It's difficult to know what to make of this story since there is only one side presented, and that side has decided to withhold all the relevant details. Without any info, it's hard to know why the news would even report it. It is interesting that they specifically say that Josie's group was asked to leave the bar, raising the question as to whether they were somehow responsible for the disturbance that led to any subsequent violence. I guess we'll just have to wait to pass judgement when all the evidence is in.

Yes, the Unity/Stock fire was also blamed on repairs to the AC. It also began during the day (at about noon). I also agree with you that I have absolutely no indication it was arson... I just raised the question due to the desire but inability to sell which you mentioned. And I would think that an arsonist who is only interested in insurance collections would start a fire when lives would not be lost ... which for clubs like Unity, Stock, Micky's, etc would be in the daytime. I guess by nature I can just be a suspicious guy. I wondered about the same issue for the Stock/Unity fire...but they worked furiously and rebuilt both, so my theory was up in smoke.... no errr pun intended.

I have a good friend who was helping out a boy from time to time with necessity payments, though he always tried to resist dishing it out for extravagant shopping trips. The boy told him once.... all my friends have sugar daddies and I am stuck with sweet and low! lol

HI: to both epigonos and sunglasses..... I haven't been back to Prague since I made my post ... but a very good friend of mine has gone a couple of times (we were actually there together at the time of my first posting as well). There are two gay dance clubs called Termix and Geizeer... and he strongly recommends that you go there (maybe with a guide or interpreter though). He says these guys are not working boys per se... but most will go home with you for a fee... and the quality of boy at these places is pretty high, apparently. So this is definitely one approach. Epigonos... if you like muscle guys, apparently Drakes (owned by William Higgins) is also a place that you should visit. I have never been there myself. As for escorts... there's another thread in the in another forum here about one particular agency... but I really don't know much about that. I actually did all of my hiring from the clubs when I was there. Have fun.

It's funny how we evolve in our tastes and our patterns as time goes on... I used to spend all my time at Strip Clubs at Montreal... and now I go for picking up college kids for "dates" at Unity. Similarly... I used to love Bel Ami. I had (and still have) lots of their early stuff. And no doubt... the guys in this latest Graffiti are soooooo hot. I guess I have lost interest just because the action is so "sterile". That's just my own take on it. The guys hardly use tongue when they kiss. The bottom is always soft. The situation looks contrived. It just seems to lack passion. It was always like that, but it didn't bother me because the guys are so cute. It bothers me now. That's my opinion, and that's why I don't buy Bel ami much anymore. I do admit I enjoyed looking at the eye candy in the free trailers though... and IF one of them would hand me a paddle and bend over, I guarantee you I wouldn't turn them down!

Interesting discussion.... And I think the bottom line is that you both make valid points and you are both right. For me... it boils down to a few simple things: 1) Hooboy did us all a great service with his concept and his website. His untimely and way too premature demise was heartbreak for all us. 2) Personally, I didn't like the way management took over the operation of that site, and so I told them so and left. Life is too short and there is way too much to do to hang around a place where you are unhappy and you are not wanted. 3) Fortunately, this site was born, and for me and others, it filled a tremendous void, and I contribute, enjoy, and participate in it as much as I can. 4) Members participate in one site or the other in varying degrees and exclusivity, and for varying reasons. Some post only here, some only there, and others in between. For some the reason is personal and for others it's content driven. It's their call. In my interactions (both in real life and in the virtual world) with these members, I have found there are good guys, bad guys, and ugly guys on both boards and in both worlds. Given all of that... here's my hope for the rest of 2007. 1) I hope traffic increases on this site, because I think the tenor of discussion and the amount of actual information being disseminated is outstanding, and it can only be boosted by like minded people adding themselves to the mix. So MERmen, Hoovillians, whatever you want to call them... go out and recruit more participants for this site! 2) I hope to meet new friends, or more importantly, reconnect with old ones on the road during my remaining travels. As I have mentioned in a previous thread, I think the most long lasting and personally valuable benefit I have had from either board have been the significant friendships and acquaintances I have made with many people from all 3 boards (the old, the new, and the really new). So here's hoping that participation on this site leads to it's intended purpose (and the original Hooboy's intended purpose).... information exchange, fun, pleasure, and entertainment. And since poetry seems to be the preferred communication tool here these days.... A rose by any other name.....

To get to the punchline early.... Fucking Fags! lol But seriously... this is the story of the most dysfunctional attempt at a promotion I have seen in a while. It's just kind of amusing to watch it play out. Keep in mind that some of it is fact, and some of it is village rumor .... so in evaluating it's veracity, keep in mind the theme (fucking fags hehe). The setting is Gay Pride Montreal.... a place already discussed a lot on this board for its dysfunctional organization with bbcm and diverscite battling over control and doing different parts of the festivities at different times. Offer Nissim, for those who don't know, is a very popular DJ with the gay crowd. He's gay himself, and actually a pretty good DJ. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...endID=102212285 So he's booked to come to play at the closing party at Montreal gay pride. On the bbcm site, the location will be Parking. On the diverscite site, the location will be Unity. The voice in the village says that it will be at Parking because Offer doesn't like to play at Unity since too many girls go there! lol In fact, he was scheduled to play at Unity last year, and moved it to Parking at the last minute (reputedly for that reason). Anyway... eventually the tickets come out for $30 a hit, and they are hot potatoes. They limit purchase to 4 per person, and within a day or two, they are sold out. It says Unity on the ticket, btw. The hype is big, and excitement is high. The day comes. 1) there is no Offer Nissim. apparently the plane ticket they sent him involved a stopover and was not a direct flight, and Offer does not do more than one airport. 2) this had to be something known much prior to that day, as there's no way he received his ticket and refused to come on the day of the flight. But there was no announcement from any of the promoters, and certainly no organized plan for ticket exchange/refund. 3) so there's chaos at the door as disappointed people to a sold out event are trying to get refunds. 4) when all the dust settles, it's a pretty decent night anyway as many of the party goers decide to enjoy their last night in Unity as the replacement is Steven Grondin (a pretty good montreal dj in his own right). I know I enjoyed the night. I know I take stopovers, and Steven looks like the kind of guy who would tolerate one himself! 5) now, on Unity's website (and offer's)... though already burned twice, offer nissim is coming to Unity in September! Do I need to say my punchline again? lol
