I guess that would be a believable explanation if it wasn't the exact same reviewer posting a review with the exact same contact info. > >Rather than discuss it here, though, it would probably be a >kindness for you to post the error at the site where it >occurred. Again, this would be good advice if I posted on that other site. I have not for quite a while now, and for reasons I have explained before, will not start now. > >And, yes, I agree: fact-checking is a good thing and it's good >that TY is being careful. And this is why I wanted to praise TY... and yes you are an intelligent person so I won't insult you by lying and pretending that I didn't miss the opportunity to get in little dig elsewhere either. > >Regards, >BG Always great to hear from you, BG!

I just wanna give a shout out to TY for carefully scanning through the reviews every night to sort out the wheat from the chaffe. It's a thankless job, but it sure is an important one. Why the sudden mention of this? Just because someone pointed out to me the review from todays date on Hooboy's site for Enrique in Tuscon, AZ. The reviewer states that he checked Enrique's ID and he is 18. The same reviewer wrote a review in 2003 for Enrique, when according to him now, he would have been 15. At that time, he said Enrique was in his 20's. Thank you for your good work here.... Not saying that nothing will slip by you... but I don't think that would have.

> >Thanks again! > >(Hope to see you again sometime in Montreal.) > >Oliver Oliver: You are certainly welcome. I used to think that maybe I was biased toward her because I associated her songs with some of my favorite boys... but the more I heard her sing, the more I fell in love with her... not the imagery! haha Anyway... I really too hope that we will see each other in Montreal again. I continue to go there with great regularity... and the more of the rest of the world that I see, the more I am convinced I'll keep going back there more and more and more!

Having just returned from Moscow, and feeling uncomfortable and unwanted for most of my trip there, this event didn't surprise me much. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?...L&feed=rss.news I reported an event outside of 3 monkeys (in the Europe section) involving special forces while I was there. Again I will just say that for me, I found the Russian boys some of the most beautiful I have ever seen anywhere in the world. But the issues that society has for basic human rights and who should have them makes a no-brainer for me as to whether I will return or not.

Hey Flguy: That's great. May you have hours and hours of musical pleasure and delight!

3 monkeys: Moscow. Access denied. Saunas instead
marcanthony replied to marcanthony's topic in European Men and Destinations
Ok peanut gallery... Went to this incredibly HUGE Russian mall... literally miles of open stores. Have never really seen anything like it. Got a pair of jeans, a tight fitting clubbing shirt, and black canvas shoes with stripes down the sides. Gonna try and get in again tonight. And, no Tampa, no one will be bringing a camera! -
So had heard that 3 monkeys is the place to go... and went to check it out this weekend. Went with a group of 4. A cute 18 yo russian boy, a cute 23 yo american boy, our guide, and myself. First, denied access to the American boy for lacking his passport on his person. So he said he and the guide would go back to the apartment to get it while me and the Russian boy sat and had a drink. Then I tried to get in. Access denied for "dress control". I was wearing a long sleeve red SILK shirt (quite expensive actually), black slacks, and black walking shoes. Nope, out of dress code. Through the guide, I asked what do I need to do to get into code if we try to return tomorrow. T-shirt, jeans, and sports shoes. Go figure. So we all went to a sauna instead. I can't tell you the name, because they are underground and unlabelled. But it was lots of fun. Kind of a very small and shady establishment in the model of the Brazil saunas. Mainly varying ages of working boys. You pay 500 rubles for entrance ($20), and then you pay 300 rubles if you want to use a room without one of their sauna boys. If you use their sauna boys, the room is free, but the boy costs 3000 rubles which is paid to the house (the boy gets half according to the boys). It was actually quite fun. There was someone for everyone's taste. We were able to spend several hours there into the wee hours, and all left quite satisfied.

Aces: Thanks for caring and worrying. My problem was more mundane and that's my apartment in ST. Petersburg didn't have internet access. It was great though (see my comments about it below). And the boys in Russia are quite beautiful... though travel here is more difficult than most due to language and cultural differences which are significant.
-
Saint Petersburg is a wonderful city. The boys are unbelievably gorgeous and the vast amount of interesting art and architecture make the day full of things to see. It's pretty much impossible to get around without knowledge of the culture and the language. Things to see: Hermitage, Russian Museum, Kazan Cathedral, Peterhof, St. Isaac, Savior of the Spilled blood. Clubs: Sinners, Central Station Personal guides: A MUST. I had my flirt4free boy (pictured above) as mine which made life really fun... but there are others on gay.ru of which Andrei comes highly recommended.
-
I know already that ultimately I will love Moscow, as one my first day here, my head snapped back multiple times for all the gorgeous boys around the place. But I have to admit that today was a good reminder for me at least that all this fun and games that we partake in all over the world is not without risk. I had heard that 3 monkeys was the gay bar to visit... so.... Off to 3 monkeys, which is a HIKE (and not in any gay village ...it's kind of in some kind of residential area). That's the other thing.... there is no "village". All the gay establishments have to try to blend in and be as inconspicuous as possible. Well as we get closer we realize that there are 200 special forces and police putting like 100 people up against some wall. The special forces guys are scary, cuz they carry BIG guns and wear combat fatigues. My guide says.... hmmm, wonder if they raided the club for some reason. So we play dumb like we are just walking by ( I notice that NO ONE talks to the police) and when we get past the club, he asks the club doorman what happened. He says these people were demonstrating against gays, so the special forces came to haul them away. They then herded all these people into two large buses, and off they went. Thankfully these were not club patrons, because they were not attractive... hehe But the fact that so many people would protest (and must have been fairly violently for so many police to come out) is even more scary than the special forces. So we go into the club... I know, I am either brave or very stupid... and we are the only two guys in there. I guess the demonstrators and the commotion scared everyone away. It's a nice club, and the waiters are VERY VERY cute boys (they look like the patrons of the VIP lounge at Unity... hehe). So we stay for a drink. After a while, people start coming in, and by midnight it was pretty good. I would say that besides the staff (who were all fabulous) there were about a half dozen ones that pass the test! It's not easy though, as none of them speak English... or very very little. But all of that is another story... and yes I am an idiot for going into that place when all this was going on... so just want to advise to heed my warnings, and not replicate my actions. Though based on what I saw today, I am certain I'll be back there this weekend.

>---- > >My first post here; a refugee from the old board. Let me be the 2nd to welcome you here! Actually my very first exposure to Lara Fabin was Adagio (the Italian version) which is quite beatiful. One of my favortie taboo strippers Damian used to dance to it... and every time I would show up to Taboo, he would use that song for his slow song. So I always knew she could sing, but when I listened to this recent CD of her live performance, I was so impressed with her range and her verstatility that I definitely became a new fan.
-
Steven: I know she is very popular in those countries... I just don't understand her relative obscurity in the US. Many of her songs are in English (though I have to say I really like the songs she sings in Italian and French even better). And her voice is both magical and powerful. But we do completely agree on the fact she is wonderful. I am a fan as well!
-
On my last trip to Montreal, the bartender at Unity (who is a fucking gorgeous boy in his own right, a gymnast, but I digress) found out that I like Lara Fabian. So on my last night there, he presented me with a CD that was made from a live performance of hers... I just finished listening to it,,, and it fucking blew me away. She is such a talented performer with one of the most gorgeous voices I have ever heard... and such a real person. Can't figure out her lack of popularity in the US... but guess that gives me another reason to keep going back to Quebec.

Thanks, Barry. The article was quite interesting. The part about everyone in Canada "trying one's best" to keep prositution underground even though it is legal would explain it's relative absence on the internet at least...
-
HI DAn: Thanks for taking the time to respond to my question. You are both CND and an escort, so I guess that qualifies you as an expert of sorts, even if you don't have the JD after your name (lol). My understanding of the law in Canada is >that it is not illegal to escort, as being an escort, or paid >companion is not necessarily selling sex. The same is true in most places in the US as well. However, for some reason, I thought that even prostitution was not illegal per se in Canada, whereas that is pretty much illegal everywhere in the US (except maybe that county in Nevada that has brothels?). But that really hasn't stopped the incredible boom of online advertising for such services in the US. > >It is illegal "to live off the avails of >prostitution", which is a law that is directed mostly at >pimps. The other law that often comes into play is that of >"keeping a common bawdy house". I know about the "bawdy house" law, as that is the main charge that was leveled against TAboo in Montreal when they raided the bar. Maybe the "lving off the avails of prostitution", while directed at pimps, unwittingly hampers those 3rd parties who would profit from online advertising (websites, webhosts, etc). Since I am neither CND, a lawyer, nor an escort, I am just guessing here ...LOL. > >There was a recent court decision in Quebec that essentially >now makes sex clubs legal, which, I beleive, as do others will >also serve to protect bathhouses in Canada from Police raids, >etc Yes, I followed that case very carefully... and it almost made me move to Canada! Put it this way... the combination of those types of decisions and the decision of our electorate to re-elect our current administration made me at least research the concept of dual US-Canadian citizenship. And interestingly, I found out that it's really not very hard if you are willing to invest some money into starting up a company or a business. > >*See my profile on this site or visit my personal site: >www.danmeyers4u.bravehost.com > Again, Dan, thanks for your feedback. But can you clarify... isn't it true that prostitution per se is not illegal in most places in Canada?
-
Quebec (spec Montreal) is probably my favorite place in the world for adult fun. The guys are HOT and accomodating, and there is all kind of opportunity. Apparently, though I am not exactly an expert on the subtleties, the laws regarding escorting/prostitiution are more lax in Canada than they are in the US. There are some restrictions, but bottom line, it is not illegal per se to sell sex for money. So it's always been very interesting to me that Canada has lacked the intenet presence for escort advertising. If you are looking for action, you look in "Fugues" or some equivalent, not surf the net. So I was interested and surprised to see "Tendermoments4u" , an escort agency in Montreal, advertising in Rentboy. I am not sure where I am going with this... it just surprised me and caught my attention. I hope it's a trend, of course, because internet shopping makes everything a lot easier. But something... whether it be the law, the culture, or just the way it's done, has so far prevented this from happening to any significant degree. Any CND lawyers know? 'Splain, Lucy!

I always enjoy looking at the preview clips of Sean Cody and Corbin Fisher because more often than not these "straight" boys are rock hard as they are being fucked. It's pretty arousing! :9
-
LOL... I couldn't tell you, since I am probably the only gay person in the United States who hasn't seen it! :7 :7
-
Actually, Oz... If you limited yourself to just having sex twice a day, you wouldn't need any of that stuff! :7 :7 :7 :7

> >I have fallen in love with both Rio and Thailand. I expect to >visit both a few times a year now. So Rio or Bangkok/Pattya? >Well actually the loser city will now be Montreal. With what I >spend in Montreal for lapdances I can have more full pleasure >fun with multiple guys on multiple days in Rio or Bangkok. As a friend of mine once told me... that is why Heinz makes 57 different varieties of soup. I have been to Rio and Sao Paulo and loved it. I have been to France, Prague, London, Italy and really enjoyed them too. I am going to Moscow and St. Petersburg next month. But for me... Montreal remains the first and foremost place of all places. I could never sacrifice it I love the warmth and openness of the people, the ease of communication, the quality of the food, and the fucking hot Quebecois. But the bottom line is that we should all try many different places and spend the majority of our time in the place that fills our hearts the most. For you that will be Thailand and Brazil. For me... my college boy from Unity is calling my name back again!

My two cents: It's not going to be easy to cull out all the fiction from the fact... but it is a desirable and honorable thing that you are trying. Even more kudos that you do so in the setting that you are a newbie site, and that quantity of reviews would likely draw more traffic, something you are striving for right now. I have always believed that if you do things right, down the road you get rewarded. The point of this site, best it was explained to me, was to be a resource... not just a source of entertainment. Of course, when I read reviews, I will use my own bullshit meter to gauge credibility, but its good to know that there is a first line of defense out there. A line of defense that has access to IP addresses and has realtime internet conversations with the contributor. I even feel you are doing the occaional offending escort a service. Sometimes, in the desperation of lack of income, an otherwise decent person might try to skate the system by posting a self review hoping to get some free advertising mileage. Those not so polished are often caught and publically lynched for such an act... probably a case where the punishment does not fit the crime. It's definitely to to their benefit that the slap on the wrist is privately delivered. Bottom line... please keep doing what you are doing. I, for one, appreciate it.
